Saint Garrett Posted 23 March, 2012 Posted 23 March, 2012 A good article from the Daily Mail on Rickie with mentions from Pardew. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2119488/Alan-Pardew-backing-Rickie-Lambert-succeed-Premier-League.html?
Leslie Charteris Posted 23 March, 2012 Posted 23 March, 2012 Perhaps he'll score a hat-trick against Liverpool in the not too distant future just to show them what they've missed. That would be sweet...
Verbal Posted 23 March, 2012 Posted 23 March, 2012 Looks like no one from the club contributed to that, which may be their attempt to keep a lid on things and concentrate... (Good to see SRV pop up by the way.)
Leslie Charteris Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 (Good to see SRV pop up by the way.) I am So Excited that when Dirty Pool visit they'll leave with Empty Arms and they will think the Sky is Crying and be in a Rude Mood because The House is Rockin'...
Verbal Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 I am So Excited that when Dirty Pool visit they'll leave with Empty Arms and they will think the Sky is Crying and be in a Rude Mood because The House is Rockin'... Clearly your pride and joy.
dubai_phil Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Looks like no one from the club contributed to that, which may be their attempt to keep a lid on things and concentrate... (Good to see SRV pop up by the way.) May explain that "Unhelpful" tweet earlier in the week, But good to see a positive story about one of our players for a change. hell good to see ANY story about one of our players in a National Paper - it's been a long time!
Legod Third Coming Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 "I used to pass to him but he would never pass back..." Well at least that has changed. He must be one of our best assisters as well as top striker. I can't believe how unselfish the guy is!
Thedelldays Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 well, kiss good bye if liverpool come sniffing round..
Colbury Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 well, kiss good bye if liverpool come sniffing round.. Would never happen - even if he is a much better player than Carroll
Thedelldays Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Would never happen - even if he is a much better player than Carroll probably right....they will want another suarez type of signing
Legod Third Coming Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 well, kiss good bye if liverpool come sniffing round.. To be honest, would you begrudge the man that?
Thedelldays Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 To be honest, would you begrudge the man that? I won't like it, but the guy is a legend......same as adkins.. they day he leaves (and he will one day), no matter what, he will have written himself into saints history...along with rickie

SaintBobby Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 I'm more worried by Pardew making a big bid than Liverpool. Still, live for today and all that...
austsaint Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 I won't like it, but the guy is a legend......same as adkins.. they day he leaves (and he will one day), no matter what, he will have written himself into saints history...along with rickie You are right DD - who would have thought that RL could be considered a better player than Carroll; but he probably is!
SaintBobby Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 You are right DD - who would have thought that RL could be considered a better player than Carroll; but he probably is! I agree. Rupert Lowe probably is better than Carroll.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 desperate signing imho, too old and will not cut it above league 1 I promise you that!!! Average L1 player no better than we have, waste of £800k Just found this from August 10th 2009. Amazing how some peeps on here right off a player before they are given a chance
beatlesaint Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Oh come on, Carroll isnt much good but there isn't any need to be that nasty
brmbrm Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 To put thing sinto context: "Lambert, their late blooming striker, has scored 24 of their 70 league goals." (my point is that 46 are NOT his - a lot of goals) We are hardly a one-trick act. Ricky has been getting better service and support, and thriving on it. Yes, I think he is prem quality and i really hope we get to prove it next year.
whelk Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 anyone know what The Football Ramble 'Rickie Lambert celebrate' refers to? they are selling t shirts now as well http://www.thefootballramble.com/shop/mod-link http://www.thefootballramble.com/forum/viewthread/5840/
david in sweden Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 To put thing sinto context: "Lambert, their late blooming striker, has scored 24 of their 70 league goals." Yes, I think he is prem quality and i really hope we get to prove it next year. Of course, it isn't the end of the stats. war. Looking back at his record of consistancy since he joined us ; I think his record is as good as anyone. We have a goalscorer who has given us " success ", rather than just " survival ". I'm glad that there have been " another 46 goals " because we have been far too dependent on big goalscorers to keep us alive in past decades. Ron Davies in the 1960's. Channon in the 70's and, of course MLT without whom we would have been in Div.2 (or whatever you want to call this division) around 20 years ago (certainly after Alan Ball's departure, I guess).
Saint_clark Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 I'm more worried by Pardew making a big bid than Liverpool. Still, live for today and all that... Not sure, Lambert did say he only wants to play for Saints. If we don't go up then he may leave but if we're in the Premiership I can't see him going anywhere.
West End Saint Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Lambo is quality & can go on to reach legend status at Saints imo well done to Pards for signing him he made some good signings but Lambo was the best by far keep it up Ricky lad
Legod Third Coming Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 I find it totally bizarre that we buy a bloke to score goals. He scores goals. And some fans and many opposition fans say "if it wasn't for that bloke you employed to score goals, you wouldn't have scored any." Fecking idiots.
voteforpedro Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 Worrying how many people here seem to read the Daily Mail.
Saint Garrett Posted 24 March, 2012 Author Posted 24 March, 2012 Worrying how many people here seem to read the Daily Mail.Only found it because I go on this link...http://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/Sport/Football/Championship/Southampton
paulwantsapint Posted 24 March, 2012 Posted 24 March, 2012 It is critical that we go up this season to keep hold of our top players rickie & Adam If we do go up there is no better team for them to play in because they have a great partnership
