terrasaint Posted 21 March, 2012 Posted 21 March, 2012 Will everyone on the database get the opportunity to buy a season ticket (if they want one)? 14000 ticket holders will presumably renew. 3000 tickets allocated to the away fans. Which leaves approximately 16000-17000 remaining. Presumably a few thousand will be held back for individual match day sales.

Marsdinho Posted 21 March, 2012 Posted 21 March, 2012 I would guess that we have at least 40-50k on the database, so doubt everyone would be able to get a ST.
Saint Garrett Posted 21 March, 2012 Posted 21 March, 2012 We will probably sell about 18-20k ST's if we go up.
Colinjb Posted 21 March, 2012 Posted 21 March, 2012 I'm probably in the minority with this one, but I may not renew if we go up. We would be televised in about as many games as this season and I have missed a fair few mid-week home games due to work commitments. The price of fuel is not helping and I would be able to follow Saints via the Sky services i'm already shelling out for. That's my logical head on anyway, emotionally speaking if we go up i'll naturally want to renew.
stevegrant Posted 21 March, 2012 Posted 21 March, 2012 Depends on the pricing structure. I would argue that for many, we've not been away from the top flight long enough for games against Man United, Arsenal, etc to be deemed a novelty. We saw this season that the number of ST holders actually dropped despite promotion, so they will need to strike the right balance between maximising revenue and making the price attractive enough for new/returning ST holders to want to buy.

once_bitterne Posted 21 March, 2012 Posted 21 March, 2012 We will have been on tv more this season that a lot of PL teams.
bowers-sfc Posted 21 March, 2012 Posted 21 March, 2012 I would guess that we have at least 40-50k on the database, so doubt everyone would be able to get a ST. We actually have over 200k on our data base ( apparently )
trousers Posted 21 March, 2012 Posted 21 March, 2012 We actually have over 200k on our data base ( apparently ) Some of us more than once... ;-)
Golden Balls Posted 21 March, 2012 Posted 21 March, 2012 If if if IF!!! I will find it very hard to renew if the price goes up too much. There will be less games in the prem so they need to be careful how much they raise the prices by....espeially for renewals.
Nexstar Posted 21 March, 2012 Posted 21 March, 2012 Won't be renewing whichever division, just can't justify the cost when i'm at uni.
fish fingers Posted 21 March, 2012 Posted 21 March, 2012 Season tickets should be free to those who had them this season and the two seasons in league 1.
Nexstar Posted 21 March, 2012 Posted 21 March, 2012 Season tickets should be free to those who had them this season and the two seasons in league 1. Ok, if you twist my arm I'll take one
doddisalegend Posted 21 March, 2012 Posted 21 March, 2012 I'm not sure the number of season ticket holders will go up that much. ST will cost more, number of games will be less, kick off times will be all over the shop (meaning people might not be able to attend as often) and people could just watch saints on sky more often.
Marsdinho Posted 21 March, 2012 Posted 21 March, 2012 We actually have over 200k on our data base ( apparently ) Doesn't surprise me, I suppose that 2 cup finals in recent years has meant even the most casual of fans has had to register.
djharvey Posted 21 March, 2012 Posted 21 March, 2012 If promoted i reckon we will sell somewhere around 21 to 23k season tickets.
The9 Posted 21 March, 2012 Posted 21 March, 2012 We actually have over 200k on our data base ( apparently ) Seeing as I know for damn sure that includes my 2 year old niece as a recipient of a free U-8 ST the season before last I wouldn't be too impressed with that figure without a bit more analysis ! I'd also be surprised if Saints didn't take the opportunity of (maybe) getting into the Prem and getting a new ticket booking system installed to do a bit of data cleansing of all the information they already have. Especially as there seems to be a move away from just keeping sales "in-house" judging by the use of SportsDirect.com to flog some of the 2010/11 kit stock.
Pancake Posted 21 March, 2012 Posted 21 March, 2012 the use of SportsDirect.com to flog some of the 2010/11 kit stock. Local branch I assume...?
The9 Posted 21 March, 2012 Posted 21 March, 2012 Season tickets should be free to those who had them this season and the two seasons in league 1. Given the new financial regulations, I suspect we'll be exploiting every revenue stream to the max. Much as I'd like a free ST.
The Cat Posted 21 March, 2012 Posted 21 March, 2012 We will sell more, one reason being the return of the corporates. Bear in mind this doesn't just mean people in the corporate section but also companies that buy 5 or 6 seats in the normal stands. I know a lot of firms did this when we were in the Premiership but got rid of most of them once we were relegated. Reckon we'll do in the region of 18k. The rumoured return of the installment plans will help too.
Dimond Geezer Posted 21 March, 2012 Posted 21 March, 2012 What league we are in will be of no relevance to me, my season ticket renewal will solely depend on the price. It was £550 for me & my eldest last time out, next season my youngest will no longer be entitled to a free ticket, so I guess I'm looking at £700 at least .
The9 Posted 21 March, 2012 Posted 21 March, 2012 Local branch I assume...? Saints stuff was originally on their website about a month ago (last season's away shorts and socks and training tops - been out of stock online for a couple of weeks already), though rummaging around in the West Quay branch last weekend I did find one pair of 125 Anniversary away black shorts and there were a couple of tracksuits in there too. Clearance stock, but there nonetheless. No reason to think they didn't send some stock to other stores, they're not particularly discriminatory about that kind of thing, shedloads of Lens goalkeeper shorts for instance... First time since before the "Saints Apparel" years I can remember seeing any Saints kit in a non-Saints shop (there was the one on the IoW but that was kind of "official"). I think the last one I saw on general sale was the Pony tick kit in Toomers (?) in London Road circa 1994, though I wasn't around much during the mid-late 90s to check.
stevegrant Posted 21 March, 2012 Posted 21 March, 2012 Given the new financial regulations, I suspect we'll be exploiting every revenue stream to the max. Much as I'd like a free ST. Worth noting that the UEFA FFP regulations only apply to clubs seeking to play in European competition. We wouldn't be in a position to do so for at least a year, and many would (rightly) argue that it may be entirely unrealistic to expect us to be anywhere near qualifying for Europe just two years after playing in the third tier

I've waited long enough.

