chocco boxo Posted 21 March, 2012 Share Posted 21 March, 2012 so glad we have not got that gum chewing Fergie bum chum in charge. In Nigel we trust in Fat Sam the bubbles will bust!
saintbletch Posted 21 March, 2012 Share Posted 21 March, 2012 Agreed. Their goal last night summed him up perfectly. Hoof from defence and a looping, deflected Faye header dropping into the net behind the keeper. He has shown that he can be successful doing that but the West Ham fans prefer their bubbles in the air and their footballs on the ground - not the other way round. If they keep dropping points and fall into the playoff-chasing pack, with their owners, I wouldn't be surprised to see a change.
Window Cleaner Posted 21 March, 2012 Share Posted 21 March, 2012 . E I really think another manager would have those players top. Their players are inferior to ours and with the game in hand that they have they can be second which is their rightful place really. They've the advantage of having Reading at home and a victory there will see them promoted as likely as not. Fat Sam is still on course to get them promoted despite the nocive effect of their sh*te fans on them at home, that's what he's there to do and he probably will. Far too many of our fans consider West Ham's squad as being superior to ours, it isn't.We have the best striker in the league, the best OM,the best DM,two of the best CBs and probably the 2nd or 3rd ranked keeper, the spine is better than any other side and that's what it's all about. This Charming Man Posted 21 March, 2012 Share Posted 21 March, 2012 There were chants of "We want Di Canio" after Boro levelled last night. I reckon he'll be going there in the summer, no matter what happens. The way Fat Sam has spoken gives the impression that he's there to get them up and that's that. Raging Bull Posted 21 March, 2012 Share Posted 21 March, 2012 I know this sounds really bitter but I sooooo hope they fail in the play off's, primarily because they have the most arrogant set of fans around. I read earlier in the season that them being in the championship is like AC Milan dropping down a division. Not to mention that special brand of football they play. Chez Posted 21 March, 2012 Share Posted 21 March, 2012 I think fat Sam has done a decent job. Yes they play hoof ball ****, and yes they have bought players, but they are right there, challenging for promotion and as we all know this league is as tough as old boots. There is never a guarantee of going straight back up even if you do retain quite a lot of your Premiership squad. Newcastle apart, most big sides with huge wages that go down stay down. West Ham were terrible last season and he has turned a losing mentality into a winning one, all be it one that has stumbled recently. Sam has done what he has had to do. I'm not a fan, can't stand him or his style of football, but west Ham fans expectation levels have been sky high.

Really can't understand all the West Ham animosity, they're playing the football that they think they need to to achieve their goal. They've spent a lot of money, so have we, they pay high wages.. so do we,each in proportion to their revenues and expectations. None too enamoured of their fans but I've nothing against West Ham. stevegrant Posted 21 March, 2012 Share Posted 21 March, 2012 Any half-decent manager would fully expect to have them in the top 2. With the budget they have compared to every other team in the league (and I include serial mentalists Leicester in that), they should already have one foot back in the Premier League, and it's a damning indictment on Allardyce's management that they actually look like outsiders behind us and Reading at the moment. But if they can beat Peterborough in the match in hand they will be in the top 2.These matches in hand throw everything out of sync.Don't agree with them looking like outsiders either, they have all the cards in hand to make the top 2 as do we.Reading on the other hand have to beat West Ham.West Ham's home form is their problem and that may well be down to the nervosity of their fans. Do they look likely to do that at the moment? Posh have remembered how to score goals, West Ham can't score more than one at the moment. In fact, since the beginning of December, they've only scored more than one goal on three occasions (18 league games).
Window Cleaner Posted 21 March, 2012 Share Posted 21 March, 2012 Do you think they've under achieved though? No, they don't have the best squad or the best manager. They're where they should be.If West Ham had had the means at their disposition to beat the best side in the league at home and then draw away they'd be top,it's a simple as that. Yes, West Ham are decent away from home and Peterborough probably just had a flash in the pan last night. They've nothing left to play for and that leaves them a lot of liberty. For me it's because financially they are this year's Portsmouth. They're spending far money they do not have. I read somewhere they're looking at a £20 million loss this year alone, and they were thought to be already skint when they were relegated last year. If they aren't promoted, I predict administration and more poor innocent bystanders left with a bad debt.

I'd bet we're spending far more than we're earning as well,no doubt we have it covered but if we were going full financial fair play there's no way that we'd have a stack of players on shedloads a week. They have 48 million guaranteed from the PL, we have nothing like that, just a couple of mill from the TV and ticket sales etc. Plus they get 10K more than we do for each home game. derry Posted 21 March, 2012 Share Posted 21 March, 2012 West Ham have a unique problem because of the £37m owed to Sheffield Utd, the bulk of which they still have to pay next year, the transfer fees and wages plus other football debts they cannot go into administration and continue as a football club unless HMRC win the football creditors case. Window Cleaner Posted 21 March, 2012 Share Posted 21 March, 2012 Nolan on 50k a week and costing more than nearly all our signings. He should have had them top comfortably. just because he cost more and earns more that doesn't make him a better player than say Lallana or Morgan. They've both chosen to be loyal to the club and have wanted to stay thus offers for them have been turned down with no effect. The nucleus of our squad,ie the 16/18 players that make up the first team is far better than theirs.I just wish our fans would realise this and stop running them down. Window Cleaner Posted 21 March, 2012 Share Posted 21 March, 2012 (edited) If WHU offered any of our players 50k per week they'd be gone! maybe but they wouldn't get Adam or Morgan for the 3 million they paid for Nolan. 5 times that for the former and at least twice for the latter. How much did they get for Scott Parker? Edited 21 March, 2012 by Window Cleaner

Window Cleaner Posted 21 March, 2012 Share Posted 21 March, 2012 not at all not even in the same league as AVB really.Chelsea's players look as if they at least understand what they're supposed to be doing with DiMatteo. Another balls up by Abramovich. To think they paid 16 million to get him and probably about as much to get rid of him.
