Saint in Paradise Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 Long but interesting IMHO anyway http://www.greatdanepromilitary.com/SR-71/index.htm
Arizona Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 I'd heard the one about the speed check over Arizona before. Pretty funny, especially as most of the F-16 and F-18 pilots around were c*cky gits.
badgerx16 Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 The only aircraft I know of that is designed to leak fuel whilst on the ground. ( Due the fact that the fuselage panels would only seal properly once they had expanded due to the temperature generated by friction as it flew ).
OLYMPIC Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 Great aircraft and did i hear that they only fuel it with the proper fuel it runs on when it's airbourne. How a warplane should look mean as anything.

How a warplane should look mean as anything. Because of the fuselage sealing issue, they could only fuel it up fully in mid-air, once the whole structure had heated up and stabilised.
