VectisSaint Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 Guly 5 Hate how the fans were singing for de Ridder, embarrassed by that, but he didn't have a great game, to be far he didn't see the ball because we bypassed midfield de Ridder 6 never saw the ball, we just don't feed him enough, but when he got his chance he fluffed it Agree with most of your assessment, and especially the above. Perhaps now people will begin to see that it is not Guly that is the problem. Its embarrassing when so-called supporters boo their own players off the pitch, but perhaps they should consider what they wish for, because de Ridder was no better. It is the rest of the players and how they use them that are the problem, but I swear Guly would have buried the chance the SDR fluffed. I like Guly but have to concede he was awful today, in the same way SDR was awful. Game spoiled for me a bit today by the knob sat in front of us. Completely out of his brain, falling over everyone. We really do have some mongs who are so-called supporters (never seen him before in the area that I sit regularly). Spent the part of the game that he was able to be at doing ****** signs to the Skates who were over a hundred yards away from him. I guess he thought he was proper hard, in fact he was a total ****, hope its a long time till scum like that come to the ground again, suspect he only comes to derbies. Saint_clark Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 Just remembered, Rocha should have been off in the first half for raising his hands to Lallana. Also noticed that Norris wasn't booked for jumping into the crowd - what exactly did Sharp get booked for after his first goal?

SuperMikey Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 Dirty bastards indeed. Probably would've been a different game had we kept Schneiderlin on the pitch as we had to play it long from the back as Hammond and Cork can't string together 2 passes (sad but true). Guly was a spectator, i'm a fan of his but today he just wasn't there. Came off his marker for their first and left our wide areas exposed when he drifted infield. Not sure if today was just a bad performance or whether he's not cut out for high-intensity games like that. Tbf, their two goals were crackers. However, had our marking been better on the edge of the area they wouldn't have had the opportunity to shoot. Real sickener to lose that lead so late on as well. P*mpey fans were mongs as per usual, load of gobby 14 year olds Block 1 side who were safe and sound behind the police line. Not sure they would've been so mouthy had there not been as large a police presence.
wessex saint Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 Davis at fault for 1 st goal.. cork was cracking.. when he got pushed off the ball it was usually a 60 40 in their favour. Lambert nowhere near fit. Fox frustrating as is often the case. Ahhh !!! At the end of the day their keeper pulled off about 3 worldys to keep them in it.. a wonder strike from them to equalise 2 nd time. And northam support was awful from the moment the skates scored their .1st to 10 mins from the end. From the itchen chapel corner we were completely outsung for about an hour. Bottom line.. we created enough clear cut chances to beat most teams

rick1976.4.38 Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 pretty poor team performance, rickie def not 100 percent,we need some pace.personaly i thought cork was the only one up for it.please stop thinking the sun shines out of adam, hes shooting is woeful,he should have put the shot away instead of going down.they had two wonder strikes and scored.why have resorted to so much long ball, and we took the p*** out of the hammers for it.its still on but alot harder and dont think we will win monday, not very often we come away from palace with a win.i also thought we looked tired today all over the pitch.also why dont we close down our opponents like they do to us. still, keep the faith, five to go but we will need to play better.coys

Saints Warrior Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 Point is a point and now that Bristol won I feel a bit better. BUT Saints defending is shocking and getting worse game by game. We gave em to goals by not bothering to close down. Wasted corners and crosses again a problem for us. On the plus Sharp is Sharp and some good attacking at times. Guly needs to go on loan to Littleton FC, I played for them and he would slot into Sunday/Sat football well. Maybe an Arm chair on the Pitch if he starts for Palace. Give him his cedit he was brillaint early on in season but not my god he is slow and cant keep the ball. Did no one tell him its a Derby game today! RedFear Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 footballs a funny game, im sitting here gutted but the irony is, take out all the ifs and buts, what that result actually, factually, did was return us back top and (added to the bristol city result) dropped the skates further from safety
Wilko Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 It feels like a defeat, but the reality is that we just need to match Reading for the next five games to win the league. The atmosphere wasn't great, but from the Northam/Kingsland corner I didn't hear much from the Blue Few either. If we win the next two games, it won't matter so much. If you're restricting the opposition to shots from 25 yards, you're doing most things right. The leveller at the end was just an incredible effort. Sometimes you just have to accept when someone does something that good that, be honest, 90% of the time goes into row Z. I need to see it again, but not sure how Kelvin didn't save the first... pingwing Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 Bah Sharp did a Johno quick performance, 2 tap ins (first should have been Fontes anyway) and then NOTHING, such a frustrating player. Everyone else gave it a good go against a keeper playing like a man possessed! Full credit to Ashdown, without him it would have been a cricket score line and was the only player pomp of championship standard. Still a mad home draw will do considering both goals were someone smacking it as hard as possible and looking surprised it was a goal. Hopefully we play like that against Palace and Reading for a decent chance of 6 points from the next 2 games. Dig Dig Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 He didn't react quickly enough. Saw the strike again on telly, a far fiercer shot than it looked at the time. Don't think Davis could have done much tbh. IMO, as well as Guly going AWOL and allowing them to double up, I thought Richardson was at fault, had a couple of chances to nick it away and just did nothing. He was very poor today. You just can't please some people... Billy scored 2 goals more than any other Saints player, (and one or two others..Lallana and Fonte in particular .. had easier chances and missed.) for me a draw seems fair (if against the run of pla)y. CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 A few thoughts on today's match: The ref was bloody awful, his ineptitude going a long way towards ruining the game. Apparently it is now withing the laws of the game that any SFC player can be elbowed in the rids, or receive a forearm smash to the face, without fear of punishment from the officials. SFC not anywhere near our best (yet again) but clearly the better team and we easily created enough chances to win this game 3 times over. PFC keeper (Ashdown) had the game of his career, while Kelvin won't be happy conceding twice from outside the box efforts - however well struck. Jack Cork, Billy Sharp, and Adam Lallana all had good games I thought. Ricky Lambert I must say looked very off the pace, Fox was terrible, and as for Guly do bloody Prado ..... I was massively disappointed with the result to be honest but its gone now, so take the single point and move on to the next game.

St Marco Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 Not much to say except Davis should of saved the first goal. No keeper should be beaten at that angle from that far out. Looking at the footage it's like he tried to do a flashy save when should of just palmed it over. Our defence was shocking at times and how Norris had that much space with a minute to go was criminal. Add to that our tactics were well and truly wrong. We put huge pressure on Lallana to create things and when he couldn't we just hoofed it. Guly was ****, de ridder was ****, Lambert looked knackered from the start, Hammond couldn't keep the ball etc. sharp cork and Lallana were the stand out players for me. It was a good game to watch and a point was a fair result. But we need to win our next two games now or we will be under massive pressure.
