pressingon Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 A dilema or a no brainer-your choice 1. A rejuvinated Pompey come here, beat us and stay up but we go on to be promoted. or 2. We thrash them, condem them to relegation but the wheel comes off the bus and we miss out on promotion through play offs. Promotion above local rivaly for me.
Thedelldays Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 or the moon hits the earth and kills everyone...?
dune Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Here we again again, another pointless hypothetical argument. Would you sooner be drowned or burnt to death?
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 or the moon hits the earth and kills everyone...? Someone always survives. I've seen it in films. By my calculations it'll be Harry Redknapp.
Thedelldays Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 well, we could well be in a position where a win against them will pretty much secure promotion.....all but a few points
Under Weststand Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Hypothetically we could smash them & still go up as champions. Personally I vote for that scenario! Even though I quite like the moon hitting the earth idea its more interesting than Poorsmouth winning!

brmbrm Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Anyone for option 3? 3. We thrash pompey, go on to be Champions, they get relegated. Hmmm. I like option 3 best. Antone else?
saintmatt Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Here we again again, another pointless hypothetical argument. Would you sooner be drowned or burnt to death? Definitely burnt to death - assuming it's in a fire, hopefully the fumes would knock me out before I felt too much pain.
Fan The Flames Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Here we again again, another pointless hypothetical argument. Would you sooner be drowned or burnt to death? Drowning, you get to see your life again in slow motion.
whelk Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Drowning is just like having an anaestetic. Recommend it and done it a few times. Burning hurts
Psycrow Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Do I like the team I support more than I hate their rivals? If the answer to that is No for anybody, they're idiots.

I am greedy. I want to see promotion with us thrashing them, and their relegation and subsequent extinction.
Monk Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 All they keep saying is 'we want you to go up so we can see you goet stuffed week in, week out on telly'
Bad Wolf Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 What about.... Would you take a draw today at home to Donny, IF Reading and WHU both lost?
buctootim Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Would you take a Saints win today or an hour upstairs with the fit neighbour? Bye Saints. Hope you go up anyway.
September Saint Posted 25 March, 2012 Posted 25 March, 2012 or the moon hits the earth and kills everyone...? ....and all life is wiped out apart from cockroaches and Keith Richards
svetigpung Posted 25 March, 2012 Posted 25 March, 2012 Would you take a Saints win today or an hour upstairs with the fit neighbour? Bye Saints. Hope you go up anyway. Definately the 3 points. My neighbour might be fit but i dont want him to "do" me.

We thrash them, condem them to relegation but the wheel comes off the bus and we miss out on promotion through play offs. Promotion above local rivaly for me. I like my "Hobson's Choices" to have an element of reality to them. Neither of these is very likely.
The9 Posted 25 March, 2012 Posted 25 March, 2012 (edited) well, we could well be in a position where a win against them will pretty much secure promotion.....all but a few points We cannot confirm promotion against the Skates. If we beat Blackpool, and West Ham and Reading lose all their games before the Skate game (except for Reading beating West Ham), we are still only 12 ahead of third with 5 to play. West Ham would be on 72 in third with us on 84, everyone having played 41. If Reading beat West Ham Reading would be on 73 in third. If their match is a draw it's West Ham third on 73. We don't have enough matches before the Skates to get enough points to be far enough clear. Edited 25 March, 2012 by The9
stknowle Posted 25 March, 2012 Posted 25 March, 2012 Here we again again, another pointless hypothetical argument. Would you sooner be drowned or burnt to death? Drowned
Saint137 Posted 26 March, 2012 Posted 26 March, 2012 More likely scenario is Coventry having to beat us on the last day in order to send them down, whereas we need to beat them to secure the title...
kpturner Posted 26 March, 2012 Posted 26 March, 2012 Here we again again, another pointless hypothetical argument. Would you sooner be drowned or burnt to death? You forgot to mention the poor spelling
