Channel 4 used to have a highlights package, not sure if they still do though.

Classic England though, a half decent spinner get's a couple of wickets and all of a sudden he's Murili and tears through the entire team. Expect him to do the same in every match for the rest of the tour. Not sure what it is about spinners being able to cast spells over our batsmen.

Take out Bell's & Jawa's scores and they are 2 well matched, but poor, teams.

Another way to look at it is one of their players scored nearly as many as we managed in our entire innings. Doesn't sound too great when phrased like that.

Can't find any highlights on any "normal" channel. Annoying. As for this test - just shows how hard test cricket is to predict, impossible to have called how these innings would go.

highlights here

It's ridiculous that no terrestrial channel has any highlights. There's always some on the internet though. Seems like someone makes up about 10-20 minutes of highlights for each session, and the fact they are up not long after play has finished is almost as impressive as Jimmy Anderson's bowling.

Some terrible shots from our batsmen. Strauss, Pietersen and Trott especially. In fact Trott's dismissal is pretty damn funny, he must have felt like a right knob.

340 to win. Yeah right.

Seems The Bowlers have done well but they've had their foot on the SL throat a few times and just let things slip through their fingers.

be lucky to make it last until lunchtime 2mro

A test England should have won? Sounds like it. Hard part of the world to play cricket in, but sounds like England lacking in a bit of focus and application on this one?

The first innings was where that Test was lost. 264 in the fourth innings was a very credible effort, the biggest ever fourth innings score at Galle (previous was 250-something).

Also, while we bowled very well again, we seemed to lack the energy to finish Sri Lanka off. Their last 4 wickets in each innings added 148 and 100 runs respectively. That's the sort of scenario where a more experienced bowler like Bresnan would have been of more use than a debutant like Samit Patel.

Broad's catch off a no-ball in the second innings cost 50 runs

Worst thing about watching England play cricket is when a team sets a field for KP. Rather than Kev thinking 'Hang on, ill knock it into the gaps for a few overs till they change it back' He puffs out he his chest and says 'Oi, fark off mate, ill show you' and gets out.

Thought we'd win that when Trott and Prior were going well, but one special bit of fielding and the whole game turned again. Brilliant match though and a timely reminder of just how good test cricket can be.
