Thedelldays Posted 25 March, 2012 Posted 25 March, 2012 over £100m of wasted money woy would have been hounded out by now
pap Posted 25 March, 2012 Posted 25 March, 2012 Similar sentiments have been expressed all over the press this week, especially as League Cup aside, Hodgson was a statistically better manager than Dalglish has turned out to be. Really isn't that hard to work out. He has been given the time due to the fans fond memories of his former exploits. Interestingly, this week's Football Weekly podcast touches on the subject, illustrating that the level of support for Kenny in the younger generation, those with no effective remembrance of how Dalglish made his name, is much less staunch than it is for those fans who do. Personally, I think he has been a disaster for Liverpool. Yes, he has won the League Cup, but that went to penalties. Could easily have been a different result on a different day. Doubt we'd be discussing Dalglish as the current manager if it had gone the other way.
S-Clarke Posted 25 March, 2012 Posted 25 March, 2012 He's made a right mess of that club. The players he has brought in should never be playing for Liverpool, let alone at the fee's he's forked out to get them. 22m for Henderson, seriously? 20m for downing. are you having a laugh? and the best till last - 35/36m for Andy Carroll - what the **** have you been drinking Kenny? It wouldn't be too bad if he's struggled to get them going because he hasn't had the finance, but **** me - they've spent on similar levels as Man City and they have made a royal **** up which has damaged the hell out of that club. A scouser made a point yesterday......A midfield of Maxi, Gerrard, Marrelies and Alqualni was at their disposal at a point last year. Now they have Adam, Downing, Henderson, Kyut across the middle - that's come at an enormous transfer price as well. It's just madness. Anyone else would have been sacked if they'd spent so much but taken the club so far backwards. They're now nothing more than a top 10 team.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 25 March, 2012 Posted 25 March, 2012 they've spent on similar levels as Man City. Man city net spend since season 08/9 = £400m Liverpool net spent for same period = £28m
S-Clarke Posted 25 March, 2012 Posted 25 March, 2012 Man city net spend since season 08/9 = £400m Liverpool net spent for same period = £28m I meant last season, not since 2008!
Glasgow_Saint Posted 25 March, 2012 Posted 25 March, 2012 I meant last season, not since 2008! Since kenny has been at liverpool hes spent £30m net, man city have spent £175m net!!
Crab Lungs Posted 25 March, 2012 Posted 25 March, 2012 One the of the worst players I've ever seen in the Premier League is Jordan Henderson -and that's not even taking into account his £16m transfer fee. Makes the Carroll signing look astute.
Thedelldays Posted 25 March, 2012 Author Posted 25 March, 2012 Since kenny has been at liverpool hes spent £30m net, man city have spent £175m net!! all well and good...but the the way he decided to spend such vast sums.....regardless if it is a net spend or not
Glasgow_Saint Posted 25 March, 2012 Posted 25 March, 2012 all well and good...but the the way he decided to spend such vast sums.....regardless if it is a net spend or not True dat, wasted £'s on average players cant argue with that! However 2 cups this season (maybe) might be enough to keep his job?
