tartan_saint Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 jason puncheon @jasonpunch loose lips sink ships this!
Bananaman Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 If this is true it should be kept underwraps... whilst I would love Rickie to be back, it is urely up to the club use that information as they see fit
Pamplemousse Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 If this is true it should be kept underwraps... whilst I would love Rickie to be back, it is urely up to the club use that information as they see fit I think this will serve as a crushing blow to Appleton and his team, on the same day that their best creative talent is revealed to be out for the season. They must be quite downbeat in the skate camp at the moment.

sussexsaint Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 Very happy about Richardson, maybe even more than SRL
Dig Dig Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 Very happy about Richardson, maybe even more than SRL
Leicestersaint Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 Very happy about Richardson, maybe even more than SRL Huh??
Ohio Saint Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 Great news!! I've been somewhat worried and depressed this week!
Saints Warrior Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 Is it too late to get Terry Hurlock on loan for the game to kick a few Skates off the pitch!
manji Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 OS says "set to return" so thats not definite is it ?
James Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 OS says "set to return" so thats not definite is it ? As close to definite as you can be, especially with what Solent tweeted. What are you expecting the OS to say? "Rickie Lambert will definitely be in the team on Saturday"? I think they are slightly more tactful than that.
trousers Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 OS says "set to return" so thats not definite is it ? Very true. In fact, after the initial elation at hearing this news earlier (via BBC Solent) I've now dipped into pessimistic mode again and have a hunch this could be another Adkins smokescreen tactic....
James Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 Very true. In fact, after the initial elation at hearing this news earlier (via BBC Solent) I've now dipped into pessimistic mode again and have a hunch this could be another Adkins smokescreen tactic.... Some people are never happy...I seriously doubt Saints are this elaborate in their mind games. If there hadn't been any news then you'd be saying that was a bad sign and Lambert was definitely out.
saintmatt Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 Very true. In fact, after the initial elation at hearing this news earlier (via BBC Solent) I've now dipped into pessimistic mode again and have a hunch this could be another Adkins smokescreen tactic.... I can't really see how we'd benefit from implying he's fit when he isn't. Sure P*mpey would have to rejig their tactics if they set up expecting Lambert, but the boost from hearing he's not playing would offset any negative impact of this rejig
Verbal Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 So he's in because Saints say he is, or he is out because they say he's in. Or he's out because they're not exactly saying he's in, but this could also be taken to mean that he's in.
trousers Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 Some people are never happy...I seriously doubt Saints are this elaborate in their mind games. If there hadn't been any news then you'd be saying that was a bad sign and Lambert was definitely out. I'm not making any rational judgement on the situation. Just displaying typical human irrationality. Sincere apologies for my human behaviour.
trousers Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 So he's in because Saints say he is, or he is out because they say he's in. Or he's out because they're not exactly saying he's in, but this could also be taken to mean that he's in. ^ This (Maybe)
Saint_Donovan Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 Just heard from a source close to the family that he doesn't think he'll make it for Saturday, apparently he's just had an X-ray on his hip.
Thedelldays Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 Just heard from a source close to the family that he doesn't think he'll make it for Saturday, apparently he's just had an X-ray on his hip. ffs
Verbal Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 Just heard from a source close to the family that he doesn't think he'll make it for Saturday, apparently he's just had an X-ray on his hip. So...no, never mind.
Window Cleaner Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 Just heard from a source close to the family that he doesn't think he'll make it for Saturday, apparently he's just had an X-ray on his hip. So who's right, the source close to the family or Nigel Adkins who says he's been banging them in in training ? Time will tell I guess,
scotty Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 What the f**k are you on about you illiterate clown? "Illiterate"? I think not. You spent some time recently on the "Saints for sale" thread trying to argue the case, and suggesting Cortese was lining us up to be sold when we achieved prem status. I disagreed with you, along with some others on here. That was before the club statement which pretty much dismissed the idea.
Lazlo78 Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 Fingers and toes crossed I'm sure the blue few have their fingers webbed that Lambert will not be fit...
Sour Mash Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 "Illiterate"? I think not. Yes, illiterate might have been a bit harsh, just very, very thick is probably more appropriate. You clearly didn't read what I posted, which is a pity as it was quite straight forward.
Appy Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 Just heard from a source close to the family that he doesn't think he'll make it for Saturday, apparently he's just had an X-ray on his hip. Just watched Nigel Adkin's press conference where he said and i quote, "Rickie is A-OK for Saturday and is banging them in in training".
trousers Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 Just watched Nigel Adkin's press conference where he said and i quote, "Rickie is A-OK for Saturday and is banging them in in training". And, of course, they showed footage to back this up...? (sorry, I can't help myself...) :-)
Saint_Donovan Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 Just watched Nigel Adkin's press conference where he said and i quote, "Rickie is A-OK for Saturday and is banging them in in training". And obviously i hope this is true, just passing on info
trousers Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 And obviously i hope this is true, just passing on info How 'close' is your close family source? Cheers
Window Cleaner Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 And, of course, they showed footage to back this up...? (sorry, I can't help myself...) :-) Guess we'll have to wait until tomorrow for that. Anyway I guess you'd have to take Nigel's word for it over "a source close to the family" because let's face if the former is bullsh*tting that's going to damage his credibility whereas for the latter, it's just an anonymous post on a forum.
manji Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 Just watched Nigel Adkin's press conference where he said and i quote, "Rickie is A-OK for Saturday and is banging them in in training". NA could mean he A-OK for an operation Saturday , as for "banging them in " ........
Appy Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 Didn't someone say the other week when he was doubtful that they spoke to him in the pub and he said he was injured? He then took the field at the weekend. I think a source in the family isn't anywhere near credible.
Saint_Donovan Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 How 'close' is your close family source? Cheers Rickies second cousins brothers old school mates milk mans friend. So pretty close!!
Raging Bull Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 Rickies second cousins brothers old school mates milk mans friend. So pretty close!! Holy sh!t thats my best mates brother-in-laws butler, small world!
suewhistle Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 So he's in because Saints say he is, or he is out because they say he's in. Or he's out because they're not exactly saying he's in, but this could also be taken to mean that he's in. Yes, I think you've essentially got it..
scotty Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 Yes, illiterate might have been a bit harsh, just very, very thick is probably more appropriate. You clearly didn't read what I posted, which is a pity as it was quite straight forward. I did read what you posted, "very, very naive.", which was in response to a comment I made suggesting that the primary concern of Cortese and the Liebherrs was probably not purely financial, and that the club and management had already stated that on numerous occasions. The thread was based on the suggestion that the club would be sold to new owners when it's value increased as a result of our (hopefully) impending promotion to the premier league. You then took issue with the idea that we play any different style of football to other teams, and several posters disagreed with you. I don't see how that makes me particularly thick.
View From The Top Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 I think everything is going to be okay Including Frazier? If so, happy days!
Amesbury Saint Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 I think everything is going to be okay Great stuff, will sleep better tonight.

hypochondriac Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 Lambert trained properly for the first time today. They are going to assess how he has recovered from it tomorrow before making a definite decision but it looks good.
trousers Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 I think everything is going to be okay Hallelujah ! (cheers) :-)
Viking Warrior Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 The nav man has spoken . I think saint Donovan might be s skate wind up merchant or alpines long lost cousin . Apologies if I'm wrong
Dig Dig Posted 5 April, 2012 Posted 5 April, 2012 But what if VMAN is in on the clubs conspiracy to hide the truth from the fans? I haven't been more convinced he won't play since Adkins said he would earlier today.
