Saints 2 V 0 Doncaster Post Match Chat!!

The fact we are now 16 full points ahead of brighton in 4th does show what a great run Reading are on to have left the pack and joined the top 3. However I believe we will hold them off as we did to Hudders last year!

A big hope is that W. Sham's indifferent form continues. If they lose or draw to Posh it will be interesting.

Lest we forget what a great run we are having we are now a full 18 points clear of the Blackpool in the last play off place!

Who would have believed that before the opening game against Leeds!

Not many. I think our first aim was to consolidate and 17th would have been a good finish for our first season in this league.

Very tricky game. Doncaster played well and have a lot of experience in their team, you can see how they got results against Reading and WHU, But we stuck to our game and broke them down......I thought Lambo was struggling, wasn't surprised to see him go off - but it's nice to see we still have a potent threat even without Lambert, as Sharp was terrific. Moving and running all game, looks much fitter than he did a few weeks ago - our back room team do a fantastic job on players!

the WHU result is brilliant for us. It's looking more and more like a battle between them and reading for 2nd, and us just going on to coast to the title.

Next weekend is a biggy...a draw between WHU and Reading is key for me, but a Reading win wouldn't be ''bad'' as the gap between us and WHU starts to become almost uncatchable.

Knew it would be a tight game, really great result with Hammers dropping points again.

Their game against Posh on Tuesday will be important in deciding the favourable outcome for the meeting with Reading next Saturday!

Agreed. If Waste Sham draw or lose, you'd have to go for a Reading Win against Sham surely ?

No surely we want a West Ham win!!! That should put proper distance between us and Reading.

But, the most important thing is putting distance between ourselves and third place. If WHU lose or draw to Posh, then a Reading win against WHU would be the best result

The most important thing is we win. Next most important thing is we win the league.

We don't want Reading breathing down our necks in a fight for first. We want to be several points clear of a fight for second!!!

I love Saints fans, always planning not to win.

Do you want promotion? Or to win the bloody league!!!!

First and foremost I want promotion....I want to win the league too, but the first priority for me is making sure there's a big enough gap between us and third....then we can win the league!

What a statement from Nigel, take off Rickie, the talisman and let the squad shine. Real bottle to do that.

Delighted for Billy, surprised at the vigour of his celebrations. If I was a Donny fan I would feel a little aggrieved.

Great win. 5 from 7 needed now.

i pray that reading smash them and they end up finishing in the playoffs. fed up with the arrogance of some of thier fans. they talk like they are footballing super giants who play invented the great passing game. of course shouldn't ever be in this league and everyone that ever gets a result agaisnt them are either lucky or cheats or they played badly.

Your amazing lack of Grammar even extends to your choice of user name! I hate to be the grammar police here, but your post was almost unreadable. However, for what it's worth, I agree with what I think you said. ;)

I couldn't really follow the game today, but it's been a great day in the SaintNoStoppingUsNow household thanks to the results. Saints win, Norwich win, I've already had beers, I'm getting a free meal out tonight, West Ham only drew, I now have ten days off work, and my wedding has been mostly paid for by my mother. All that, and the sun was shining brightly thoughout. I don't even care that I had to be up at half three for work this morning.

Saints are going up. "Then I saw the scores, now I'm a believer! Not a trace, of doubt in my mind. We are good Oooooooooooh I'm a believer I couldn't fear them if I tried..."

I don't really know what happened during the game, only that Sharp scored twice. I'll judge the rest on comments on here.

Out of ten, how good does it feel to be a Saints fan right now?

During the second half, I'm sure everyone noticed Pascal Chimbonda and Billy Sharp coming together after the former said something to Billy.

One wonders what it was, as it appeared to affect him for several minutes afterwards, seemed to be visibly angry...

As for the gloves on Mr C.......

Adkins won us the game today, and Lambert going off slightly contributed to it. He wasn't having one of his best days, and when he went off Adkins moved Lallana to the top of the diamond where he dictated everything. Sharp will rightly get MOTM but Lallana was sublime for those 20 minutes.

Important result, pressure severely on other two, wet sham, look like choking...

Great atmosphere today, stadium looked beautiful packed!

Special mention for Fox who I thought was absolutely flawless an perhaps his best defensive game. Morgan was solid and class in the middle.

Deridder struggled slightly with butterfield behind him, I'm struggling to remember more than one pass from him to steve.

Billy looked to grow in confidence as game went on and by end of it he was making some good runs.

All in all, great result. Hopefully Rickie, nothing serious...
