The wheels are already in motion mate, fair few choices to be fair.

Don't think i fancy going back to that west indian pub near Norwood Junction which was clearly a front for other business going on out the back, and the bird who looked like she was on crack and thought she recognised me.

Quite like some of the pubs at clapham tucked away.

If we don't take 6K it will be a disgrace.

Too right it'll be...the b'stards have only given us 5,800 tickets.

Btw it wouldn't be a disgrace, in fact that's still a pretty decent following (although we were taking 10,000+ away at the later stages of the '78 promotion ;)), I also think we'll sell them with little problem.

did not need a ticket in 78, just get there before the Home FANS

I'll probably be in with the home fans.

Any particular reason why?

A former colleague of mine supports Palace, and I can't be bothered to hang out with him if Saints aren't playing. Plus Selhurst Park is about halfway between us so it should work out ok. However, either of us could be working on Easter Monday so it makes sense to just decide whether to go on the morning, by which point it would be surely far easier to get tickets with the home supporters (and maybe a few quiet Saints) who probably won't have sold out their end... sounds like a plan to me anyway?!

im hearing we sold 4k already

Why do you bother constantly spouting such absolute ********? :?

The OS article said we had an initial allocation of just over 3,000, which could rise to 5,817. It's fair to assume that we won't have all of those tickets available immediately, we'd have to request the extra batch from Palace.

Probably the prospect of a sunny Bank Holiday in London for Palace was a bit more appealing than the match v Millwall (not saying that's correct, just a suggestion).

It's a pity Leyton Orient couldn't have followed us up last season for another great day out in the sun (I was burnt last year), but I suppose Palace will do!

If they started selling from one of the end blocks, my tickets I just got would suggest we have sold out 3 blocks already. Think we'll sell out all 6k for this. They also appear to not be worrying with STH numbers, the guy wasn't interested in me giving them to him at the ticket office.

Who picks going to a game on the basis that it might be "sunny"? it's great that we're taking loads to this one, would be good if some of this enthusiasm to attend away games was spread across some of the less easy, obvious away trips.

Our support numbers wise is the best it's ever been.

Shame the bestest fans point scoring has reared it's ugly head again, I would love to go to every game in a season but I have a life beyond Saints and will pick easier trips because I am lazy, plus driving 1000+ miles a week also blunts your desire to drive 400 miles on a Saturday.

Anyway my mate acquired 6 tickets first thing this morning for a relatively simple trip to Crystal Palace, best make sure I have the kitchen rebuilt by then!!

Comes from winning games. Simple as that. Just a pity that demand is so vastly split between the easy aways and the tougher ones.

We are a family club. It's hardly a shock that families can't afford (both in monetary and time terms) the longer distance games, and avoid places like Millwall.

Given the hard times (thanks in no small part to Labour borrowing to the hilt and causing the inevitable squeeze on disposable incomes) I think our away support in terms of numbers is amazing, and like I've said it is the best it's ever been.

The two end blocks are left empty, check the Palace website it states what blocks we have.

Also Palace fans have been moaning all season about the amout of seats / blocks that are closed when the away teams bring large numbers.

I'll be really ****ed if i miss this one, reckon i'll have notched up between 14-16 aways this season by the end of it but i'm waiting on being paid. The club should definitely have done this as season ticket/most aways first to thank those of us that have put in the miles this season. The combination of an easy away and the sniff of success may see some miss out though which is a real mistake in my opinion

A sniff of success ? They are on sale to season ticket holders first. Most of the current season ticket holders were season ticket holders back in the dark days from 2005 though to summer 2009. I dont think you can classify any season ticket holder of this club as glory hunters.

I take your point about being made available to regular away travellers first but with an allocation of nearly 6000 expected this is hardly the ballot for Bournemouth from last season.....and am I not correct in thinking the tickets for Fratton Park didnt exaclty fly out of the ticket office ?

Anyone who wants to go to Palace should be able to go....even of they aren't in the Saints end.

Yes, the club should definitely change their policy on away matches because you haven't been paid yet.

Are you serious? Why would the club put in all that hassle when we have 6,000 tickets?!
