He was probably hacked off with winning every long ball humped his way, only to find no-one around him to take it on. I thought he played very well actually, if only Danny Fox had not wasted so many crosses.

He won everything in the air today. The management wanted Davis to play to him but were ignored half the time he went short then had to clear the return under pressure. Adkins also was trying to get Guly to play wide but was ignored.

No way was he 100% fit. Not a bloody chance. If we'd had him in top condition and Tadanari Lee we would have killed them off before half time.

We are missing Lee, don't think he's ever been on the losing side for a league game.Bucked us up a treat when he started playing and we really, really miss his vision and audacity.Would have taken Pompey apart.

Yep. No doubt in my mind at all. To think people were worried about him not suiting English football. The guy was class.

He's proved he can take the hits, doesn't roll about on the ground or go down like a big Mary when someone breathes on him and

his vision is exceptional. If we're missing any player of late it's Chung.Must scare defenses sh*tless.

But he was not in top condition and there lies a major part in our problem, we play the same way whether Ricky is on or badly off form. It does not matter a jot if you are winning every header coming to you when nothing comes from that. When you are winning headers that far back from the coal face, you tend to create less and less as was demonstrated. Get a backbone and get into a position where those headers will be difficult to defend, not 10-20 yards back. But then you tend to find the easy pickings have gone and you are not winning any where near the same amount of headers.

Can't argue with that. Am yet to be convinced about a plan B.

He had an ok game,he was getting pushed about a bit and for a big lad he didn't give much back,he did well in the air but nothing really came of it and the ref let a lot go when him and lallana should have been given a bit more protection from the obvious tactics of putting them down whatever the cost.

He didn't look sharp and he hasn't done for a couple of weeks......perhaps Adkins took a gamble on him and it didn't pay off,who knows?

Saying all of that he has been immense for a couple of years so he can be forgiven for not having a decent game now and then.

Dont think fitness had as much to do with things as people claim. He had a tough time at their place where he was well-marshaled and it was the same story today. Ref also let a lot of small, cynical challenges go.

Sharp didn't really help - wasn't really a threat in his own right which put greater responsibility on Lambert.

He's going to have a lot of bruises tomorrow and find that his match shirt is now about five times too big for him.

He was clearly frustrated with the support and play around him. As others have said, we needed a player like Lee along side/just in front of him. He just doesn't link well with Sharp.

Lambo came out second half and was quite a way off of being fit. There were several occasions when he never ran and avoided challenges. Still, at this stage of the season an 80% fit Lambert is is still far and away our best forward option.

My gut feeling is that Lambert will not be fit enough for Palace on Monday and we may rest him for Friday.

He was poor today. As we're a lot of our players. sharp did well everyone else especially Lallana for his pathetic dive need to have a look at themselves

I really could not understand why he never put his foot through the ball...instead, he tried to go around the keeper from a silly angle, ran out of pitch and fell over

Lallana has been my biggest disappointment this season. Was cr@p today.

Can't really disagree, though the highlights on the Football League Show made him look pretty good.

I do think we cut him more slack than others when he can be equally if not more frustrating than others. Takes too many touches at times and blows good opportunities as he tries to be clever.

Amazing how you can say that. Thought he (Lallana) was the only player looking to create something. At half time I would have: keep giving the ball to him, as every time he got he looked like doing something with it.

No idea why he didn't shoot mind, but if he'd gone round and slotted it in it'd be a different story. Or if his other two cracking volleys had gone in.

Only player (except possibly cork and lambert) that didn't look nervous when on the ball today.

This. ^^^^^

Listen, I've ripped Lallana to shreds in previous threads (not recently) - but he was the ONLY player who looked like hurting the Skates today.

The battle was lost in midfield. We desperately need a real hard fooker in midfield - Morgan's almost there on that but we need a Jimmy Case type enforcer.

We're pussies in midfield basically. Halford had space and time all day long.

Not acceptable.

If we had a hardman in midfield, we'd be up already.

End of Sermon. Happy Easter.