Thedelldays Posted 25 March, 2012 Author Posted 25 March, 2012 True dat, wasted £'s on average players cant argue with that! However 2 cups this season (maybe) might be enough to keep his job? would guess so but scraping a carling cup win though...and MILES off the CL spots would be an average season at best.
LGTL Posted 25 March, 2012 Posted 25 March, 2012 I think it's brilliant. I'm struggling to think of a man I hate in football more then that complete idiot Dalglish. Harry perhaps, but then at least he isn't Scottish.
SO5 4BW Posted 26 March, 2012 Posted 26 March, 2012 Worst thing has been his handling of the Suarez/Evra affair. Has taken the siege mentality that managers like to create to ridiculous extremes. If I was an LFC fan I'd have real problems - wanting to support the club's stance - especially against a player from their most hated rivals - but really knowing that the club, managed by their greatest-ever player, is completely in the wrong. Dalglish has been entirely responsible for this. Ferguson more than anyone has used the 'it's us against the world' thing but I think that in this case he wouldn't have defended the indefensible like Dalglish has. Also I hate the way Dalglish is in interviews. I just want one journo to finally grow a pair and tell the grumpy Scottish ***** to learn some manners!
This Charming Man Posted 26 March, 2012 Posted 26 March, 2012 I genuinely don't understand the point of Henderson. Has he ever done anything even half decent on a football pitch?
Thedelldays Posted 1 April, 2012 Author Posted 1 April, 2012 king kenny working his magic still....great team
S-Clarke Posted 1 April, 2012 Posted 1 April, 2012 He needs to go otherwise he'll continue to pull them down the league.
Red Alert Posted 1 April, 2012 Posted 1 April, 2012 Top performance from them today, 11 points behind Newcastle and only 3 points above Norwich and Swansea. Pathetic league performance this season. A lad I play football with genuinely believes Downing is better then Gareth Bale and that Henderson is a better "long term" signing than Sergio Aguero. FFS.
Thedelldays Posted 1 April, 2012 Author Posted 1 April, 2012 why on earth did Andy Carroll dive like that...he had an open goal pretty much very very poor
Window Cleaner Posted 1 April, 2012 Posted 1 April, 2012 (edited) He needs to go otherwise he'll continue to pull them down the league. Because he's a dinosaur who hasn't moved on with the times. I couldn't say for sure but it would seem to me that since they've brought back Gerrard they've been all at sea.Totally over the top player, been finished for a couple of years now. Edited 1 April, 2012 by Window Cleaner
ThreeSixty Posted 1 April, 2012 Posted 1 April, 2012 Embarrassing to football, Liverpool and his legacy. Seeing him say Carroll didn't dive today was hilarious.
pap Posted 2 April, 2012 Posted 2 April, 2012 Ten facts to put Liverpool's dismal league season into perspective. Arf!
Hatch Posted 2 April, 2012 Posted 2 April, 2012 I don't want him sacked, I want him to drag them down further first. How does someone like Spearing get anywhere near a team with Champions League aspirations, he is League 1 standard at best.

