dubai_phil Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Great stuff. Just too Sharp for them weren't we? (Did you see what I did there!) No.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 The fact we are now 16 full points ahead of brighton in 4th does show what a great run Reading are on to have left the pack and joined the top 3. However I believe we will hold them off as we did to Hudders last year!
Window Cleaner Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Lightly sauted Waitrose Essential Smoked Bacon. Yeah Typical, we've got all the islamic whack jobs in France, the spiritual home of pork products and they're selling bacon in Dubai.
CWD Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Well done Saints, sounded thoroughly professional! Get in, so pleased for Billy!
Dalek2003 Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 The fact we are now 16 full points ahead of brighton in 4th does show what a great run Reading are on to have left the pack and joined the top 3. However I believe we will hold them off as we did to Hudders last year! A big hope is that W. Sham's indifferent form continues. If they lose or draw to Posh it will be interesting.
Ohio Saint Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Looking forward to WHam using up their game in hand midweek, whatever the result is. I just like to know where we stand when all things are equal.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Lest we forget what a great run we are having we are now a full 18 points clear of the Blackpool in the last play off place! Who would have believed that before the opening game against Leeds!
Saint J 77 Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Billy Sharp has scored all 3 goals in both fixtures of Southampton vs Doncaster this season, shame all the goals weren't all for Saints but still, I am not complaining after today's result
charliemiller Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 What's the pink stuff on top? under cooked chicken me thinks .....Dubai Phil in food poisoning shocker lol !!!!
Dalek2003 Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Lest we forget what a great run we are having we are now a full 18 points clear of the Blackpool in the last play off place! Who would have believed that before the opening game against Leeds! Not many. I think our first aim was to consolidate and 17th would have been a good finish for our first season in this league.
Window Cleaner Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 under cooked chicken me thinks .....Dubai Phil in food poisoning shocker lol !!!! bacon apparently
Saint Without a Halo Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Typical, we've got all the islamic whack jobs in France, the spiritual home of pork products and they're selling bacon in Dubai. Thats not all they sell in Dubai either!
trousers Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Slightly annoyed on reflection. I predicted a Sharp hattrick today :-(
dingbattigger Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 jos hooiveld @joshooiveld20 A win and a clean sheet. Two positive things for me today, ONLY two positives for me as well hahha. Not my best game, but good week!
Ade Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 How did Billy celebrate his goals today, seeing as they were scored against his old club? Was he mutd or did he go mad?
Window Cleaner Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 How did Billy celebrate his goals today, seeing as they were scored against his old club? Was he mutd or did he go mad? well he got a yellow for one of his celebrations so it couldn't have been too muted.
Saint_Jonny Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 How did Billy celebrate his goals today, seeing as they were scored against his old club? Was he mutd or did he go mad? Solent said he got booked for the second one so I guess he must have got his willy out.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 How did Billy celebrate his goals today, seeing as they were scored against his old club? Was he mutd or did he go mad? Got booked for celebrating the 2nd
Nexstar Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Knew it would be a tight game, really great result with Hammers dropping points again. Their game against Posh on Tuesday will be important in deciding the favourable outcome for the meeting with Reading next Saturday!
Ade Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 "Solent said he got booked for the second one so I guess he must have got his willy out. " "Got booked for celebrating the 2nd " "Went mad " Good lad!
saints-cris Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Another good day for us. Long as we keep doing our thing, were uncatchable. Really pleased for Billy too, stepped up when he had to. We have 3 very good strikers at our disposal.
SOTONS EAST SIDE Posted 24 March, 2012 Author Posted 24 March, 2012 Another good day for us. Long as we keep doing our thing, were uncatchable. Really pleased for Billy too, stepped up when he had to. We have 3 very good strikers at our disposal.Exactly Cris. Lets win our games, and let the others fight it out/worry!!
S-Clarke Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Very tricky game. Doncaster played well and have a lot of experience in their team, you can see how they got results against Reading and WHU, But we stuck to our game and broke them down......I thought Lambo was struggling, wasn't surprised to see him go off - but it's nice to see we still have a potent threat even without Lambert, as Sharp was terrific. Moving and running all game, looks much fitter than he did a few weeks ago - our back room team do a fantastic job on players! the WHU result is brilliant for us. It's looking more and more like a battle between them and reading for 2nd, and us just going on to coast to the title. Next weekend is a biggy...a draw between WHU and Reading is key for me, but a Reading win wouldn't be ''bad'' as the gap between us and WHU starts to become almost uncatchable.
Dalek2003 Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Knew it would be a tight game, really great result with Hammers dropping points again. Their game against Posh on Tuesday will be important in deciding the favourable outcome for the meeting with Reading next Saturday! Agreed. If Waste Sham draw or lose, you'd have to go for a Reading Win against Sham surely ?
Legod Third Coming Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 We want a draw. Superb win today, pleased for Billy. But we need to keep doing our thing, and its a massive round of games next week. No surely we want a West Ham win!!! That should put proper distance between us and Reading.
