Know I'll get crucified for this...and yes, know I wasn't even there. However, watched live on the box here with other Saints fans and my heart goes out to those poor fans that traveled to Blackpool.

That performance (or lack of it) was 100% SOUL DESTROYING and the worst conceivable preparation for the crucial derby, let alone promotion run in. Don't want to hear 'we have good games this season', 'it is only one game' blah blah excuse excuse etc.

This showing was unacceptable full-stop. Here is the rationale...No pride! No heart! No sense of urgency! No (hate using this term) 'passion'. And absolutely gutless, clueless and 'bad practice match' application. Players were playing back 4 possession and back passing to Kelvin at the end of the game??

Message for those of you admirable supporters that went today - the players and coaching staff of Southampton Football Club stole your money and cheated you today...The team gave more than that when we had those two Dutch muppets and were in a downward spiral to administration.

This league is here for the taking, so stopping attempting to emulate 48-49 and close it out for goodness sake. This was amateur, sorry do not want to insult amateurs - this was 'unprofessional'!!

KD - A good stop, but back to his indecisive worst.

Fox - Missing in action and poor delivery

Jose - Dobbie's b!tch

Jos - Hoofed it almost every time.

Butterfield - Inadequate

Chaplow - We normally do well when he plays, not sure why - not very good is he (lucky charm effect I guess sometimes)

Cork - Adequate...possibly

Schneid - Inneffective

Adam - Did he play?

GDP - 'Shakes head in disbelief'

Sharp - (Maybe NA's fault) Should've been subbed after that ab0rtion of a peno

Steve - P-urlease, one decent run, had 20 yards in front of him towards goal and put in a lame cross to nobody instead of drawing the defence and giving someone an easy tap in???

Barnard - ??? Why didn't we just put him in after Sharp missed, because from that moment we effectively played with 10 men.

NA & Staff - The team got beat 3-0, Holloway beat you be-atches about 8-0....totally out-coached.

The only people that can leave Blackpool with a clear conscience are our magnificent fans.

Excuse me but what about the 23 games this team have won this season scoring the most goals? Yes a bad performance but ffs we have only lost eight games out of FORTY in our first season back up. Get a grip, we are still top and 6 clear (7 with goal difference) clear of third. Have some perspective.

Mate, totally disagree with you on the first bit - a very poor performance will mean (you'd hope) that they will want to make amends and therefore destroy the skates. That's my logic anyway.

Totally agree with you on the second bit though!

You make a good point sir and I respect it, just from our prospective, this is the most important part of Saints history post 1st May 1976. We go into a crucial derby next week on the back of a SOUL DESTROYING b!tch-slapping and then start to prepare for the most critical of top-of-the-table clashes against our toughest opponent and that is not including the threat a trip to Palace poses.

Unprofessional, bad strategy - then worse tactics, not one positive to take out of that unless you choose to use the horrible 'well we could not do any worse' that is.

Pompey have had an even worse result than us today, so by your logic they will be even more "soul destroyed" than us surely?

Saints always play like that - it pulls the opposition players out of their half to create some space. When you are playing a team that is 3-0 up, they tend to sit back (same thing happens when teams visit St Mary's - they are usually happy to come away with a clean sheet), so Saints play it around the back 5, which entices their forwards towards our goal. The passing also (not this time though!) helps us gain momentum.

We'll be second for the next couple of weeks and then slip to 3rd. We are not going up automatically. People are going to be very disappointed if they think otherwise.

And you will obviously be very disappointed if we do go up....distraught i would wager....TROLLING ATTENTION SEEKER....SKATE?

This is the second negative post of yours today - are you playing devil's advocate or are you Alpine in disguise? Avatar well chosen.

Why do you insist on starting your own thread all the time ? There is a match reaction thread.

Hello mate...click my name - then 'forum posts', it'll tell you one of two things (re: your "all the time" statement) 1. You are confusing me with someone else. 2. You are lying...either way, an apology will be the correct thing to do. Now don't go getting all reactionary or defensive, just be adult, admit you're wrong and we can all play nicely together again. Peace bro'...

I was at the game, and yes - it was disappointing.

However, it's one game - and I don't believe that the team has suddenly become permanently crap overnight. Everyone has a bad day at the office, footballers included. I'd love to tell you that my career has been an unbroken run of success, with each day better than the last.

Sometimes that doesn't happen, and the correct thing to do in that circumstance is to analyse wtf went wrong and try and put it right the next time out.

I saw our team getting beaten 3-0 at Bloomfield Road in a fairly woeful display and cheered my heart out for them. Why? Well first, I knew that the performance didn't reflect the normal high standards of the team. Also, we were sitting top of the league with 2pts to spare in the title race and 6pts above 3rd place. We're not in that position because we're crap, so forgive me if I don't boo the team, and understand that I'm not going to be buying any plastic bedding for any Saints-related nocturnal micturations.

We are going up as champions.
