Penalties if and when we're Champions

Just a thought but if we get a penalty IF and when we're crowned Champions, should we let Kelvin take it?? He has been such a fantastic servant to the club and a goal under his belt would just be the cherry on the icing on the cake for someone who will go down as a Saints legend IMO.

It would be nice if my daughter be allowed to take any penalty under th:rolleyes:ese circumstances....

She can kick a ball better than Uncle Kelvin;)

Suggest that if more than one comes our way..share them round the deserving cases..:)

I think season ticket holders should take it, but only one's that don't leave early or eat vegetarian food. After that, season ticket holders plus ones (same rules re leaving early and vegi food), then two weeks later it can go to general supporters who have been to 7 or more away games BUT they must collect the ball themselves.

We should let all the Japanese fans come on the pitch to take the penalty but in fact it will actually be a trap. Once they're all on the pitch, the police can rush on and arrest them all for invading the pitch. Issue them with lifetime bans and job done. SMS will be purged of the Japanese, placard waving, bandwagon jumping nutters.

Excellent idea. Raffle them off for charity, or all donations to The Saints Foundation.

Whilst I can understand the sentiment, it could be interpreted as arrogant and disrespectful of the opposition, a bit like Ronnie O'Sullivan a few years back playing left-handed against whoever-it-was.

Look at who that team is most likely to be - Coventry. They are going to be relegated. Its desperately rude and disrespectful to a team fighting for survival.

Whilst not a fan of or expert on snooker I seem to remember hearing that O'Sullivan is totally ambidextrous and can play with either hand if the ball position requires it.Used to be touted as one of his strengths because it made difficult positions easier.

Pity the bloke has the attention span of a 10 year old girl nowadays.

i would love to see kelvin score but a tiny bit **** taking i think and i would be praying for him to hit the post the rebound to go to one of their team who scores a 70yr goal making us look like deserved muppets! its a good idea but not hugely classy when thought about for a bit.

that said if he tried to backheel it and scored then it would be cool and therefore so **** takey that i wouldnt care.

in summary. if taken normally... Lambert. If back heel.... Kelvin

I've always played in goal, so never scored a goal "in anger". After playing with the same team for about 10 years, we had a penalty, and being 7-0 up, I was invited to take it. After running the length of the pitch to take it, I smacked the kick as hard as I could, it hit the junction of post & bar. The other players where then party to the undignified sight of me sprinting back to the goal, as the ball remained in play. :?

So in answer to the OP's question, NO!

Agreed. Although if Lambert is off the pitch for whatever reason then letting Jose have it is perfectly fine as for all we and they know he's our 2nd penalty taker anyway.

Its kind of a curious thing that we've never actually had a penalty to be taken when Lambert happened to have been subbed or injured for whatever reason actually...

Spot on, we'd look like arrogant pricks letting our keeper take a pen. Not that anyone would ever seriously suggest the idea.

Reading let Murty take a penalty in the last game of their 106 season as he was the only one who hadn't scored in the starting line up or something.

Imagine Pompey being relegated by GD because Kelvin had blasted a penalty to row Z of the Northam in the 96th minute against Coventry.

It's beginning to have appeal already .... but only if these circumstances are in play ...... hell, i reckon even SRLSGM might be tempted to do the same!!

If that was the case then any debate about Kelvin being a legend or not would be over. Get the key to the city back from Le Tiss and give it to Davis!

I had a dream that pomp at home would be some sort of 9-0 fest with them going down to 7 men.

It finishes with their keeper being the 4th man sent off in the 90th with the whole crowd chanting for Kelvin to run up and smash home the 9th goal, which he does followed by a lap of the stands...

Er surely anyone is allowed to support Saints and we should be encouraging more support if we wish to be truly successful. You should learn to be more tolerant.

Who are you to decide who should and should not support the Saints anyway as for your description of the Japanese fans, enough said!

Unbelievably someone has fallen for the bait. Some of the worst tolling ever seen and he still manages to reel someone in.

This list is not exhaustive so letd stick to the rule people and give us a fanbase that is the envy of the world!
