Dig Dig Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 I think Adkins was ****ed of with the challenge, hence the "nasty one" description. If it's studs it's more likely to be impact. Only a twist, snap or a pop would have put him out for the season.
M271 Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 How ever long he is out for (at least for Monday according to Adkins ) will we need to re-think the subs bench not having a goal keeper, wasn't Spiderman supposed to be our on field sub goaly ? with him not playing will Bart be on the bench or will Adkins risk it ? forever a red and white Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 Spoke to him after the game. He's had stitches, he thinks he will be back for the "season cool down" from what I could make out. Limping slightly. Really missed him today
Mattio Posted 7 April, 2012 Author Share Posted 7 April, 2012 Well I don't think he'll be back for Reading, which is arguably our biggest game, hopefully back for the big push, but I doubt Nigel will risk him unless he has to.

Where's the risk? If the wound heals up,there's no other damage and the docs give him the green light then he'll be OK. Morgan with 1 leg is worth more than 3 Hammonds. ladysaint Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 A big loss if he is ruled out for the remainder of the season, if he had played the 90 it would have been a different game we lost our ball winner and our passing without him was awful. Noodles34 Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 ??? have a look, if Guly had bothered to run across and make an effort (and he had time), closed their LB down, or even (god forbid!) tackle, MS would not have to have made that challenge. Trust me, watch it and you will see what i am saying.

At the end of the day, if we remember, in the first 2 mins Morgan was very sloppy and gave the ball away. He then had to give away a free kick in order to stop the player running through - so you could go back to then and say actually, it was his own fault he was injured(!)!)!. But I won't do that, because it would be stupid.

I am a great fan of Morgan, but he was reckless and in my opinio he would have not been playing Monday anyway, and we would have played much of today's game with 10 men if he had stayed on, he was so fired up today. Absolutely. He looked like Gascoigne in the cup final. Nigel will have learnt he doesn't need to wind him up for a big game today.
Hedgehog Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 he can thank that idiot Guly for it. You are are knob, so Guly raked his studs down his own player? FFS it was not him who caused that injury, regardless of whether it was his fault for not cutting out the player, poor defending in your eyes, but no F'ing way did he cause that injury. And according to the S***e ref was not even a foul, suppose that was Gulys fault as well!
Graffito Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 At the game it looked like Schneiderlin hurt himself in the tackle. Having seen the highlights it looked like the Skate stamped on his knee.
Junior Mullet Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 Schneiderlin made it very clear that he was going to make a full blooded challenge on the Pompey player (Varney?), who saw it coming and went over the top of the challenge into his knee. Somewhat naive perhaps on Morgans part and sly and dare I say smart on the part of the Pompey player. Morgan will learn from this. He was down in front of us and was beating in the ground and covering his face in a lot of distress. Was surprised he even tried to shake it off for a few seconds before we brought Cork on. I would be surprised if he's back to full fitness this season and therefore it's very encouraging to read the above report from someone who spoke to him. For me Morgan has been our most improved player this season.
Rasiak-9- Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 Today summed up just how important Morgan is for us. Without him in our midfield to receive the ball from our defenders all we did was hoof it up to Lambert, as neither Fonte nor Hooiveld were happy giving it to Hammond. Hammond had more ball than almost anyone on the pitch and if it wasn't for 2 outrageous goals would have been a key part in a comfortable win today. Agree Morgan is important but Hammond was absolutely excellent yesterday IMO. Dictated the first half.

Chez Posted 8 April, 2012 Share Posted 8 April, 2012 I thought Cork put himself about more than he has all season. There was some niggle with Allan and he really got into the game. He worked his nuts off. Unfortunately he got caught a few times in possession, as did Lallana, but he could not have tried harder. Can not ask for more. If morgan had not taken on the challenge then their lb would have left two of our midfielders behind, regardless of 'technically' how bad a tackle it was, it needede to be covered, though as i said previously, it could have bben done in the 1st place by someone else playing RM, then the CM would not have had to cover. Sorry fella but you're just plain wrong there, Cork was 1 of our better players today, he was always quick to get to their players and broke a lot of their play up. As for Morgans tackle I was sat directly in front of it and didn't see the Pompey player deliberatly go out to hurt MS, it did happen very quickly thought. At first I thought he'd done his ligaments but seeing as he got up and tried to walk it off a little I suspect he'll be back either for Reading or Peterborough. FarehamRed Posted 9 April, 2012 Share Posted 9 April, 2012 It's a funny thing - I think that Schneiderlin is our best midfielder, but I think that Cork/Hammond is our best combination. Look at the football we were playing early in the season before Morgan came into the team.
