saintscottofthenortham Posted 8 April, 2012 Share Posted 8 April, 2012 Simple question, requiring a one word answer. The answer is either 'yes' or 'no'. Never mind 'give him a chance' or 'its hypothetical', any of that. Just 'yes' or 'no' - your opinion, based on what you've seen. In your opinion, is Guly good enough for the Premier League? No. GUly has consistently shown he is not good enough for the Championship.

TheCholulaKid Posted 8 April, 2012 Share Posted 8 April, 2012 Guly was **** yesterday, no doubt. But the Skates bossed the game for 20 mins once De Ridder came on. He offered nothing. Lallana was the only one who offered a threat and Cork was MoM. On course for back to back promotions (when pretty much everyone would've accepted consolidation this season) I'm still inclined to trust Adkins' judgement unlike a lot of the clueless ****s on here. Wiggles31 Posted 8 April, 2012 Share Posted 8 April, 2012 Guly scored 11 important goals contributing to us being in the top two. What a c*nt. He is a player with no confidence and in bad form get over it. I suppose the Chelsea fans think Torres is sh*t and a c*nt. FFS.

Saintjersey Posted 8 April, 2012 Share Posted 8 April, 2012 To those Guly supporters, surely the argument 'he performs well at home' has just been blown out of the water? For the two most important matches this season he has gone missing. He has no bottle, no fight and is a lazy s***.

Chez Posted 8 April, 2012 Share Posted 8 April, 2012 yeah, key in their equaliser at FP and key in Morgan's injury. God, some people seem intent on defending the indefensible, the bloke is a liability, now he has got a key player injured! utter load of rubbish. Your hatred of the guy seems to have got the better of you. Lallana's terrible cross went miles past him, he turned sprinted and went for a desperate sliding tackle but didn't quite get there. No blame there whatsoever. He didn't have a good game granted,, but you are getting desperate.
S-Clarke Posted 8 April, 2012 Share Posted 8 April, 2012 He didn't play well yesterday, but does anyone remember a moment in the game (around 20mins I think) where he took a great touch, and flicked the ball up and over his head...it didn't quite come off, but it was a great attempt. What happens? He gets jeered and heckled. If Lallana tries an outrageous bit of skill like that, and fails, he's applauded. This is the difference. He didn't play well, but who could against the back drop of vile abuse? I heard some horrendous things directed at him yesterday that I'm not even going to bother to repeat. This season has been amazing and I personally don't think anyone deserves to be a scapegoat this year, they've all performed - but for some reason we seem to want to find one, and boy have we got one here. He will hear the jeering, but I hope he doesn't hear some of the comments I hear. The celebrating when he was being subbed yesterday was uncalled for too. Get a grip guys. capitalsaint Posted 8 April, 2012 Share Posted 8 April, 2012 On reflection, I still think our midfield was worse after Guly came off. Guly has been made a scapegoat from the start. I fully accept that he has bad games like everyone else but the continual slating of someone who has scored 11 goals this season despite "not being good enough for the Championship", plus numerous assists is nothing short of pathetic. As for being lazy - do you actually watch him? The amount of chasing and running that he does makes him far from lazy, but hey, let`s not let facts get in the way of a good stoning , shall we? Yep sadly when some fans have marked a player out they will just keep on (and on and on... ) If Guly had scored a hatrick yesterday some on here would still slate him. The boo boys have made Guly their scapegoat and will just keep getting on his back (the same way they did with Puncheon) until they drive him out. miserableoldgit Posted 8 April, 2012 Share Posted 8 April, 2012 O.K. It is quite simple. If a player has a bad game then feel free to say so. There isn`t a player born who doesn`t have bad games. I just think that to just say that a player is completely **** all of the time, when that player has scored 11 goals and been credited with many assists in what is going to be (hopefully) a promotion season says more about the people who critisise than it does about the player concerned. I am not saying that Guly is brilliant, but I think that this continual slagging of a player who quite obviously does have something to offer (NA keeps picking him) is nothing short of pathetic. It is not just about opinions. If I said that MLT was a fat useless git who offered nothing to the team, would that just be accepted as my opinion? Or would I be pilloried as a lunatic? You can`t have it both ways.

saintsmike25 Posted 8 April, 2012 Share Posted 8 April, 2012 We need to get behind the team and the players at this crucial point in the season. Guly is a confidence player who has hit a bad run of form. So, does that make him useless? No it doesn't he's human, he makes mistakes. There are aspects of his game which need work, but he could prove to be crucial tomorrow. We need him upfront where he is most effective and can lead the line because right now Lambert is struggling, and Guly can hold the ball up and get himself about. Also he can be deceptively quick especially when chasing through balls. I think tomorrow he will be a match winner. He has proven people wrong in the past and will so again.
