St Marco Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 Couldn't see a thread so thought i would start one! Well i think this game is important. We had a excellent result last week where we showed a lot of character and determination to get back from 2-0 down away to win 2-3. We HAVE to build on that this time. All the things are there to go on from that and move away from the bottom group and claw our way up the table. The team have to show that effort in every game they play not in patches. So for me i think the lads will be up for it and will win 2-1. Bristol are no mugs but they got a lot of people injured and got battered last week 4-1 by Reading but i think coming off of our result last week we should be high in confidence and can see this being our 2nd win at home. COYR!

COYR! Yes I hope you are right. Unfortunately over the last few years when I have thought things are getting better it all goes wrong again like the blackpool match back in the summer
surrey1saint Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 2-1 saints awell i think. Yes 2-1 to Saints COYR!
Weston Saint Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 One thing after last week, there is no need for the teams heads to drop if they go behind. There will be more belief now. That comeback might be worth much more than the 3 points we got on the day. Here's hoping
Toadhall Saint Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 Yes I hope you are right. Unfortunately over the last few years when I have thought things are getting better it all goes wrong again like the blackpool match back in the summer Just want back to back wins - which if we are going to stay up we need to do more of. With a bit of luck it'll happen for us today. Biggest worry is Bristols pace against our sometimes very asleep defence.
ottery st mary Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 Whatever happens the end result is a win for the mighty Saints..3-0 Hope Spiderman is fit to-0day.
dubai_phil Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 Been a beautiful almost English summer's day here today, low hunidity, a few high puffy white clouds and around 32C. HTH 'cos all the local forecasters will all be watching down the pub when the game starts!
Bensfcno1 Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 Bit of a random one! anyone live in chichester, and know by any random chance of a place which will play the game today? Im at the uni, the SU refuses to play champ matches as ****anta play a prem game at the same time. Thanx for any help!
NickG Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 looking forward to going. Do they have the same keeper as last season? He had a great game
Saints67 Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 looking forward to going. Do they have the same keeper as last season? He had a great game Basso wasn't it? He let in 4 last week so no doubt he'll have a blinder today.
NickG Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 Basso wasn't it? He let in 4 last week so no doubt he'll have a blinder today. that's the guy -seem to remember thinking away player performance of the year during the game!
Window Cleaner Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 Whatever happens the end result is a win for the mighty Saints..3-0 Hope Spiderman is fit to-0day. Doesn't look like it, he's not in the squad. Bad ,bad news, in fact very bad news, changing my prediction to a draw 2-2.
Saints67 Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 Doesn't look like it, he's not in the squad. Bad ,bad news, in fact very bad news, changing my prediction to a draw 2-2. Where have you got this info from as it's not on the OS?
forever a red and white Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 got several bets on for this: draw at 2-2 saints win at 2-1 city to win 3-2 adebola to scora and city to win COYR
trousers Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 Time for my first 'win' prediction of the season.... Tight game..... 1 - 0 to Saints; Rudi free-kick half way through second half.
team-saint Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 2-1 is actually not a very common result (especially for us) so i would say 3-2 to saints it will definately be a good game
oggiee Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 I really cant judge this one i want to believe that preston was a turning point but i just dont think 45 minutes will change our season. 1-1
ExSt Peter Saint Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 The squad is up on the OS and no Schneiderlin :-(( Thankfully no Lloyd James either :-) Wonder whether Euell will play in midfield with Surman, or will it be Wotton? I think I'd go for -------------Davis-------------- Cork----Pearce--Lancashire--Skacel ------Surman---Euell-------------- Lallana---------------------Gobern ------------McGoldrick------------ ------------Peckhart-------------- Subs: Bart, Wotton, Smith, BWP, Thomson From what's available.
ypbl Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 Leaving soon for SMS. I'm assuming that the game won't be rained off: it's been tipping it down in Whiteley today. Prediction: 1-1
St Marco Posted 8 November, 2008 Author Posted 8 November, 2008 Perfect weather for football no need to call it off! If we come out with the plan to hoof it up to our 1 striker then maybe not, but if we come out with the plan to pass it around on the ground should be perfect!
Thedelldays Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 i reckon we will win 2-1.. bristol have been hit and miss lately and were awful last week... we need to win and doing so will show the team IS getting better
70's Mike Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 1 NIL WILL do , lets turn over the cider drinkers. Leaving in about half hour Stupid kick off time
THEVMAN Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 The squad is up on the OS and no Schneiderlin :-(( Thankfully no Lloyd James either :-) Wonder whether Euell will play in midfield with Surman, or will it be Wotton? I think I'd go for -------------Davis-------------- Cork----Pearce--Lancashire--Skacel ------Surman---Euell-------------- Lallana---------------------Gobern ------------McGoldrick------------ ------------Peckhart-------------- Subs: Bart, Wotton, Smith, BWP, Thomson From what's available. Team news is Wotton replacing Schneiderlin in midfield,Thomson and Gobern on the flanks with Lallana and McG upfront rest of the team as stated.
team-saint Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 no chris perry again? or schneiderlin? line up will probably be davis cork lancashire pearce skacel euell/wotton surman bwp/thomson lallana gobern/smith mcgoldrick
ExSt Peter Saint Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 I really wish JP wouldn't keep playing McGoldrick up front. He's not good as the lone striker with his back to goal. Having said that he'll probably score 3 now - hope so.
Window Cleaner Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 Where have you got this info from as it's not on the OS? If you could see what I can see When I'm cleaning windows.
Saints67 Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 Saints: Davis, Skacel, Cork, Lancashire, Pearce, Wotton, Surman, Gobern, Lallana, Thomson, McGoldrick. Subs: Weale, Maynard, Sproule, Trundle, Wilson
ottery st mary Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 If you could see what I can see When I'm cleaning windows. George Formby is your sawce.
Saint Martini Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 Schneiderlin out again. He seems a bit injury prone.
ottery st mary Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 Schneiderlin out again. He seems a bit injury prone. It is a French thing, what with Gasmi and Pierre Pulis......Only joking. Martini/Mottie, we need commentary as there are no Television sets in this part of the world..please.
