The 'bestest' Saints fan

Having read some of the other threads on here I feel its time we all try and work out who the 'bestest' Saints fan is on this forum, its seems to be an issue for alot of morons on here so lets sort it out once and for all so it can be put to bed.

There are some simple rules that the 'bestest' fan has to meet as listed below, obviously this is not a comprehensive list, feel free to add the reason(s) you are the 'bestest' fan there is but only do so if you also meet the below criteria otherwise you can't possibly qualify as the 'bestest' fan.

* First of all you have to have a season ticket, bonus points if you wave it on your way out

* Secondly you have to stay until the very end of each game, excuses such as having to beat traffic, medical/family emergencies just aren't good enough

* You cannot criticise the chairman, manager or any of the players, in particular Guly

* Attending away games is a must, how can you be a 'proper' fan if you don't, you'd be crazy to think otherwise

I think this list as well as any other reasons you supply should suffice for now, we can always add to the list if need be!

I am ruling myself out of being the 'bestest' fan because I do not have a season ticket, I do stay until the end of each game I attend but I dont attend all games, Guly has been **** recently and I haven't been to an away game this season.

All in all I'm a s**t fan compared you other legends out there, I struggle to sleep at night knowing this.

It's obviously Sour Mash or Charming man. By the way, you missed out the bit about knowing which songs are acceptable to sing and which are not.
I didn't want to name myself, but I am happy to take the plaudits and and appreciate the recognition. Many thanks :toppa:

This whole argument is so ridiculous.

Some fans are indeed "better" than others (by which, I mean more fanatical, more loyal and - I guess - more useful to the club).

But we're not all the same and people, of course, have loads of good reasons for not following/supporting the team as much as others do. (living in Dubai or Switzerland or having a low income all strike me as a fairly good reasons for not having a season ticket, for example).

I'm sure there are loads of us who had very good reasons for not being in the 600-700 who travelled to Hull last tuesday - but massive hat tip to those who did.

All in all, if you follow the team home and away and watch every minute of every match, you're a better fan than me.

I'm a season ticket holder, but live and work in London, and often can't really make mid-week games. Quite often could make mid-week games or away games, but can't be arsed.

So, big round of applause to those who do go the extra mile.

I don't take the view that we're all equally good fans, whether we attend games or not, whether we walk out with ten minutes to go or not etc.

The OP is right that he's probably a fairly sh*t fan compared to some of the ultra hard core. If that loses him sleep at night, he needs help.

Just so long as I don't have to put with with a standing rant about how bad Guly is every week I couldn't care less about being the best fan.

There are plays who are good, players who are bad and players with odd expectations. I just don't think a real fan would try and write off Guly as bad as Forte or Paul Wotton as the primary thing to do whilst at football -_-

I thought the OP said it tongue in cheek!

Nah, I thought the OP displayed an unseemly bitterness of spirit.

Despite the bravado of his post, he was clearly cut deep at the weekend when the Northam crew waved their season tickets at him, and again when he tried to mince out early only to be humiliated by pointed chants of "Is There A Fire Drill".

Poor soldier.

I have 35 Saints tattoo's. I wear a stupid red and white top hat and clowns feet. I am covered in badges and die my hair red and white. I only bath once a year and arrive at the game 10 mins into the match as I'm getting ****ed in the pub. I'm so focused on the game that I p**s myself where I stand if the games on. Not only am I the bestest Saints fan, but I am the bestest in the world.
