Benj Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 Ricky is hopeful of playing Saturday and any rumours of him being out for the season are false. Straight from the horses mouth this afternoon
Roger Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 Would be a lift even if he was on the bench. Then we can see if the team can do it without him, and bring him on if needed. If not needed, he's fit for Palace. Personally I think this is exactly what will happen. No, he will play both defo.
Dig Dig Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 If anything I think Lambert will start Sat and be rested on Monday should his injury need to be managed.
Lazlo78 Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 Rickie Lambert in training today... Wait... is that Rudi Skacel and Michael Owen in the background?!
dan17 Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 Thank you VMAN! Now I may actually get some sleep tonight :-)
saint_disco123 Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 you know what? i dont want lambert to play. lets put him on the bench and lets play them with our other strikers and win the game to show them that even without lambert we can tear them a new one

Saint_Donovan Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 The nav man has spoken . I think saint Donovan might be s skate wind up merchant or alpines long lost cousin . Apologies if I'm wrong * Very wrong on both accounts!! My same source told me Rickie's other half is currently getting her boobs done if anyones interested? Mr Lambert's life is looking very rosy right now!!
saint_disco123 Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 im so sick of every club going "ooo one man team oooo" and those lot down the road going "it would be a 50/50 game if lambert is injured", im just so tired of it, I feel that if lambert didnt play we would still thrash them!
Verbal Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 I had no idea Saintsweb had so many Inspector Clouseaus.

No the guy is absoulte class and our best player. If any player deserves to stuff pompey its him. Look, hes scored everytime he has played against them.
Saint_Donovan Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 I had no idea Saintsweb had so many Inspector Clouseaus. You had to google that to find the spelling didn't you
kpturner Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 * Very wrong on both accounts!! My same source told me Rickie's other half is currently getting her boobs done if anyones interested? Mr Lambert's life is looking very rosy right now!!A wife with false tits? No thanks
buctootim Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 I had no idea Saintsweb had so many Inspector Clouseaus. Surely you mean Clouseaux?
JustinR Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 Adkins on saints player... confirmed that Lambert has been training as normal today and the only players unavailable will be Chung and Connolly. Chung will be out for rest of season
Colinjb Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 the only players unavailable will be Chung and Connolly. Chung will be out for rest of season I believe we will have seen the last of DC now, all the best to him.
Dig Dig Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 Rickie Lambert in training today... He looks injured to me.
Pilchards Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 I don't get this Lambert banging them in, photo's of him training and Adkins saying he's fit for Saturday. As a manager I would think keeping it quiet was the right thing to do. I honestly believe someone is playing games to get the skates tall, but slow centre backs in the starting line up so we will put SDR & Sharp at the front.
trousers Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 Rickie Lambert in training today... That'a his stunt double. HTH
trousers Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 * Very wrong on both accounts!! My same source told me Rickie's other half is currently getting her boobs done if anyones interested? These rumours are really starting to get on my tits now...
Saint_Donovan Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 If he isn't fit all we can do is make the breast out of a bad situation......,
Badger Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 Adkins on saints player... confirmed that Lambert has been training as normal today and the only players unavailable will be Chung and Connolly. Chung will be out for rest of season I read this as only Chung and Connolly are unavailable for selection but of course we may decide nearer the time if we can risk RL or not.I would not read too much into this. If anything I think Lambert will start Sat and be rested on Monday should his injury need to be managed. Agree, especially if we win on Saturday, I suspect there will be several changes to rest players for the Reading fixture.

