Millwall 2 Southampton 3 - Post Match Reaction

Most people are looking at the Saints result without realising they got 2 pens in the last 6 minutes. Very fortunate indeed - they aren't playing well at the moment. Getting the results, but not the shoe in to finish above us that a lot think.

West Ham News ‏ @WHUFC_News

Good fightback, but we needed to win it. 5 points off top, 3 off 2nd now :/ The gap is increasing. Southampton= Lambert FC and cheats....

How are we cheating?

Haven't you heard? Being better than West Ham is now a rule breaking offence as it infringes on their god given right to promotion.

After months of debate with myself, I finally flipped today and put Alpine on ignore at 2-1 down after yet another of his 'we're doomed Captain ' comments. I just couldn't take his pessimism!! And look what happened!! I love Saints.

Believe!!!!

I would never put Alps on ignore, he makes me feel superior. :)

Luckily enough by the sound of it, I was way from the radio and internet all afternoon playing a game of what they call in these here parts 'World Cup Willie' with the kids - I very nearly crashed the Mondeo when I heard the result on the drive home !

Results like this are the stuff promotions are made of .... but we're not there yet mind.

A very unhappy Millwall fan on Talksport, claims both penalties should not have been given !

Had 2 back to back.

The first one, I'm a level 7 ref and neither were penalties, then admitted he was at the other end of the ground. Great eyesight from 110 yards away. Pr!ck.

I think those crafty cockneys from Upton Park are forgetting the number of penalties they have won, or the fortunate goals they have scored of late.

Gonna feel like ****s when its pointed out both our pens were genuine :D

Yep, this point was made on Talk Sport

This is out year, and I for one am loving it!

A great result but looking at this game as an idicator as to where we will finish, it tells another story. A draw would have been a fair result and where I feel we are in terms of form at the present. At this level of form I don't expect to beat Hull and no guarantees of holding Reading. We need to find something extra than this performance to consider automatic.

Every single time I walked to the kitchen today another goal went in, so I'm laying claim to all of them, ha!

Apologies for keeping it 'interesting' until late :p

On a more serious note the overall post-match feeling for me is somewhat comparable to MK Dons at home last season. A somewhat baffling comeback that gives us a superb chance to press on and aim for the automatic promotion spots (I'm not greedy, either would do).

Ian Abrahams (The Moose) on Talksport has apparently tweeted that the refs are conspiring against West Ham and ensuring that we get promoted. ****ing idiot.

Let's hope the rest of the West Ham fans are continuing to meltdown as well, they'll pile so much pressure on their team it will crack.

Didn't they win two and draw with us with consecutive penalties?

Didn't look like a pen to me but whatever. Don't care! Great win. Can all those people on here banging on about Guly playing ahead of Sharp please wind your ****ing necks in. Didn't notice Sharp was on the pitch; Guly was a man mountain!!

I thought Sharp was excellent today and it was his runs on the break that directly led to both penalties.

Bit worried about Billy Sharp. He gets four mentions in the BBC live report of the game: (62:04) Dean Hammond leaves the field to be replaced by Billy Sharp. (74.42) Free kick awarded for a foul by Billy Sharp on Jack Smith. (90:00+1:07) Billy Sharp is caught offside. (90:00 + 2:11) Billy Sharp handles the ball and concedes a free kick. It will only be when the full 2nd half goes up on the OS that it will be possible to judge this, but its not encouraging and with Adkins not seeming to make much use of him, I would think he must be getting quite demoralised.