SuperMikey Posted 21 March, 2012 Posted 21 March, 2012 I'm buying a season ticket regardless of what league we're in. Just been wondering about the cost should we go up. Didn't QPR put their season ticket prices up by 50% or something ridiculous? I think we can expect around a 15-20% increase in price should we be promoted, NC won't want to price our fans out of attending matches.
The9 Posted 21 March, 2012 Posted 21 March, 2012 I think that is a little unrealistic Fishfingers, but certainly those of us that have renewed year in and year out during the dark times, should be rewarded within the pricing structure Honestly, do you really think that ? I don't understand some people's sense of entitlement. Why would you expect that ? You already got what you paid for.

Yeah, but QPR were already at or near capacity for a smaller ground even in the Championship and are in an area where the number of people prepared to fork out at those prices is higher. Don't forget that we'd already be getting 4 fewer matches than in the Championship. £500 for 23 matches or £600 for 19 Prem ones ?

Enough so mine stays the same price
DJ_TOAST Posted 21 March, 2012 Posted 21 March, 2012 Saints really need to maximise the promotion asap when we get promoted while the city is in Euphoria as be great to have sell out crowds most week (with lots of ST holders). Unlike last year where they left things late and didn't do as well as they possibly could have.
doddisalegend Posted 21 March, 2012 Posted 21 March, 2012 We're not going to have sell outs every week we can't get sell outs now while winning most of the time with chances of being champions. If people won't turn up now why are they going to turn up to watch us (most likely) lose more often and fight it out for a mid table postion..
Turkish Posted 21 March, 2012 Posted 21 March, 2012 As we've been told on here in the past we can easily fill a 45k seater stadium when we are the premier league I fully expect us to sell all 29,000 available home seats to season ticket holders, with a long waiting list as well regardless of any price increase.

We left it far too late last time and as it died down, so did people enthusiasm. Also, if we're doing installment plans this time, it would be a good idea to get them started asap. A lot of people wont want an extra bill in December when xmas shopping. Don't give people time to think about it and get the cash in the bank early. Edited 21 March, 2012 by Golden Balls
ericb Posted 21 March, 2012 Posted 21 March, 2012 Definitely agree that those of us that kept season tickets through the championship & league one should get a bigger discount, would be great to see them charge the JCL's more even for an individual ticket somehow but i don't think it's possible.
rooney Posted 22 March, 2012 Posted 22 March, 2012 Honestly, do you really think that ? I don't understand some people's sense of entitlement. Why would you expect that ? You already got what you paid for. Yes I do really think that. Its called loyalty bonus.
Thedelldays Posted 22 March, 2012 Posted 22 March, 2012 ......will there be the saints player service...????
LGTL Posted 22 March, 2012 Posted 22 March, 2012 We're not going to have sell outs every week we can't get sell outs now while winning most of the time with chances of being champions. If people won't turn up now why are they going to turn up to watch us (most likely) lose more often and fight it out for a mid table postion.. Because all the losers who will only go when we are in the PL don't go to watch Saints, more the opposition.
Thedelldays Posted 22 March, 2012 Posted 22 March, 2012 Because all the losers who will only go when we are in the PL don't go to watch Saints, more the opposition. that is not true........not true at all...like saying why did we have 20k+ ST holders......because more people will see a prem game a better value for money... why else do you think league 2 clubs only get 5k fans
View From The Top Posted 22 March, 2012 Posted 22 March, 2012 I'll renew if we go up simply because my nipper has never watched EPL football at SMS but I'll lose out in the long run due to costs, midweek games etc...
terrasaint Posted 22 March, 2012 Author Posted 22 March, 2012 If demand outstrips ticket availability think it would be fair to priorities fans who regularly attended most matches this season. Might be too complex perhaps to include the two league one seasons. If they can then fair enough.
saints_is_the_south Posted 22 March, 2012 Posted 22 March, 2012 Think renewals for this season were £450 for the goals/wings, reckon you'll be looking at £550-£600 in the PL and £650-£700 new buy. Don't know about centre stands though. Would like to see any fan who has had a ST during the 7 year absence from the PL rewarded with some kind of discount, but know there is little chance of that happening.
Alain Perrin Posted 22 March, 2012 Posted 22 March, 2012 To be honest I am surprised that more clubs don't seek to have affordable tickets in order to fill the grounds. Compared to TV revenue, it's getting less significant. If Saints sold out every seat for every PL game, that's 'only' c.£10m (based on an average price of £17). Mind you, with player wages being what they are, it's not surprising that every penny counts.
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 22 March, 2012 Posted 22 March, 2012 I'm probably in the minority with this one, but I may not renew if we go up. This - its a 360 mile round trip for a home game for me at the moment, and as much as my season ticket has given me joy this year the mid-week games are an issue and the cost!
Saint Fan CaM Posted 22 March, 2012 Posted 22 March, 2012 My ST went from £395 to £515 when we went up to the NPC, so I'm fully expecting a similar hike in prices when we go up again to the Prem. Probably £620 I reckon - anything less than £590 and I'll be surprised and indeed 'happy'.
