Going to the Pompey game and leaving at 4 in the morning from Paris and getting to Southampton by car via the euro tunnel. Going there with 2 french mates of mine, I m in block 11 next to the Chapel stand.

As I ve always been next to the Northan stand where it is pretty loud, does anyone who is used to sitting around where I am if the atmosphere is good at that part of the ground?

I was in the Chapel for the FA cup game against P and wasn't expecting much - but the atmosphere was electric. There were two old grannies just in front of me, so I was thinking about minding my language, but no sooner had I thought this they were up on their feet shouting abuse at the skates.

Don't worry everyone knows this is the one we want to win, the whole ground will be up for it!

worry not my friend...the ground will be rocking for this one.

when lambert equalised in the cup game I was pushed about 5 rows forward...I was say in block 1 then

in the video, as lambert scores look at the saints fans rush towards the skates at the top of the screen...that was where I was...madness there..

we hammered them for about an hour and such a shame they went on to win..

just let rip wherever you are sat.

it is going to be tense, as big a game as 1984

Hope it's as painful for them as it was then too! As to letting rip? nobody will smell it because of the stench of rotten fish.

It's going to be fu cking immense. Everyone is so, so up for it, knowing that it could nail their coffin shut and send us one step closer to going up.

Don't worry about The Chapel. Last time we played them it was loud, poisonous and evil.

As one of the old boys who sit in the Chapel I can vouch that it gets like that.

Put is this way mate, when we played Man Utd I was in the Chapel but **** really did hit the fan

Agreed

I'm going to be in the Chapel and I'm going to be going ****ing mental, even the Chapel gets lairy when the occasion requires.

It's become more like that this season due to the pricing structure there are more vocal fans in there now and I love it!

Just one thing, if the DFCSBs launch themselves across the pitch at the Chapel and get past the Police and stewards then Women and Kids to the back please, gents prepare to repel boarders.

Bugger that, stay in your seat, you'll get a better view of them getting eaten by the police dogs!

Just hope the crusty old git who tells us the north car park is closed to home supporters doesn't try the let's turn the stadium speakers up to drown out the noise of the crowd pre match like they have in the past.

I always remember the league cup game a few years ago when they tried that, talk about piddling into the wind, the atmosphere was bristling that night: you could have wired the stands up to the national grid that night and generated enough electricity to power Hampshire for a week.

No matter where you sit, the stadium will be whipped up into a frenzy next Saturday lunchtime never fear: even the those equipped with Tartan rugs and flasks of hot tea who frequent the Kingsland.

;)
