holepuncture Posted 14 March, 2012 Share Posted 14 March, 2012 Excellent - but before everyone starts licking their lips I must ask... why are we struggling to take 3k to Millwall on Saturday? Its next door to Palace, on St.Paddys day, dead easy to get to, safest away in the country and so on... I get that its not that family friendly but neither is Palace nor was Leyton or West Ham... we have lots of lads in the Northam, Kingland corner, Itchen etc, should be able to fill our allocation! Dellhurst MKII and this time we will be fighting to go up rather than stay up! IIRC it was closer to 12k with people dotted about in other stands? Cant wait. Yes, Steve got confirmation on twitter from their chairman that Peterborough terrace will still be there for our visit. Blimey, I thought that had been replaced for the start of this season! This changes everything.

alehouseboys Posted 14 March, 2012 Share Posted 14 March, 2012 what a day this will be, I remember dellhurst park day, we had well over 9,000 there and could have sold so many more....... we will easily sell these 5,817 tickets We were given 9,000 tickets for the entire Arthur Wait stand but another 3,000 bought through ticketmaster and were mainly housed down one end of the stand opposite. Plenty of Saints fans got in on 'home' tickets too...not the hardest job back then considering the opposition! Excellent - but before everyone starts licking their lips I must ask... why are we struggling to take 3k to Millwall on Saturday? Are we "struggling" to take 3k to Millwall? Don't forget we sold the initial 2k and only got the extra 1,000 a few days ago, does anybody really know how many are left? I'd be surprised if there are by the end of the week. It is far safer these days but it's still a tough place to go if you want it to be and whether it's 2,500 or 3,000 we're just one of only 2 or 3 clubs that have taken the bottom tier there in a very long time. shurlock Posted 14 March, 2012 Share Posted 14 March, 2012 I reckon we will. We all know how our fans love a safe away day. As opposed to what? The alcatraz fencing of the new den, a heavy OB presence and and your own chartered train service to and from london bridge? A thoroughly unsafe away day? Would rather a horde of hicks from hampshire at places like palace than the w**kish posturings that trips to Millwall always dredge up.

Would rather a horde of hicks from hampshire at places like palace than the w**kish posturings that trips to Millwall always dredge up. I'm fully aware of the security operation they have at Millwall, you don't need to convince me. I'm fully aware it's one of the safest away days going. It's the stigma that's attached to Millwall that puts off our fans. Hence why we took more to Coventry than we did to 'wall in the next round of the cup and are struggling to shift 3,000 tickets for it, when you couldn't get a ticket for love nor money for Orient and Palace in years gone by.
