Embarassed? No! Relieved it was only 3 against Blackpool and to be honest I am desperate for Saturday to come so that we can rid ourselves of the horrible taste left by this defeat and then get back to the business of securing the necessary points required to make our return to the prem assured. Saturday cannot come quick enough!

Ok it was a very bad 90 minutes. But hey we have not had to many of them this season.

We are top of the league and our football at times has been amazing. Over the season we have played the bet football and been most consistent.

How the heck can we moan, the last 18 months have been brilliant. Beat the skates and beat Palace and I think we are up. Not going to be easy, but really do think 2 wins will be enough, but we will get 3.

I still can't believe how poor we were. The defeat was one thing but to lose in that manner was a real eye opener. Nobody played well and the tactics were all wrong.

Still, Saints have done this before, especially away from home north of Watford.

It was a great match for those who didn't play in it. Expect the return of Hammond, Harding, Puncheon, Richardson and (hopefully), SRL?

I have been telling everybody only barely interested in footie to watch us on the beeb this week. I woke up this morning feeling like I had done a streak at me grans 90th birthday party !!

It is my little nephews that I feel for. :(

Before my Sis divorced her nutcase ex husband, and they came back into my life again, my nephews were quite happy being plastic Man Utd fans.

When they started coming down from Cornwall to stay for school holidays, good old uncle *Halo* began taking them to St. Mary's to see the mighty Saints. Now converted Saints, but still living in Cornwall, the only times they normally get to watch us, is on tv, and relatively infrequent visits to SMS when they come to stay.

I text our youngest on friday to say Saints are on tv, and he text back "Yes! Can't wait to watch us! Thanks!"

And then there's the aftermath: "Not fair. Top and always winning until I watch and we are useless and lose. Friends all laughing at me now. :( "

After the game, I told him it's probably best if I don't tell him when we're on tv next time, as he always gets so upset when we lose.

I wanted to say "keep the faith, we'll stuff the Skates, go on to win this league and get back where we belong", but although I believe it myself, don't want to get his hopes up only to risk having them dashed again.

In my heart, I know I've done a good thing, turning them to the Red and White "side of The Force", as they actually get to watch their team playing real live in the flesh football at SMS from time to time, and it gives them something to look forward to; rather than just watching mancs on MOTD.

I know that our Club is going places, and will become something they can be proud of. But at times like yesterday, when we turn out abject dross on the rare times my little ones get to watch; followed by upset lost little voices on the end of the phone, I do sometimes wonder, what have I done? :uhoh: :)

We will get promoted and they will happy.

Then next season they will get the chance to go to games that their little glory hunter friends could only dream about.

keep the faith. I had this one down as a lose anyway :)

I was embarrassed by some of the ridiculous fancy dress. Red and white Mohican wigs, masks, fake beards and the worst of the lot the red gimp suits were out in force.

It's OK dear, I'm sure the nation won't linger on it as much as you will. Blackpool fans: now THERE was some ridiculous attire.

Anyway I wasn't embarassed either (despite dragging some neutrals to watch the game), only thing I felt was frustration that we spurned the chance to stick one foot in the Prem.

Nothing to be embarrassed about, just one of those things: just a bit of a pig it was on national TV.

I have a Manc mate who came with me to Brum (cos we was working up there), last night he txt me to say he has watched Saints twice now and is yet to see Saints score......................... I have already put £100 in the post to take his wife out for dinner on Friday the 13th!!

No not embarrassed, just disappointed that we haven't played anywhere near our best football while on TV. That aside, I couldn't care less so long as we get promoted. We all know we've been outstanding, who cares what other fans think...

Embarrassed? Top of the league, acclaimed to be the best side in the division, only just up from div1, Christ, what is with some people.

Who cares about people watching us to be impressed, i'm impressed.

Speak to the fans of WHU and they will tell you about the football they have been watching.

And Reading fans will tell you they dont understand how they are winning every game because they aint that good.

We are Southampton, **** me, We're top of the league!

dreadfully embarrassed, the only better than average performance we've had on TV this year was leeds at home first day of the season

We are sh!t without Lambert, it's that simple. If ever there was a one man team it's us.

he does alot more than score goals, granted, but explain how we scored 2 against donny after he went off?

Embarrassed NO ! ..disappointed YES!

I think I would've thought twice before broadcasting that to my frinds and neighbours when faced with an away game at Blackpool, and I would have been satisfied to have come away with one point (and I suspect too, so would have Nigel Adkins).

However, we are still top of the league and we have no Divine Right to win every game. IMHO such a poor result is expected once in a while

and will surely go a long way to proving to the players that - we 'aint quite there YET !

Yes I was embarrassed by it all, reminds me of the old days when we could beat any of the top teams, and loose to the bottom ones, especially when we have all seen some magic football over recent seasons

and yes we have won games without Ricky before
