Bournemouth sack Lee Bradbury

Just heard on Talksport, I know they've not been on a great run recently but slightly surprised. That said following Eddie Howe was always going to be tough, but they are where I would expect them to be - mid-table in L1.

Not where their new owners expect them to be though. They've thrown some serious cash into players over the last 6 months for a club of their size, they should be doing much much better.

Unsurprising, their co-owners think spending a couple of million should guarantee them success, Bradbury wasn't providing it hence got the boot.

Yet another example of the stupidity of some football owners (thankfully not ours), replace the manager that they put faith in with only a few games to go before the end of the season while clearly stating that they will not replace him before the end of the season. Not saying they should have kept him, but to not bring in a replacement for the last few matches to let them take a look at the squad is just plain stupidity. But there you go, what do you expect from a knobhead like Mitchell.

Yep, as S-Clarke said, Bradbury was given a lot of money and he's spent it badly. Fans didn't like his style of football and the results weren't very good.

As for the new man, it's a great job even if you've got to put up with Eddie Mitchell. Lots of money to spend, the big guns in the division will be leaving with poor teams coming down to replace them... It's set up for a play-off push or even automatic places. They'll need someone good though. There's a few naff players in there, but given enough time the new man can build his own squad.

It's a total mess down there.

But, putting Mitchell to one side, Bradbury had spent a lot of money and delivered very little. Very average squad, £800k on Matt Tubbs, plus the fans were beginning to turn on him because of his poor results and style of play.

It's a very good job for someone if they can handle working under Mitchell. Money to spend, time to build a squad if appointed soon after the end of the season as they're planning, three of the big guns (Sheffield Wednesday and United, Charlton, Huddersfield) are all likely to be out of the division, there's poor teams coming down from the Championship... Play-offs and perhaps even automatic promotion is more than possible.

The relationship with the Echo is nothing to worry about really, that'll all be settled soon as AFCB can't afford to miss out on coverage by the Echo, the Echo similarly will lose circulation quickly if they don't do match reports etc.
