Looking beyond the obvious vote for the excellent Billy Sharp and his match wining performance, I thought that Jose Fonte had one of his best games for quite some time. In what was (at times anyway) a pretty dull game in all honesty our defence led by Jose made pretty damn sure that Kelvin was very rarely troubled indeed.

 

I thought that SDR merited a well earned 'mention in dispatches' too.

I didn't think Lallana was at his best today. Involved, but a lot of the stuff he tried didn't quite come off for me.

 

Honourable mention to Schneiderlin, who always seems to justify being in the "top 3" performances these days, even if he's a rare choice for MOTM.

Not usually a fan of Morgan but I thought he was very good today. Along with Cork they dominated the midfield and allowed the forwards and fullbacks to play.

 

Donny had some very good individuals but by 'eck Saint's don't 'arf play superb as a team.

I thought Fonte was excellent today, a bit inconsistent the first half of the season but he has been to his swaggering best in the last few games - bang in form at just the right time.

I thought Butterfield was very compotent at the back. A few wayward crosses but really showed his experience at times, used the ball well and made some cracking tacles/interceptions. Nice to see Sharp get his first proeper goals. Great to see Barny back too

its easy to give it to attacking players and lallana and sharp were very good, but i thought fox was excellent

Sharp and Butterfield both took there 1st team chances today one scoring 2 and other marking 2 decent players, other then that everyone else was poor most of the game except Lallana.
