Any news on Lambert?

Nobody will know until 12 on Saturday when the team sheets are out.

We dont release injury news.

Even if Adkins is hopeful of Lambert being fit... he was hopeful for about a month when Lallana was injured.

Its annoying but it keeps the opposition guessing.

I reckon he'll be on the bench as said before, as huge as this game is for us, if Lambert plays with an injury he's gunna get the sh*t kicked out of him by the c*nts so in terms of out league form it may be worth playing with one up front? 4-4-1-1 with chappers as an attacking midfielder? The question is, who'd you put up front in that situation?

Reckon he'll start on the bench on Saturday' date=' if he's fit; only to be used in an emergency![/quote']

I really doubt that if he's fit enough for the bench, he won't start. Adkins is not the type of manager to put unfit players on the bench, even if they have niggles.

It's worrying. Most of our longer term injuries this year (Lallana, Chaplow, Lee) seem to have been characterized by silence from the club.

And if it is a pelvic injury, they can certainly take time.

Lambert will play sat.

So how does that fit in this case? The Club have come out and said quite a lot about Lambert. So based on your conclusions this would not be a long term injury.

By the way where did all this stuff come about from on Saturday that Lambert did not travel up to Blackpool on the plane? The interviews with Adkins make it quite clear that the team travelled to Blackpool by coach, not plane (and I don't just mean the short journey from Manc airport or wherever to Blackpool, but all the way).

All they've said about Lambert, unless I've missed something, is that he doesn't need an operation. That doesn't mean it isn't a longer term injury. My concern was based on the fact that the club said very little about the injuries to Lallana, Chaplow and Lee - all of which turned out to be longer term.

As far as your second paragraph is concerned, I gave up trying to follow all the different "stories."

The team flew to manc as chaplow tweeted about flying there on Friday from Southampton.

Get a grip people FFS. There is no negative undertone to that article that I could see, if anything that was one of the most open injury updates we've had under NA. sounded fairly optimistic that he will be back.

I've just found the article - it wasn't on my news feed. Sounds "guardedly optimistic" to me so I hope he's alright because we are nothing like the same team without him.

My thoughts entirely. He'll either start then come off if were 2 or 3 up or come on as a sub. Probably same with Palace. He wont risk him and we'll put everything into the Reading game. Cant see him playing 3 games in 6 days.

To me it strikes of typical Adkins speak for "he's not fit". No doubt he'll say he was close but not quite there. It's the one thing that I dislike about him, the way we are never told the truth about injuries etc. Some truth wouldn't go amiss at times.
If true, then I really don't get the logic, same as the situation with Lallana back in the autumn. Surely it'd be much better for us for everyone to think he's going to be out, then us have the lift just before kick off to find out he is playing, rather than the opposite happening? Can't think of much better for giving the opposition a lift in the hour before kick off to hear Lambert isn't playing.

Also gives them less time to come up with a Plan B & C depending on who his replacement might be.

Our players will have a pretty good idea what is happening and will be ready for all situations ahead of the game.

It's not done for a mental boost. It's a tactical thing.

Teams know full well our two main threats are Lambert and Lallana and will spend all week planning accordingly how to stop them. Players will have specific instructions and certain roles to play. Then to find out an hour before the game they're actually not playing is going to throw them.

I like it that Adkins keeps his cards close to his chest and I don't understand why people on here think they have some divine right to be privy to the confidential going on's behind the scenes.

You don't think they'd already be thinking of how to set up if Lambert isn't palying? Or course they'd have a Plan B etc ready.

Yeah, it clearly threw Blackpool's game plan all over the place?
