CanadaSaint Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Just back from cleaning myself up after reading thread title and realizing that it's an almost direct parallel to 1949 when we lost our main striker, blew a mega-point lead and missed out on promotion (see Fitzhugh's post a while back). Anxiously awaiting A) confirmation that it's ****** or B) a win, and ideally both.

Dig Dig Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Sibley posting staring line up on twitter in about 5 mins...
Window Cleaner Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Sibley posting staring line up on twitter in about 5 mins... must be about now then, mind you with the forum clock at least an hour adrift you never know.
Viking Warrior Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 So the threads I have read are that, Davis lambert , jos are out . There are some wind up merchants about this week
dune Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Sibley posting staring line up on twitter in about 5 mins... No lambert then.
dune Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Saints Vs Blackpool: Davis. Butterfield, Fonte©, Hooiveld, Fox. Chaplow, Schneiderlin, Cork, Lallana. Guly, Sharp #saintsfc
Lifelongsaint83 Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Lambert is out but doesnt mean to say out for the season
RobM Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 No Lambo Indeed, let's hope the reasons are coming soon.
silversaint Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Not on the bench. Says he's injured. No details on how long.
Window Cleaner Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Lambert is out but doesnt mean to say out for the season But it could well,CFSFC might just be right mightent he? It wouldn't surprise me as he hasn't a history of posting crap.
jawillwill Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Rested for Pompey? A masterstroke by Adkins IMO.
Matthew Le God Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Some of you might owe this boy an apology He hasn't (as of yet) been confirmed as out for the season. Regardless of that, the opening poster still wasn't correct in all he said. For example saying the squad travelled to Blackpool today by plane.
RobM Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Rested for Pompey? A masterstroke by Adkins IMO. Confirmed as an injury. No word yet on what or how bad.
Lifelongsaint83 Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 But it could well,CFSFC might just be right mightent he? It wouldn't surprise me as he hasn't a history of posting crap. If he had an op and was out for the season I think there would have been an annoucement by now...Its too big a story for it not to be
Thedelldays Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 I would like to think he is just not fit enough for the game and is being protected for the big easter weekend
SaintBobby Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Blimey. My apols. I thought the story had been thoroughly debunked by others. Bad news.
buctootim Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Some of you might owe this boy an apology Quite. A lad posted something he heard and gets slated by people old enough to know better - who then slink off when it appears the lad was right and they were wrong. And people wonder why some dont post.
RobM Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 If he had an op and was out for the season I think there would have been an annoucement by now...Its too big a story for it not to be Saints like to keep lineups close to their chest until the very last minute, so that'll be why nothing has been mentioned officially. Now it's official that Lambert isn't in the squad, I'm sure the announcement will follow soon, if he's out for the rest of the season.
Um Bongo Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 He hasn't (as of yet) been confirmed as out for the season. Regardless of that, the opening poster still wasn't correct in all he said. For example saying the squad travelled to Blackpool today by plane. Give it a rest.
Saint Troy Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 if hes out for the season adkins wouldnt release it until after the blackpool game. very keen to keep his cards close to his chest for each game and so wouldnt give anything away about the team. A team vs saints will defensively concentrate on playing vs Lambert as he is the top scorer by miles in the league.
Ewell Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Some of you might owe this boy an apology Yep, the witch hunt is over and there have certainly been some moronic posts on this thread. Well done OP.
CFSFC Posted 31 March, 2012 Author Posted 31 March, 2012 Was hoping to be proved incorrect - let's just hope they can rush him back.
buctootim Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 I would like to think he is just not fit enough for the game and is being protected for the big easter weekend He's been carrying some kind of hip / groin injury since at least the infamous Pardew preseason. Wouldnt surprise me if the club have taken the opportunity to get him sorted well in advance of next season - given Sharp and Chung have both proved they can do the job.
CFSFC Posted 31 March, 2012 Author Posted 31 March, 2012 He hasn't (as of yet) been confirmed as out for the season. Regardless of that, the opening poster still wasn't correct in all he said. For example saying the squad travelled to Blackpool today by plane. Sorry I got the day wrong. Clutching at straws springs to mind.
VectisSaint Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 yes, got 08 plate alfa romeo...gone diesel now, constantly filling up my previous car cost a fortune (3.5 v6) OMG, got semething in common with TDD, new Alfa Giulietta today, but not an 08 plate, try a 12 (or whatever it would be if I didn't have my own plate). Also gone back to a dirty diesel, now if only I could find a garage that has some diesel for sale.
Lord Duckhunter Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 He's been carrying some kind of hip / groin injury since at least the infamous Pardew preseason. Wouldnt surprise me if the club have taken the opportunity to get him sorted well in advance of next season - given Sharp and Chung have both proved they can do the job. Unbelievable risk if so, that is really taking promtion for granted.
Matthew Le God Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Sorry I got the day wrong. Clutching springs to mind. Well you have to understand getting that bit wrong may have raised doubts in people's minds.
S-Clarke Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 He's been carrying some kind of hip / groin injury since at least the infamous Pardew preseason. Wouldnt surprise me if the club have taken the opportunity to get him sorted well in advance of next season - given Sharp and Chung have both proved they can do the job. If we were already promoted that would sound feasible, but with such a long way to go and so many things undecided that is too big a risk to take. If he could carry on until the summer with injections then we'd keep him going, I'm sure of it.
scotty Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 I guess we will know for sure when teams announced. Untold hen can we keep it civil please. "Untold hen"?? I thought we weren't supposed to be counting our chickens.
buctootim Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Unbelievable risk if so, that is really taking promtion for granted. Depends how bad the injury is, whether RL would have been playing at such reduced capacity that Sharp / Chung would be better bets and whether playing is going to aggravate it and cause long term damage. Questions neither of us have the answer to but the club does in making the decision.
CFSFC Posted 31 March, 2012 Author Posted 31 March, 2012 Well you have to understand getting that bit wrong may have raised doubts in people's minds. Couldn't give a sheet to be fair.
Ken Tone Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 The trouble is, Adkins is so keen on keeping things secret (and I don't blame him) that we may not be clear for some time. After all, after the last game he laughed and said Lambert would be fit for today. My nerves are getting more frazzled by the minute
Badger Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 first the club is for sale for £25m now our main man is out for the rest of the season dark forces are at work here lol Are you suggesting that he is not injured but just found chained and padlocked in a kit bag ?

I guarantee a few will argue.
