First fixture next season...

IF we can hold out for promotion then who would you want first?

Someone winnable maybe. Norwich at home say?

I'd probably go with Newcastle at home to play a big team with a chance of getting something from.

Surely we as fans are entitled to dream a little now!

I think these threads really are getting ahead of ourselves a bit, if we saw this on a Wham forum we'd really be wetting our knickers over it.

But in the spirit of good humour, IF we go up I'd like Everton at home first. They always start the season crap and I want revenge for 2005, even if Bent isn't there any more.

Friday afternoon and I'm dead bored.

Everton is a good shout though.

On the basis of promotion of course!

Stupid thread. We've got plenty of games of football over the next month if you REALLY want someting to talk about so much.

Vs Lincoln City away after Kelvin misses a 94th min penalty vs Coventry to send Pompey down, pompey then throw their toys out of the pram say we fixed the league. and in usual FL style they make up a new rule stripping us of our title, relegating us 3 divisions and letting TCWTB whip Matt Le Tissier through the streets of Aylesbury....

I can't believe the number of Saints fans who have counted their chickens already. It's still March for crying out load - there is a long way to go before we clinch it. Anything can still happen.

I usually don't post on threads if i don't like the topic, but i've finally bitten on this one after a long line of arrogant "we're already promoted" trends. Think i might have to stay off this forum for a while as these threads are starting to become more and more frequent. Some fans really are setting themselves up for a fall.

I've got family in Lincoln, that would be pretty convenient.

I've edited my original post as I did not want this thread to read as arrogant. And its hardly planning a promotion party is it. Surely we are in a position to look at a potential season in the Premiership as fans. Everyone knows we have seven big games yet to get through but christ surely were entitled to dream about what COULD happen next season.

Write what you want mate. One day people might realise that what is written on here has no bearing whatsoever on what happens on the pitch.

Fair question, I'm sure a lot of fans have been talking about this after a beer or six.

Villa away for me.

Still seven cup finals ahead of us though.

Blimey some folks are really tempting the Murray Walker "he has a clear track in front of him to the chequered flag...............................WOW: he has totally lost control of the car and its turning over and over" chickens counted backlash here.

This, this, this and fvkin this.....!!!!

Oh btw - when we get promoted, after we've won the champions league 2 years from now do you think that NC will maintain any interest in the club - or just sell it?

As the OP says, we're allowed to dream, but I almost can't bear to look at the threads currently on the front page of the forum:

- Does anyone think we wont go up ?

- First fixture next season...

- Songs for promotion

- Penalties if and when we're Champions

- If we go up, what away games would you want to go to?

- Etc.

If I was a Hammers or Royals fan, I'd tick off the "parts of fanbase getting ahead of themselves" box in the evaluation of Saints ;)

I think if I was a Hammers or Royals fan and my team had led the league for almost 3/4 of the season I would be starting threads like this one! It's too easy to get ahead of ourselves, but come on, we're having a brilliant time for once!

And FWIW, Swansea at home please. Proper good match between 2 passing teams in the summer sun! Purfick.

I s'pose you're right. Kudos to those happily saying before the season that we'd be promoted. They of all people have probably enjoyed this season the most ;)

I'm firmly in the "we're Saints and until it's mathematically proven that we won't, we'll screw up somehow" camp... just deeply rooted in me...

Charlton are 8 points clear of 3rd place with 7 games to go. They have 4 points from their last 4 games and 3rd placed Weds have 10 points from the last 4 games. Still I'd laugh if anyone suggested that Charlton would screw it up - that's the level of inconsistency my mind is working at ;)

Seriously, what is the point in these ridiculous threads? Are some fans trying to deliberately jinx us? There's a long way to go - and even if we were promoted threads like this are utterly pointless...

Don't be stupid, if saints **** it up it will be nothing to do with what people write on an internet forum FFS. Too many of you need to grow a pair and not wet your panties everytime someone dare suggests that we will get promoted.

There's no such thing as jinxing, fate, destiny, faeries, Narnia or santa clause FFS.
