Any news on Lambert?

Would be a lift even if he was on the bench. Then we can see if the team can do it without him, and bring him on if needed. If not needed, he's fit for Palace.

Personally I think this is exactly what will happen.

No, he will play both defo.

lets put him on the bench and lets play them with our other strikers and win the game to show them that even without lambert we can tear them a new one

The nav man has spoken . I think saint Donovan might be s skate wind up merchant or alpines long lost cousin . Apologies if I'm wrong

Very wrong on both accounts!! My same source told me Rickie's other half is currently getting her boobs done if anyones interested? Mr Lambert's life is looking very rosy right now!!

im so sick of every club going "ooo one man team oooo" and those lot down the road going "it would be a 50/50 game if lambert is injured", im just so tired of it, I feel that if lambert didnt play we would still thrash them!

No the guy is absoulte class and our best player. If any player deserves to stuff pompey its him. Look, hes scored everytime he has played against them.

I don't get this Lambert banging them in, photo's of him training and Adkins saying he's fit for Saturday. As a manager I would think keeping it quiet was the right thing to do.

I honestly believe someone is playing games to get the skates tall, but slow centre backs in the starting line up so we will put SDR & Sharp at the front.

Adkins on saints player... confirmed that Lambert has been training as normal today and the only players unavailable will be Chung and Connolly.

Chung will be out for rest of season

I read this as only Chung and Connolly are unavailable for selection but of course we may decide nearer the time if we can risk RL or not.I would not read too much into this.

If anything I think Lambert will start Sat and be rested on Monday should his injury need to be managed.

Agree, especially if we win on Saturday, I suspect there will be several changes to rest players for the Reading fixture.

I don't think the skates have the luxury of choosing between tall/slow and short/quick CB's do they?! They can barely put a squad together

Exactly what I came on this thread to say. I think some people on here are way over reading this apparent 'conspiracy theory'. They've released the news to calm the fans nerves after a heavy defeat last time out and ahead of a game we are all nervous about. Doesn't matter what the Pompey camp know/don't know they have limited resources and the same players would be in the team regardless of who was up front for us. Lets stop over thinking things.

It could go tits up if rickie gets injured early on. If it does then nigel has made a massive boob

That can happen in any game, i think Nigel knows more than we do, i expect he will be fine as i have been saying all week.

Why is it such a bad idea?

The week after is Reading, which is shaping up to be the title decider.

Do you trust the Skate mongs not to try to get him injured or red-carded ?

This is almost as mental as your post last year suggesting we should rest our players and aim for the playoffs, even though we were sitting 2nd at that point.

Play the best avaliable players for every game, that's what we've got to do. None of this resting ******** anymore.

I dont think it is mental.

I think some of you have gone temporary blind about the bigger picture in your quest for petty revenge in a local rivalry.

Nope...tomorrow is as big as the game against Reading next week, therefore tomorrow we should play our strongest available team. None of this resting crap.

Every game is now massive.

Absolutely.....we need 4 wins out of 6 max and my nerves would prefer to win the next four and relax for the last two ;-)

I agree, I checked with the Football League and we get 3 points for win at both games!

Alps, seriously mate with six games to go, on the verge of the Premiership - I think we can throw a little caution to the wind.

If we win our next two games we will be 5 clear of Reading and 9 clear of West Sham, imagine how they would feel then.

This time on Monday night, we could be sitting pretty. But even if we aren't...people need to remember that it's not the end of it.

I'll feel like that if we've beaten Pompey, held Reading to a draw, and are still top.

Seriously, even though I've got a bad vibe going down tonight, its probably pre-match nerves. Without Rickie we should on paper have enough to beat what is supposed to be the weakest and sh*ttiest team in the League. But because of the local rivalry it wouldnt suprise me if they tried to stick a massive boot in on our chances of promotion by sorting him out. A win against Reading is a 6-pointer, and for me we cannot risk to be without Rickie.
