saintjay77 Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 Anyone got any ideals what the likely attendance is going to be? 14800? based on a good result last time out the gate could rise a little. Ill guess at 15600.
Mole Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 16,800. It would have been more like 18,000 if it wasn't on SKY though.
SaintRobbie Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 -1 Sorry I can't do this Lowe nonesense anymore.
slickmick Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 Off subject, all the negativity on here and yet out of 73 people, so far 39 have put Saints down for a win. Only 16 have backed us to lose.
saintdownunder Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 I`ll be there that`s all we need + i`m bringing a mate Here we go, Here we go, Here we go
slickmick Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 I`ll be there that`s all we need + i`m bringing a mate Here we go, Here we go, Here we go When did you last go ? In the early eighties ?
Mole Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 Last season i took my aussie cousin to a couple of games as he was over visiting. Australians are several years behind (or you could argue ahead of) Britain with their mannerisms. I don't mean this in an offensive way as my cousin is a right ****head and we had a right laugh, but little things like clapping the away sides goals is not seen much nowadays.
londonsaint1604 Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 -1 Sorry I can't do this Lowe nonesense anymore. I'm sure you will make all the difference mate.
paris Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 Just been on to the ticket office 25,000 sold so far ....
trousers Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 Just been on to the ticket office 25,000 sold so far .... Get away
Weston Super Saint Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 Just been on to the ticket office 25,000 sold so far .... LOL. Which ticket office did you ring?
Dannyboy_Saint Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 Just been on to the ticket office 25,000 sold so far .... Like fudge there is. Theres barely 25,000 seats available with the 3 corners roped off and the OS would definately have said summit about it if we had had that many tickets sold. Im guessing for a conservative 16k with 1500 away fans.
Scudamore Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 -1 Sorry I can't do this Lowe nonesense anymore. I remember my dad sitting me down when i was young and telling me how he was sorry but i had to support the chairman of Southampton Football Club...i protested as you do...i mean i was only interested in the football itself...but after a lot of arguing and a few tears i realised he was of course right...
Oz Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 Anyone got any ideas what the likely attendance is going to be? 14800? under 14,000
Delmary Posted 7 November, 2008 Author Posted 7 November, 2008 Just been on to the ticket office 25,000 sold so far ....lol. There is one born every minute;)
Nexstar Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 under 14,000 Highly unlikely after a very big confidence building away win. 16,000
VectisSaint Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 but little things like clapping the away sides goals is not seen much nowadays. Doesn't leave a lot of scope for clapping at home these days
70's Mike Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 as i was not invited to the big meeting , i am considering withdrawing my support

Is there an etiquette guide available? Going to my first game in too many years in a couple of weeks with the kids. How many minutes in each quarter? Do they play the national anthem at the start and where is the flag so I can face that direction? How many time outs are they allowed?
saint_stevo Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 its on Sky, we will probably lose so im going to say 14500 mentalists
1976_Child Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 I reckon we should get 19,527 A bit of an "Obama bounce" me thinks. Well, that and the fact that they played a blinder up at Preston.
Saintleigh Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 Might make tomorrow my 1st game of the season as I'll be in the area for the first time on a match day for ages. Depends on whether I want to spend £25 on a ticket or 9 pints in the pub and watch it on Sky
1976_Child Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 Just been on to the ticket office 25,000 sold so far .... yeah, this season!

Saintleigh Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 get yourself to the ground man! you know you want to ... I think you're right - attendance + 1 for tomorrow
sperm_john Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 all so optimistic!! (sarcasm) im guessing 19k
up and away Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 Originally Posted by Oz under 14,000 Highly unlikely after a very big confidence building away win. 16,000 Look back at the gates when we have had this odd time on a Saturday, live on Sky and its usually significantly down, maybe 20% on the average gate. I hope your guess is the correct figure though.
egreog Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 13800 or so....... money tight....... xmas factor.......on TV anyway and weather looks likely to be adverse.........not good!
The Dogman Of Bassett Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 Bearing in mind there were between 11-12k for Coventry I would guess, with it being a Sky game, 10-11k tomorrow, max.
Arizona Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 First game of the season for me, driving down from Lincolnshire. If any Saints players are reading this, please don't be sh*t tomorrow.
Iowsaintsfan Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 Thinking of going and if i do i will be dragging at least 1 mate with me!
Sad Sam Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 There were 11,000 @ Coventry? It looked empty every shot of the stands looked like more blue seats than Bums on seats, or is that a really big ground? I'm assuming you mean the Coventry game on Sky.
alpine_saint Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 I'm going to go for 17,000 +, seeing as we are playing a fellow Southern team on a Saturday afternoon and not Northern Monkeys mid-week, and because there is a good chance we have really turned a corner. I have a feeling this time....Though no doubt the club will have piissed all over it by 8pm Saturday night
SFC Forever Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 I'm hoping 16000 plus after last miracle at Preston.
70's Mike Posted 7 November, 2008 Posted 7 November, 2008 I have been told the OB have been warning Pubs etc that they expect trouble in town tomorrow with City fans arriving lunchtime for a drinking session before the game
saintdownunder Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 When did you last go ? In the early eighties ? The last saints game i saw was Preston away last week
Mr X Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 I think it will be ridiculously low like 12,000 max A) it's on sky b) most people won't risk spending £25 when they can watch us lose in the comfort of their settee c) usually any good result we get is followed by a **** poor one d) weather forecast bad
Mole Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 I really hope i've plumped too high with my attendance prediction. If we can get 12-13,000 it would be another nail in Lowe and Wildes coffins so fingers crossed for a 'Lowe' turnout. Lowe Out.
Iowsaintsfan Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 I have been told the OB have been warning Pubs etc that they expect trouble in town tomorrow with City fans arriving lunchtime for a drinking session before the game Wasnt there trouble last year after the Bristol city game both at home and away?

In case you hadn't notice, it ****s the club we support over when fans don't turn up. Its not like the money goes straight into Lowe's pocket.
the wedge Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 Just had a text from a pal at the game saying that the place is deserted!
Window Cleaner Posted 8 November, 2008 Posted 8 November, 2008 Just had a text from a pal at the game saying that the place is deserted! They're all still in the pub, have faith. In the good old days there were 8000 in the dell at 2.40 and 31000 at 3 o'clock.
