S-Clarke Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 Gutted but we didn't deserve to win. Midfield was shocking. Crosses and set pieces were poor. Sick of seeing us give the opposition so much space. That said it could just be one of those days, two wonder strikers and some top saves from their GK. On to Palace and Reading :S If we give Reading that much space we're in for a hiding.
.comsaint Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 Adkins just said Morgan is out for the season - or words to that effect. He's got a very badly injured knee (stud marks all down it) and that's his season finished. More good news then! Bloody football. . . .
James Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 I don't think we bottled it at all, that's a bit of a silly thing to say. I think we were shocked by how much they came at us, I don't think we expected it and tactically with Halford in midfield they cut out alot of our threat. We had much more of the game, albeit little end product. Overall a draw was a fair result, but it feels like a sickener. Losing Morgan is a loss though, although I thought Cork gave everything today. He wanted it. But the point is, we are top of the table yet were so poor. They are bottom And far exceeded their usual level of performance. They wanted it more than us. So disappointing. So gutted
Frank's cousin Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 OH For **** Sake give it a feckin rest with the 'bottled, doom, gllom, fecked it up nonsense'. It was a Derby FFS, and those who thought it would be easy against a side stuggling for their survival merely reveal how little they know about the game. Yes we have had a coupole of poor games when you conisder the season form, but its obvious lambo not 100%. They played well and were up for it, but still needed 2 wonder strikes to get a draw - we had several chnaces that on another day would have seen us 3 up - thats feckin life, it happens just look at our visit to Leeds - Yes, it tight at teh top, but did anyone thing it would be easy? Believe and keep positive - be ****ed off about today yes, but dont let it erode the confidence of what has been a cracking season and WILL see us promoted. Avenue Saint Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 Didn't play well at all. They played well an we gave them time and space all game! Hope Morgan is not serious and billy ran his heart out all game. What's happened to our passing game???? Still top of the league, chin up! Palace and reading huge! We'll do it! Believe!!!!!! Adkins also says that it is a 'squad game' - well more now than ever do we need to see just who is good enough to step up to the mark. Based on the last two performances, we are not that great - if the bottom team can come here and make us look bad, Reading will seriously fancy their chances. Hammond is a non effective non footballing entity! He contributes nothing. Cork showed grit in parts but we have to bring Chaplow in the fold now. No other choice. BigShadow Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 Disappointed - but they didn't crumble as most expected when going a goal down and a draw was well earned. What worries me more is the impact on the players with 3 games in 6 days and the mental impact of conceding the late equaliser. The pressure is mounting - but I am sure WHAM or Reading will slip up too at some point. Don't have any nails left to bite though.

Window Cleaner Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 Not sure what's happened to Puncheon? He seems to have dropped off the radar ?!?! Trousers put a pic up of him arriving at the ground with Harding today. I'd rather have seen him at least on the bench instead of Barnard, think he has a lot to offer and controls the ball well. Window Cleaner Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 Garbage. Lallana was one on one and dived rather than shot. Has a character flaw. Ball had gone and he knew it so he did a dying swan. Micky Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 Garbage. Lallana was one on one and dived rather than shot. Has a character flaw. Went round the keeper, too many touches, lost control of the ball, ran out of pitch, went to ground without being touched in hope, chance went, PFC players didn't seem to have a problem with him going over - although clearly not touched. Should of at least worked the keeper.

skintsaint Posted 7 April, 2012 Share Posted 7 April, 2012 we should of killed them 2nd half...Adam should of scored but took the wrong option, Fonte should of scored with a volley. Their keeper somehow kept two shots out within a minute. We hit the post with another Adam volley. Just one of them days when they have three shots all game and two of them fly in from 25 yards. We didn't utilise lambert as much as we perhaps could have, seemed as though we were more intent on finding 5ft and a bit sharp with the long ball! You might be right mate. Very concerned about Morgan. Lost control of midfield without him. Typical, lee and Morgan both playing well and out they go with injury... Might have to change formation and go 4-5-1 with runners from midfield in support of Rickie? Recent games, where we've played poor, it's been the midfield battle where we've lost out! Today, when they go the ball they picked passes out at will. No pressure with Hammond running backwards and cork not really mister tenacious! Morgan won't be back this season, would put him as a doubt for the start of next year based on how Nigel was talking about it. That is as big a blow as any. Some people don't appreciate him, but we have no composure in the middle of the park without him. Cork and Hammond played ok today, alot of tenacity and effort...but very little composure from either of them, that was the main problem. We lacked a central midfield player to just take a touch, stop the ball and move it on. We will miss him enormously.
