Fully booked for when we're looking to go.

depends what you want..if you are a bit of a snob...head towards Ibiza town..many "trendy" types go there who are too good for san antonio

if you don't care and want to get smashed....then san antonio bay.....(not the town)...pretty close to the west end (strip of bars)...es paradis and eden..

saying that, I went in 1998...the summer after Ibiza uncovered was on telly, so the whole resort was absolutely rammed

Want to do a couple of the super clubs, then just get off my face the rest of the time. I'm not pretentious, anywhere with cheap drinks and some easy ***** to chase and I'm happy.

I went to Radio 1 live in Manumission in 98...it was amazing night. I was worse for wear with my cheeks almost eaten off..

Amnesia is a cracking club as is es paradis....but the very best (IMO) is Pacha...

trouble is though, Ibiza is so full of pretentious coooonts it is unreal....especially around ibiza town..

the west end is the strip of bars and where most of the slappers are

it was expensive in 98...I dread to think what it is like now

we went last summer, stayed in a place called Sirenis Club Goleta & Tres Carabelas...not sensational, but a decent enough base for heading out from. Was about £450 all inclusive for a week each, no idea if that's any good but was helpful for lounging by the pool for some daytime drinking before heading out. Was booked through Lowcostholidays who I've read some dodgy reviews about but was fine for us...

We've been 3 times in the last 4 years and stayed at Hotel Marco Polo and Marco Polo II every time.

It's cheap as, but with air con, fridge in the room, decent enough pools.

We went in September and it cost us about £14pppn. For me, you don't need anything more when in Ibiza.

It's only a 5 minute walk from the west end strip, and less than that from the 3 bars on the beach - Bar M, Ithica...

Going back there this September for closing parties again. Love it

Make sure you go to Privilege, it's the biggest and best club on the island. Amnesia is good - best on a Thursday for Cream. And Space is well worth it. Sundays are best for that.

Eden and Es Paradis are underwhelming, which is annoying as they're in San An and you can often get free entry on quiet nights.

My best tip - don't buy tickets for nights from sellers, they'll often try to sell entry with unlimited drink before a certain time. It's a waste of time because you'll end up in the club too early and spend a fortune after the free drink. We always drink in the hotel when we're getting ready, go to the West End and get sh*tfaced, then go to a club at 1-2am.

Enjoy!

I went about a decade ago and did all the top clubs - Manumission, the glass pyramid (es paradis?), the orange muddy coloured one with the stupid foam which ruined my jeans - all a much of a muchness. Had far better times in the smaller free places. It certainly was a ****ed up place back then. We arrived about 10 p.m, dumped the cases, and as soon as we walked out the hotel/squat someone came up to us selling silver dollars. We went club 18-30 which I wouldn't recommend as it's like being in the groovy gang, wheras i'd rather do my own thing, but each to his own.

Anyone able to recommend any decent hotels in San Antonio?

Don't want anything posh, but not a complete khazi. A/C and swimming pool is a must. Four lads looking to cause as much mischief and havoc as possible so don't want anywhere family orientated.

Ta.

Hotel we stayed at was bang on mate. Will try and dig out the details and will send them over.

If anyone can find a link to Ibiza uncovered series 1 episode 4 i'd appreciate it. It was filmed when I was there in 97 - the night Manumission burned down. I was there that night but knew nothing about it until the next day.

I've always wanted to see Tiesto, so I'll be seeing him. Would like to see Sander Van Doorn as well.

tiesto was a major let down for me when I saw him a few years back...the place was so packed you could not actually move..people were keeling over all over the place with heat exhaustion..

eddie halliwell, now he is a DJ

sorry, but anything DJ Dougal would play loud and proud is cheese of the highest order

I'd love to find the posts you put up of badly remixed hardcore. I remember thinking at the time how sh/t it was, but was too polite to say so at the time.

Cafe del Mar was supposed to be good, but I didn't think much to it - reckon it'd had its day before I went and was cashing in on it's reputation. We instead drank in bar near it that was half the price and better. There's a nice little beach near there with banana boats and sh/t although I passed on that and drank the lager instead.

Can't really help on the Ibiza front, although if you need to chill out for a couple of hours see if Mixmaster Morris is playing somewhere.

Christ, some of that stuff dune and delldays have been posting is horrific. I'll let Josh Wink go - although this was clearly the dance tune of the mid 90's.

Stay away from San Antonio it's crap and there is no decent clubs to note. You want to be in Ibiza town, there is a beach called playa d'en bossa - near Space. All the hot chicks go there and sun bath, dance on beach etc. You can stay at the playa d'en bossa apartments, they are really cheap and they are fine and great location. I have been to Ibiza 8 times now and we usually stay that side of the island

Went with a group of lads and lassies in the summer of 1989 - can't remeber too much about it other than a massive club in the centre of the island, loads of "gay" bars in Ibiza town, bicycles on Formentera and crap hotels in San Antonio.

Was very messy and a fab holidays after finishing my A-Levels.

Places to visit...

Ushuaia - Defected in the house night (Not to rammed but very busy)

Circo Loco @ DC10

Cacoon @ Amnesia

Sankeys

Ibiza town bars

Pacha

Carl Cox or We Love @ Space

Bora Bora during day

In the West End..

Ground Zero & Hush

Stay away from..

Bars along sunset strip. Just take your own drink and sit on the rocks. It's the same f**king sun going down. (disagree massively, favourite place is a table at Mambo, nice food and sangria etc)

Soul City in West End

Eden. Unless you like shouting ENGEERRRLLANND every 5 mins

Paying for VIP Tickets. It's not VIP if you have to pay for them!

Off in September again, proper amazing place, got a lush villa this year as well. Interesting to look through this thread and see how bad some peoples music taste is.

The plan for my week is as follows:

Sat - Arrive and West End

Sun - We Love @ Space (best night on the Island)

Mon - DC10

Tues - Carl Cox @ Space

Wed - Ibiza Rocks

Thu - Cream @ Amnesia (not 100% on this one though, not massively keen)

Fri - Home time

Really is an amazing island, that gets better the more I go.
