Thedelldays Posted 30 March, 2012 Posted 30 March, 2012 will all the prem players roll out the "pray for stillian" T-shirts and use twitter to demonstrate how upset they are for him..? doubt it
Hatch Posted 30 March, 2012 Posted 30 March, 2012 Think this is the same as my uncle was diagnosed with, he was gone within a few weeks. Get well soon Mr Petrov.
saintscottofthenortham Posted 30 March, 2012 Posted 30 March, 2012 A horrible disease. My Mum was diagnosed 2 years ago and it has been a uphill battle to try and manage her meds with everyday life. Even everyday life, isn't a patch on what it once was. Feel deeply for Petrov and his family, they have a long hard road ahead, but hopefully they will be able to bring his condition to a manageable level.

InvictaSaint Posted 30 March, 2012 Posted 30 March, 2012 Stiliyan Petrov of Aston Villa diagnosed with acute leukaemia. All the very best to him in fighting this awful condition.
Frank's cousin Posted 30 March, 2012 Posted 30 March, 2012 Very sad - prognosis kind of depends on what type AML, ALL, APL etc... and what sub types. My Mrs had ALL at 21 - chemo, radio, Bone Marrow transplant and fine fit and dandy 18 years later so its not all bad.. wish him and family all the very best - going to be interesting for him getting a drugs test when he's back playing again... you get given shed loads of steroids and not sure how long their metabolites hang around in the system - but at least he'll have a genuine excuse All the best Stilyan!
Saint_clark Posted 31 March, 2012 Posted 31 March, 2012 Celtic manager Neil Lennon: "Absolutely inconsolable here regarding Stiliyan. Social Networking does my head in nowadays. Good luck to Petrov.

Barry the Badger Posted 4 August, 2012 Posted 4 August, 2012 Excellent news. My girlfriend was diagnosed AML a few years back so I've been following his progress pretty closely, honestly the treatment is f*cking brutal, she came through it though (twice) and hopefully this is the start of Petrov's recovery.
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 17 April, 2013 Posted 17 April, 2013 Gosh the guy looks really unwell still if that photo is recent. Great news that he is in remission, and finished with the harshest treatments. Long may his recovery continue. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22184198
