Saint Without a Halo Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 (edited) this is poor I hope we can re group for the last 6 we need 4 wins from 6 now Edited 31 March, 2012 by Saint Without a Halo
Legod Third Coming Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Result of a missed penalty from us and them getting an iffy one straight afterwards. Moral destroyed, thanks Billy. That didn't help but the second killed us. It was a hopeful punt badly defended by our usually reliable CBs.
shurlock Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 sharp just can't hold the ball up, ever. That's what has killed us - still surprised we never signed a target man as backup for lambert. Saying that, Sharp often played as a lone striker for Donny, so he must have something in his locker.
Chez Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Take off our best player and leave on Sharp - dear oh dearBilly Blunt someone said before. Never seen such an unthreatening striker in all my days. If that doesn't make him score I don't know what will. Skate to come on.
CanadaSaint Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 I don't think Fonte and Butterfield combined would score 4 in the match ratings. Adding Sharp might make it 6.
CWD Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Wont lose any sleep on the defeat today - 1st in 13? Still 6 ahead of 3rd with 6 to play COYR True, and it is by no means the end of our season. But that doesn't take away the fact that today's performance has been completely unacceptable. Blackpool aren't anything special, just well organised, more dynamic and seem to want it more.
Dr Who? Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Blackpool leak goals left right and centre, but we cannot get one...... I give up trying to work out football.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Typical DM we are 3-0 down and he says a point here would have been good!
Special K Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 sharp just can't hold the ball up, ever. Hopefully he'll come good, but today he's been dreadful.
shurlock Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 with this result reading will prob be top friday night, if only we could have managed a draw. Glad guly gone off, he's crap and i dont care wot colour he is, he's still sh1t. I can name a handful of players who've been worse than Guly today - Sharp included.
Window Cleaner Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Billy Blunt someone said before. Never seen such an unthreatening striker in all my days. If that doesn't make him score I don't know what will. Skate to come on. At least he's Billy Blunt now, apparently he was Billy Bunter when he arrived.
verlaine1979 Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Result of a missed penalty from us and them getting an iffy one straight afterwards. Moral destroyed, thanks Billy. Not quite - we've been nervy and slow for weeks. The pens didn't help, but this performance is very much in line with recent ones, we've just come up against a better side who can finish (or going back to the Leeds game, KD hasn't been able to perform miracles today).
Wildgoose Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Yeah, because only Saints lose games. Other league winning teams do so with perfect winning records. Yep, it happens to the best. We've done it to Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal etc etc in the past and more than once. That's football. I reckon it's a wake up call for us, we normally respond well after something like this......
Red and White Russ Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Wont lose any sleep on the defeat today - 1st in 13? Still 6 ahead of 3rd with 6 to play COYR Doesn't sound too rosy if we lose our next game. Only 3 points ahead with 5 games to go would be very squeeky bum time.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Blackpool leak goals left right and centre, but we cannot get one...... I give up trying to work out football. I think even Westham managed to score 4 at blackpool
Chez Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 That's what has killed us - still surprised we never signed a target man as backup for lambert. Saying that, Sharp often played as a lone striker for Donny, so he must have something in his locker.he doesn't and never had. He's a luxury player. He scores 1 in 3 and does **** all else. Goal hanger with no pace.
Dig Dig Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 We've responded well to defeats this season, an awful dejected Pompey next..... They can feel our wrath
captainchris Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 I would have said nervous rather than lazy Whilst you may have a point, nervous players can still work hard and we haven't.....
dubai_phil Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Still, look on the bright side. At least Phil won't have to eat the slop next week. (apologies if this has already been said) Tonights offering was actually delicious Will post a pic on loung later
Lazlo78 Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 The nuns called. They couldn't make it to the match thread today, 'cause they're jamming REM's "Losing My Religion"...
carljack Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 I can name a handful of players who've been worse than Guly today - Sharp included. Lallana Cork are just about par the rest have gone MIA
JustMike Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Can someone teach Billy Sharp the offside rule... To be fair he was given offside twice today when he wasn't, at least he tries and moves unlike that other piece of **** upfront with him for most of the game
Legod Third Coming Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Hopefully he'll come good, but today he's been dreadful. Personally I think he is struggling to come to terms with playing understudy.
Wildgoose Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 I don't understand why people are so hard on Guly, he's done better than many of our side today....
Dr Who? Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 I hope somebody is rubbing Lambert's groin.... I will do it.
Under Weststand Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Oh well went out for a lucky Kebab! didn't work then. Bad day at the office draw a thick line under it & move on to the next game. We had 2 good chances to score before they did, Jos had a great chance to get us back into the game just before half time. Just not our day! Shame but not a surprise really. How we react next week is the important thing.
Window Cleaner Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Typical DM we are 3-0 down and he says a point here would have been good! He's a knob, when we're winning or playing well you can sort of ignore him but when the football isn't so great he's unsupportable. Whines like Ena Sharples or Minnie Longhurst.
um pahars Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 I don't think Fonte and Butterfield combined would score 4 in the match ratings. Adding Sharp might make it 6. Butterfield would get an 8 from me if you added us score to Jose, Jos and Fox as well. Midfield similar, Sharp 3 & Guly 3. De Ridder 2 Whole team maybe 30/110, only cos Kelvin gets 8
Avenue Saint Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Anyone tried a prayer yet? Probably not, here goes... Please God, 1 goal would be nice?
ThreeSixty Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 he doesn't and never had. He's a luxury player. He scores 1 in 3 and does **** all else. Goal hanger with no pace. 1 in 3? Looking at his record i think your math is poor.
brongal Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Billy Blunt - let's hope that that is not Cockney Rhyming slang
SOTONS EAST SIDE Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Got to be one of the worst performances this season!
gaz Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Best log off now before the doom-mongers and wrist slitters migrate over to the post-match thread.
dubai_phil Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Blimey the former owner's missus/daughter is well fit
Pugwash Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 It's the manner of the defeat that's so galling. Lazy passes, no vision, no pace, wrong subs, wrong tactics, same old crap performance on TV
Legod Third Coming Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Got to be one of the worst performances this season! One of?
Avenue Saint Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Best log off now before the doom-mongers and wrist slitters migrate over to the post-match thread. Too true
Suhari Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Onto more important things: Kebab now, then home or, keep drinking and phone Dominos later?
Bald Headed Jesus Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Conclusive proof if any were required that Lambert is our player of the season
Dr Who? Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Well bring on the skates. We might not be top when we kick off against them.
dubai_phil Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 On the bright side thank God Al Jism did not show it - I'd have been down the pub paying 7.50 a pint is there a fire drill?
Window Cleaner Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Poor old Dave, he just won't admit that Billy isn't up to the job. And to think I thought that with the arrival of Sharp+ Lee we'd reinforced the strikers.
