On the eve of Adkins appointment I said that 'it would never work out,he would be sacked within a year and we should have gone for a big name'

 

I also said 'the 5 year plan was a load of ****** as football is so unpredictable you can't have a plan'

 

And Friday night I was talking about sharp not being fit and he won't get a decent chance until lambert gets injured....less than 24 hours later he bags a brace against Doncaster.

 

I'm sure there's a few more,some of you might even dig some out and make me look even more of a ****,

So I've come to the conclusion that I know fook all about football and I should keep my mouth shut.

Anybody else want to own up to not knowing anything about football,or predictions that bite you on the arse?

I told Chris Marsden (Because I thought he was **** after his first few games), the next time he put a Saints shirt on, he better have bought the ****er from the Shop.

Massively underwhelmed by Adkins, Jamie White one for the future, Poortvliet total football is a godsend, Bale will stay another season. This is off the top of my head... Someone stop me please

Thought Lawrie Mac was a ***** when he got us relegated after taking over from Ted,had me crying my eyes out at Wembley not long after,count nothing in or out, just enjoy the ride!

After WGS left. The re-appointment of Hoddle is a nailed certainty.

 

Mind you that was before the deluded vocal minority hi-jacked the issue and set off a chain of events that plunged us out of the premiership !

Someone once said at an away game 2nd season of his saints spell. "lambert is useless, he can't even jump" that's the winner for me.

Didn't post these all on here but

 

Mikael Nilsson is a quality signing.

 

Redknapp will definitely keep us up.

 

Paul Wotton is a complete waste of time. (That's until I saw him play away from home and he gave absolutely everything trying to win possession for us when we lost the ball, which in that team was every other pass)

 

Mark Draper will be a key player for us.

 

Disagree that Niemi is a better keeper than Paul Jones.

 

I will mention however that I called Leon Best's penalty miss in the play-off SF against Derby 5 mins after he scored that own goal, what with Burley bound to choose him as a penalty taker. Anyone call it sooner? ;)

August 2008 - Watched Poortvliet's kids take apart Birmingham in the League Cup. Thought we'd take the Championship by storm.

 

But then I guess anyone can beat Birmingham...

Yes, I have admitted to getting that spectacularly wrong. However, if we get promoted I can take it and I don't mind if you all take the **** because I will be as happy as anyone !

1. ..The dutch duo is a good thing - in mitigation m'lord, the principle was good, but impossible with kids and hey were perhaps a little naive....

2. .. Woodward is a great move... agin in mitigation m'lord, teh IDEA of transferable skills, all the sports science stuff etc is sound... but the role was never properly defined and it was never going to work with someone like Harry.. funily enough, could see someone like Adkins working really well with someone like woodward, if the roles were properly defined and Adkins wa sresponsible for first team etc....

I was trying to look for my Saints top/Pompey bottom with Rickie as top scorer in this league but only found me wagering £20 on Estonia to win Eurovision 2011. (They came last).

Apparently we still use some of the training regimes implemented by the Dutch duo for the youth teams.

I genuinely thought Rickie wouldn't cut it in the championship, largely as he'd never played there before and was no spring chicken.

 

How happy I am that I couldn't have been more wrong if I tried!!

That was me & the difference is about a stone less in his weight!!! But you said Portvleit was a cracking manager & gonna keep us up!! You also said Rupert Lowe knew what he was doing!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

And whilst I remember - you also said Pardew will get us promoted via the play-offs in his first season......................

I thought leandre Griffit would be a big star for us, especially after he scored against Blackburn.

 

Was pretty chuffed when Burley was appointed manager.(what's he up to now?)

Oh go on! I also seem to remember just after NA was appointed that someone (as above wasn't me) said Lambert wouldn't be able to deal with the quick pass and move football we were playing with the ball pinging around him.

Before the Blackpool home game in 2008 I really did think we could do it with youth!

 

And who knows what would have happened had Lallana not missed sitter after sitter in the first half...that's my defense anyway :spaz:

To be fair I will stand by the fact that had he not been such an arrogant tosser, more fans would have recognised that his approach was not far wrong - financial stability, infrastructure investment, not going stupid in the transfer/wage market etc.... is not that much different to what we are doing now. Had other clubs also followed a similar prodent financial pattern we would have been Ok in the prem... subject to getting managerial stabilty that is....

So, I've called the odd game wrong, and didnt predict P15 W13 D1 L1 at the end of last season (nor did anyone else). Too bad.

Lallana - don't see it he's been out on loan but isn't worth a place in our team.

What is all the fuss about, he's rubbish, couldn't hit a barn door... (MLT pre-season friendly at Salisbury decades ago after he missed 3 one on one's with the City Keeper)

 

There I feel better now. That's not bad in 35 years, I've been right on everything else always ever.

Technically speaking I haven't got this one wrong yet but........ I said David McGoldrick would go on to get more England caps than Lallana and Surman combined. I'll back away from that one.