I don't think the skates have the luxury of choosing between tall/slow and short/quick CB's do they?! They can barely put a squad together
James Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 I don't think the skates have the luxury of choosing between tall/slow and short/quick CB's do they?! They can barely put a squad together Exactly what I came on this thread to say. I think some people on here are way over reading this apparent 'conspiracy theory'. They've released the news to calm the fans nerves after a heavy defeat last time out and ahead of a game we are all nervous about. Doesn't matter what the Pompey camp know/don't know they have limited resources and the same players would be in the team regardless of who was up front for us. Lets stop over thinking things.
Viking Warrior Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 It could go tits up if rickie gets injured early on. If it does then nigel has made a massive boob
Appy Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 It could go tits up if rickie gets injured early on. If it does then nigel has made a massive boob That can happen in any game, i think Nigel knows more than we do, i expect he will be fine as i have been saying all week.
Viking Warrior Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 Appy Rickie will be fine > I was joining in with the puns with the poster who talked about his lass
Appy Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 Appy Rickie will be fine > I was joining in with the puns with the poster who talked about his lass Been a long week of anticipation, i apologise.
suewhistle Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 I think everything is going to be okay I'm surprised there hasn't been more semantic discussion and dissection over the "I think". ;-)
Ken Tone Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 Been a long week of anticipation, i apologise. Think how it's been for Rickie! And I expect he's been thinking about the game too.
david in sweden Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 Wait... is that Rudi Skacel and Michael Owen in the background?! ....you guessed ! ..but you're not supposed to say anything. ssssssh.
david in sweden Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 These rumours are really starting to get on my tits now...'' the b®e(a)st news we've had today, surely ?
Aardvark Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 Rickie Lambert in training today... I'm worried now. I've been looking at this for a couple of minutes now and he's hardly moved - obviously crocked!
alpine_saint Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 U complete donkey Why is it such a bad idea? The week after is Reading, which is shaping up to be the title decider. Do you trust the Skate mongs not to try to get him injured or red-carded ?

Do you trust the Skate mongs not to try to get him injured or red-carded ? This is almost as mental as your post last year suggesting we should rest our players and aim for the playoffs, even though we were sitting 2nd at that point. Play the best avaliable players for every game, that's what we've got to do. None of this resting ******** anymore.

I think some of you have gone temporary blind about the bigger picture in your quest for petty revenge in a local rivalry.
S-Clarke Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 I dont think it is mental. I think some of you have gone temporary blind about the bigger picture in your quest for petty revenge in a local rivalry. Nope...tomorrow is as big as the game against Reading next week, therefore tomorrow we should play our strongest available team. None of this resting crap. Every game is now massive.
beatlesaint Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 Nope...tomorrow is as big as the game against Reading next week, therefore tomorrow we should play our strongest available team. None of this resting crap. Every game is now massive. Absolutely.....we need 4 wins out of 6 max and my nerves would prefer to win the next four and relax for the last two ;-)
S-Clarke Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 Absolutely.....we need 4 wins out of 6 max and my nerves would prefer to win the next four and relax for the last two ;-) You know it won't be that easy though Exciting times though.
St Chalet Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 Nope...tomorrow is as big as the game against Reading next week, therefore tomorrow we should play our strongest available team. None of this resting crap. Every game is now massive. I agree, I checked with the Football League and we get 3 points for win at both games! Alps, seriously mate with six games to go, on the verge of the Premiership - I think we can throw a little caution to the wind.
St Chalet Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 If we win our next two games we will be 5 clear of Reading and 9 clear of West Sham, imagine how they would feel then.
S-Clarke Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 If we win our next two games we will be 5 clear of Reading and 9 clear of West Sham, imagine how they would feel then. This time on Monday night, we could be sitting pretty. But even if we aren't...people need to remember that it's not the end of it.
Roger Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 This time on Monday night, we could be sitting pretty. But even if we aren't...people need to remember that it's not the end of it. Lambert must play 2moro. Lets get 2moro done first.
rick1976.4.38 Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 palace, pboro will not be walkovers like some think, one game at a time and lets hope srl is there for all of them, coys
alpine_saint Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 (edited) I agree, I checked with the Football League and we get 3 points for win at both games! Alps, seriously mate with six games to go, on the verge of the Premiership - I think we can throw a little caution to the wind. I'll feel like that if we've beaten Pompey, held Reading to a draw, and are still top. Seriously, even though I've got a bad vibe going down tonight, its probably pre-match nerves. Without Rickie we should on paper have enough to beat what is supposed to be the weakest and sh*ttiest team in the League. But because of the local rivalry it wouldnt suprise me if they tried to stick a massive boot in on our chances of promotion by sorting him out. A win against Reading is a 6-pointer, and for me we cannot risk to be without Rickie. Edited 6 April, 2012 by alpine_saint

alpine_saint Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 Are you in a time machine? See, I am talking crap.
ulstersaint Posted 6 April, 2012 Posted 6 April, 2012 See, I am talking crap. We worked that out a long time ago.
