They want to turn up to see a better team play, or to see better players or whatever. Would you turn down the extra 8000 or so supporters? There are probably plenty of reasons why people choose to buy a ticket, I don't see much harm in people wanting to follow a particular player if it gets bums on seats.

However, I went via Surrey Quays station on saturday and didn't have a clue where I was going so went into a pub to get a pint and asked some people in there. Three really sound Millwall fans walked me to the stadium and we had a good chat about the worst league one grounds we'd visited. They were really good blokes.

I think obviously an idiotic contigent is attracted to the club because of their reputation for violence and being pwoppa nawty, especially on the internet where 14 year olds can pretend to be all hard without actually doing anything. I think if an away team came to SMS and got 2 penalties which need supporting evidence to prove that they are clear (plenty of photos and videos out there to show that they were penalties, but those in the stadium will have had different views) then there would be plenty of fans on here after the game spouting off about being robbed and how the ref was a pr!ck etc. Still hate their fans and the club though.
