I make it four games.

Peterborough v West Ham and Portsmouth v Hull are the ones you are referring to.

But...

Leicester v Nottm Forest and Crystal Palace v Doncaster have an impact on Pompey's attempt to stay in the league. Forest and Doncaster wins would be nice.

True. And I guess we don't want Palace to get too close to the play-offs before we play them either. (Yes, I know...."Control the Controllables " and all that malarkey)

Cheering on the Posh for a second Tuesday in a row. Pressure will be on West Ham tonight, they need to win to get within striking distance of Reading before Saturday's game. I'd be happy with another draw here, Wham's 6th in a row I think it would be.

Aye West Ham will have too much for Peterborough. They'll bully their way to a scrappy win.

In fact Championship sides with no hope of promotion or no fear of relegation have everything to gain by being beaten by West Ham and only professional pride to lose. Not saying it would be a consideration but if West Ham get promoted they'll get a share of 32 million quid,if Reading or Saints get promoted they'll get an extra diddly squat.

I make it five, want Middlesborough to lose, keep the form in the playoffs poor in case the unthinkable happens.

I wouldn't mind M'ddlesborough losing and falling away in the race for the play-offs -so by the time we get to play them thay will have nothing to aim for....

Now there I'd take the stance that the quicker they cement their play-off place and start gearing up for the play-offs the better it will be for us.With the points spread and saw-toothed results of most sides none of the 2/10th sides will be out of the play-offs

much before the last day.

queue the weekly obsession with West Ham....

I didn't realise you had to wait in a line to be obsessed with West Ham. In any case, it's somewhat understandable don't you think? A West Ham defeat tonight is all but as good as a Saints win against Blackpool.

I think these are some pretty obscure tangents you guys are going off on here. Middlesborough will be there or there abouts for the playoffs at the end of the season. It would take one heck of a collapse in form for them to have nothing to play for when we go up there. Should we end up in the playoffs and play them, a defeat tonight really isn't going mean all that much to them at all.

I'd say the result at Portman Road is the only irrelevant fixture of the evening, if you're interested in Pompey's demise of course.

Yep, if they've secured play off's by the time we turn up there they may well want to take it a little easy so they don't pick up injuries or suspensions.

I can see Peterborough winning tonight. 1-0 to the Posh!

Can only see a WHU win tonight.

Posh usually score a few if they score at all. West hoof only seem to grab the odd goal lately, will be an interesting one. Obviously hoping posh can take the points and a bit of pressure off us...

Are you all saying WHU will win for some kind of superstitious reason? Just doesn't seem that clear cut to me - really think Posh can get something tonight.

I think that's pretty much it. You'd have to be a bit of a muppet to think a team who has failed to win it's last 5 games will just walk through a fixture Reading lost a week ago.

FWIW I also think Wham will win, but it's by no means clear cut.

As for me I just think West Ham will win,no superstition involved whatsoever. Posh have no interest to win and they probably won't.

Awful side, can't see how they beat Reading who must have been knackered or something on that evening.Having said all that football is an unpredictable game.Which is why we all haven't won the pools by now. Do they still exist..the Pools I mean?

however what was the stat for number of years since west hame won a game mid week?

Whenever they beat Blackpool 4-1? it's a home midweek game that they haven't won since Queen Victoria was on the throne.

There are however far less Tuesday games in the Premier league which is probably half the explanation.

Got an awful feeling the skates will stay up.

Me too. Everyone seems to assume they will go down easily with a whimper, but they have as easy a run in as you could wish for with many very winnable games and are seemingly under no pressure due to everyone writing them off