Micky Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 I can now go and enjoy my night in Amsterdam. Fingers crossed for SRL, welcome Billy Sharp. Just flown out of there a couple of hours ago - the weather was great. Have a good one....
Dalek2003 Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 No surely we want a West Ham win!!! That should put proper distance between us and Reading. But, the most important thing is putting distance between ourselves and third place. If WHU lose or draw to Posh, then a Reading win against WHU would be the best result
Legod Third Coming Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 But, the most important thing is putting distance between ourselves and third place. If WHU lose or draw to Posh, then a Reading win against WHU would be the best result The most important thing is we win. Next most important thing is we win the league. We don't want Reading breathing down our necks in a fight for first. We want to be several points clear of a fight for second!!!
S-Clarke Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 No surely we want a West Ham win!!! That should put proper distance between us and Reading. Why do we want that? We want as much distance between us and third as possible, therefore a draw or a Reading win.
Ohio Saint Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Billy is on the bus! "We won the league last year...Um, "They"(Saints) did" Says it all IMO!
Glasgow_Saint Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 WHU lose Tuesday and next sat against Reading, we win and boooom 12 points clear with 6 to play
Legod Third Coming Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 I am of course assuming that West Ham lose to POSH!
Legod Third Coming Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Why do we want that? We want as much distance between us and third as possible, therefore a draw or a Reading win. I love Saints fans, always planning not to win. Do you want promotion? Or to win the bloody league!!!!
S-Clarke Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 I love Saints fans, always planning not to win. Do you want promotion? Or to win the bloody league!!!! First and foremost I want promotion....I want to win the league too, but the first priority for me is making sure there's a big enough gap between us and third....then we can win the league!
Whitey Grandad Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 I love Saints fans, always planning not to win. Do you want promotion? Or to win the bloody league!!!! Yes and yes, in that order.
Colinjb Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 What a statement from Nigel, take off Rickie, the talisman and let the squad shine. Real bottle to do that. Delighted for Billy, surprised at the vigour of his celebrations. If I was a Donny fan I would feel a little aggrieved. Great win. 5 from 7 needed now.
K,Billy's supersound Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 i pray that reading smash them and they end up finishing in the playoffs. fed up with the arrogance of some of thier fans. they talk like they are footballing super giants who play invented the great passing game. of course shouldn't ever be in this league and everyone that ever gets a result agaisnt them are either lucky or cheats or they played badly.
rpb Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Lightly sauted Waitrose Essential Smoked Bacon. Yeah Bacon in Dubai?

Your amazing lack of Grammar even extends to your choice of user name! I hate to be the grammar police here, but your post was almost unreadable. However, for what it's worth, I agree with what I think you said.
trousers Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 @solentsport: Audioboo: Saints manager Nigel Adkins speaks to @BBCRadioSolent after his side's 2-0 victory against Doncaster http://t.co/NeqRFant
SNSUN Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 I couldn't really follow the game today, but it's been a great day in the SaintNoStoppingUsNow household thanks to the results. Saints win, Norwich win, I've already had beers, I'm getting a free meal out tonight, West Ham only drew, I now have ten days off work, and my wedding has been mostly paid for by my mother. All that, and the sun was shining brightly thoughout. I don't even care that I had to be up at half three for work this morning. Saints are going up. "Then I saw the scores, now I'm a believer! Not a trace, of doubt in my mind. We are good Oooooooooooh I'm a believer I couldn't fear them if I tried..." I don't really know what happened during the game, only that Sharp scored twice. I'll judge the rest on comments on here. Out of ten, how good does it feel to be a Saints fan right now?
markr27 Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 During the second half, I'm sure everyone noticed Pascal Chimbonda and Billy Sharp coming together after the former said something to Billy. One wonders what it was, as it appeared to affect him for several minutes afterwards, seemed to be visibly angry... As for the gloves on Mr C.......
Ohio Saint Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Out of ten, how good does it feel to be a Saints fan right now? My knob goes all the way up to eleven (inches) Yes, it's a movie reference.
trousers Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Pork I nominate you for my 'post of the day' :-)
LGTL Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Adkins won us the game today, and Lambert going off slightly contributed to it. He wasn't having one of his best days, and when he went off Adkins moved Lallana to the top of the diamond where he dictated everything. Sharp will rightly get MOTM but Lallana was sublime for those 20 minutes.
Avenue Saint Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Important result, pressure severely on other two, wet sham, look like choking... Great atmosphere today, stadium looked beautiful packed! Special mention for Fox who I thought was absolutely flawless an perhaps his best defensive game. Morgan was solid and class in the middle. Deridder struggled slightly with butterfield behind him, I'm struggling to remember more than one pass from him to steve. Billy looked to grow in confidence as game went on and by end of it he was making some good runs. All in all, great result. Hopefully Rickie, nothing serious...
Lifelongsaint83 Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Max Thomas @RealMaxThomas Not another draw #WHU they don't seem to want automatic promotion. Stuck in the play-off's when they should be at the top. #disasterous. This sums up West Sham supporters for me, claiming they should be at the top..Their "devine right"
