Very amusing - but what was the final result??

I was just thinking the same. There must be a second part somewhere. I am going for 2-2

Touch of the Kelvin there as Nigel spills the ball at the save.......I wonder if NC goes down to the trainning ground for a bit of goal keeper trainning? How the hell did players run in those days surely the blood supply to their legs was cut off by their shorts....

Nah, those old "short shorts" were no more restricting than boxer shorts. In fact your legs had coomplete freedom. when baggy shorts came in I always thought how much of a pain it must be having them flapping around your legs when running or stretching, let alone having cheating bastards grab them to hold you back. Interesting that in rugby they have moved to tight kit from baggy so as to be more streamlined and less easily grabbed.

I took a screencap at 6:41 - wtf?!

Yeah as someone said above that is actually Nigel Blackwell from 'Half Man Half Biscuit' he was a huge Tranmere fan. Cancelled a TV appearance once as there was a game on Friday night.

all the younger fans are having a laugh ...but we all had haircuts like that at the time. Look at the old videos of Mick Channon.

In twenty years time, your kids / grandkids will ask... why did you play a lot of old men with bald heads?..and all the others had beards ?

Anyway, his determination and ambition is obvious - even at that age. Articulate, too.

Who could have thought that one day ...........(not him I bet ).

I was completely unaware when I made the screencap (and I have never heard of HMHB before!) - I just thought he looked fairly "lost" ;)

Taller people at the back and some pace..... Simple as that, really? Tactical genius!

"Simple as that" this phrase sounds familiar to me....this yank perhaps was an early role model for our Nige?

You realise that American chairman is Bruce Osterman right? he ran up shockingly huge debts on personal expenses for the club until they were finally saved by Peter Johnson...the telegraph called him a "a wolf in sheep's clothing".

Only got Four Lads Who Shook the Wirral and some of their Peel Sessions, anything else worth checking out?

'Back in the DHSS' their first album is a classic.

Trumpton Riots and Fu ckin' ell it's Fred Titmus were two of my favourites.

Words of gold from 'Our Nige' at end of Video (7.10 minutes to end). Thanks for that. I can see him taking the Saints all the way to the Champions League. Nigel's bus still has a long way to travel yet!

Thoughtful and focussed man even at that age. We are so lucky to have him. Also a genius move by Nicola to get him in.