How does someone like Spearing get anywhere near a team with Champions League aspirations, he is League 1 standard at best. Well, if he's going to be sacked - I'm now of the opinion that it should happen now. Always been worried about Mr Adkins love for Liverpool FC. He'll be considerably more visible if and when we attain Prem status. Right now, I get the impression that Adkins wouldn't be a big enough "name" for them.
pap Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 Blimey. He really is untouchable. Comolli sacked for poor transfer market activity. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/liverpool/9199540/Liverpool-sack-Director-of-Football-Damien-Comolli-as-owners-react-to-failed-transfer-policy-and-desperate-run-of-results.html

pap Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 kenny has been very poor this season....in all respects Apart from the bank balance, presumably. Just desserts, in my opinion. He militated against Hodgson, got all the money that Hodgson asked for (and more) and League Cup aside, has fecked it up. Looking forward to the Everton vs Liverpool derby this weekend. If he loses that, I think he'll walk.

Moyes has done a fantastic job at Everton, especially for a guy who had the following joke made about him on his appointment. Q: Why did Everton appoint Preston manager David Moyes? A: 'Cos he knows his way to all the first division grounds! From a transfer perspective the two clubs couldn't be further apart. Have to say, Evertonians are way less annoying than Liverpudlians. Any sense of expectation the blue half had disappeared a long time ago.
alpine_saint Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 Hope hes still there when (if) we meet them next season.
Thedelldays Posted 14 April, 2012 Author Posted 14 April, 2012 christ almighty...he is totally screwing liverpool
Wade Garrett Posted 14 April, 2012 Posted 14 April, 2012 christ almighty...he is totally screwing liverpool Is he?
Thedelldays Posted 14 April, 2012 Author Posted 14 April, 2012 Is he? they were shyt.....had to be gift the goals...literally
S-Clarke Posted 14 April, 2012 Posted 14 April, 2012 Is he? To be fair, the success in the cups are glossing over the mess he's made in the bigger picture.
Crazy Diamond Posted 22 April, 2012 Posted 22 April, 2012 Comolli's ineptitude can't be underestimated. When he arrived at Spurs, he sacked Graham Carr, a senior scout. Graham Carr is the man responsible for bringing Cisse, Cabaye and all the other players that could well deliver Champions League football to Newcastle. Oops.
S-Clarke Posted 22 April, 2012 Posted 22 April, 2012 The sooner they get rid of this clown the better for them. But their fans are still oddly blinded by past glories and are saying it's the players fault. Sorry, who brought in the dross? Players like Downing, Charlie Adam and Andy Caroll should not be playing for Liverpool. End of. the fact he spent almost 50m on them is frightening and you have to question his sanity.
SNSUN Posted 23 April, 2012 Posted 23 April, 2012 He's showing the reason why I would never want MLT anywhere near the Saints managerial hotseat. A once club legend potentially ridiculed in the press? No thanks. Liverpool are shocking, I'm hoping Norwich finish above them. (For my missus's sake of course...) That said, if they do go on and win the FA Cup, which is very doable, their season would actually have been rather good!
pap Posted 15 May, 2012 Posted 15 May, 2012 Kenny is over in the US at the moment to explain the season's performance to the owners. Hmm. Will have talked himself out of a job by tomorrow, I reckon. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/may/14/kenny-dalglish-liverpool-owners-future
Window Cleaner Posted 15 May, 2012 Posted 15 May, 2012 Will have talked himself out of a job by tomorrow, I reckon. If they can understand a word he says that is.I can't,don't understand jockspeak at all, just sounds like someone being sick in a drain to me.

pap Posted 15 May, 2012 Posted 15 May, 2012 Has he gone? Rumours on twitter atm. Nothing more substantial.
pap Posted 15 May, 2012 Posted 15 May, 2012 Most substantial thing I've read so far on the subject:- http://www.koptalk.co.uk/201205154458/Liverpool-FC-News/fsg-think-tank-advise-henry-and-co-to-replace-awol-dalglish.html Still not conclusive though.
S-Clarke Posted 15 May, 2012 Posted 15 May, 2012 It would be the right thing to do. He's done worse in the league than Roy did for them, yet the scousers are crying for him to be given more time. It's all to do with his past history and association, and nothing to do with the fact that he's actually a pretty useless manager. He'll hold them back if he stays. Look at the amount of money he's wasted on crap ffs!

Look at the amount of money he's wasted on crap ffs! The missus would have been one of those die-hard Kenny fans, but even she's come around to the idea that he hasn't done too well. I can sort of understand the calls to give him another year, especially given our previous revolving door policy - but you're right - he hasn't made the most of the resources available to him - no matter what spin you put on it.
pap Posted 15 May, 2012 Posted 15 May, 2012 Another article. Still nothing from LFC. http://whatculture.com/sport/kenny-dalglish-resigns-as-liverpool-manager.php
Lord Duckhunter Posted 15 May, 2012 Posted 15 May, 2012 He's done worse in the league than Roy did for them, That's just not true though. RH- Win % 41.94, no honours KD Win % 47.95, 1 Carling cup. KD may be an average manager this time around, but in what way did RH do better?
S-Clarke Posted 15 May, 2012 Posted 15 May, 2012 That's just not true though. RH- Win % 41.94, no honours KD Win % 47.95, 1 Carling cup. KD may be an average manager this time around, but in what way did RH do better? Ok, well there's very little differnce between them. They did finish higher under Roy though, I'm sure of that. And isn't their current points total their lowest for 2 decades? May be wrong on that. Their home for is their worst for a long time though... The biggest criticism that can be labelled at him...was that he was given around £70m+. He bought Andy Caroll, Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam and Stewart Downing with that. That's a sackable offense on it's own!! He's had a serious amount of money to spend, and OK - he's reinvested the Torres cash, but surely you'd expect your manager to invest it better than he has? He's blown it away.
