De Ridder

needs a long run in the side but Adkins doesn't trust him or rate him.

That goes for a lot of our players Puncheon, Barnard, Butterfield, Chaplow and SDR they all come in after weeks of not playing with starts or sub apperances and then get slated by the fans for not be f ucking amazing. Most players improve with a good run in the side.

Do not understand what has happened to Chaplow, brilliant first half of the season. Then he got injured our form dipped, but not been the same since he has been back.

I really do think a lot of our players are knackered, including the players mentioned above, and lambert.

I worry about this, but think we will fall over the line!

The only thing he has in his locker is pace. He really isn't very good which makes the hero worship he gets from our fans odd to say the least. We shouldn't be surprised though, players with pace AND an end product don't cost £1m from the Dutch league at the age of 24.

Someone needs to teach him when to come short for the ball and when to drive forward for the ball over the top because he makes it very hard for the player in possession. He should be coming short taking a pass from Fraser then bombing forward for the quick ball over the top but he never does it.

Correct.........De Ridder is always looking for the perfect pass and doesn't 'show' to affect the build up play. Hence he is rarely involved and not good enough.....

I don't either but some players need to have a run in the team.....remember when joe hooiveld first signed..bit dodge to start with...sharp certainly was

GULY was horrofic to start with (another debate lol)

where as Lee looked the business

I would like to see De Ridder start a couple of games

Yawn........

Sorry but putting De-Ridder on the pitch is pretty pointless if the team won't pass to him. Countless times he had acres of space to work in and he is probably the quickest saints player on the pitch yet saints players would rather pass it to someone in the centre of the pitch surrounded be blue shirts. It's the same every time SDR plays it's like the rest of the team have something against him. He could be a useful option if the rest of the team would use him.

and a little longer on the pitch to show us more

Surely Puncheon on one wing and SDR on the other would give us a lot more pace, with Lallana and Cork in the middle.

How much of this have we seen this season?

Precious little. Disappointing.

Probably more about the standard of the opposition than anything else.

Not sure that Dutch football isn't a bit like Scottish football,2 good teams,2 decent'ish teams and a pile of crap to make up the numbers.

How long until the masses realise saints dont play with wide midfielders then ?

SDR isnt up to it IMO, has pace but no brain, runs into blind alleys, not the worst option to end a game with but certainly not good enough to start as he causes an imbalance in the way we conventionally line up.
