would be brilliant to have 5000 up there on a saturday evening! could be an epic end of the season with thousands going to Peterboro on the Tuesday before , no excuses for not getting tickets in this seasons run in, more than enough to go round, the fixtures have been kind.

still loads available for Millwall on saturday - general sale for a London saturday away game.

Really disapointed with this. We need big numbers up there for this one and it's a long way to go, there will be lots that opt for the TV that might have made the trip.

Hopefully those who do make the effort to travel will be rewarded. Also, it could have been worse, there's a Monday night slot for the Championship that weekend :uhoh:

Why are so many people put off by a slightly later kick off?

More drinking time, get out of bed at a more civil hour etc.

We should take big numbers, but so many of our fans get very travel sick. Even for what will probably be a crucial game.

Because I strongly suspect getting back from Boro by train is now impossible.

Pain in the arse.

Yep I live in Nottingham and there is only 1 train back after the game which gets in at 12:30am.

Still going, will stay overnight up there now.

All it needs is a bit of initiative.

There are plenty of overnight options, Newcastle's not far away, nor is York. Both are great places to visit and have decent nightlife.

This website has loads of great offers for that weekend in both of those cities, and includes off-peak return travel (on any off-peak train, you're not restricted to a specific booked service) from London Kings Cross, going up on the Friday, returning on the Sunday (or Saturday to Monday if you prefer), and two nights' stay in a hotel. It's as little as £66.50 in York and £68 in Newcastle.

Alternatively, if people really can't/don't want to stay over, why not organise a coach or mini-bus, or even just a car-load of people? Newcastle also has an airport, and you can fly from Southampton.

Not bad news at all. The option is there to drive up on the day and still have plenty of drinking time. Will probably still go on Friday though and stay in Newcastle for a weekend on the p*ss. Train can't be too expensive from Newcastle to Boro.

There should be plenty riding on the game, I really can't see why anyone who would want to witness a promotion party, would be put off because it's on TV. I like to think there will be an army of Saints making the long trip for a messy weekend and be rewarded with a promotion party. Yellows!

Still money that people wouldn't have to spend should it have been a 3pm Steve. Although if people want to go badly enough, then they will go, simples.

This is the crux of the matter, really.

Even for a 3pm kick-off, unless you live in or around London, you'd still be looking at spending more than 12 hours of the day on a train at a cost of at least £85 return, getting home after 1am, so it's hardly ideal anyway.

Relax, my footie predictor has us being up by then.

1 Saints 91pts

2 Reading 85pts

3 Wham 83pts

:)

Personally I believe Reading will start to falter after they have one game where they fail to win - bit like Brum did a few weeks ago after they had 5/6 wins on the bounce, and a bit like Reading did last season. Could be a promotion party at Boro.

We're getting a mini bus up and having a night out in Newcastle

No chance I would miss a potential promotion party. Anyone who was at Plymouth last year will not want to miss this! And anyone that feels they missed out by not going to Plymouth, well heres your chance.

Would you really want to potentially miss something 10 times better than this?

Return trains from London to York and 2x nights in the Travelodge there, £79 per person. BARGAIN. Train between York and Boro is only around £10 return as well.

Link for that mate?

Or is it just booked through the 2 seperate websites?

how many times will that be for live on TV this season? Must be some sort of Championship record, and well more than a lot of prem teams.

That'll be 10 live games this season, 8 on Sky and 2 on the BBC.

As a guide, Wigan have had 6 live games on Sky or ESPN this season so far, and looking at their fixture list it appears as though they're scheduled to have two more.

Well done for finally jumping on the bandwagon :D Will be a good weekend this, late kick off on a Saturday, up in the north-east, loads on the p**s, decent way to sign off the season regardless of promotion etc.

Exactly this. Apart from I think we're having 2 nights out in Newcastle.

Missing this is not an option. How gutted would you be if you missed it due to being a pussy about a long trip or a few quid spent..... Nothing would beat a promotion to the prem party.

I'm doing it in conjunction with Posh then onwards the following day for a few days exploring the Cleveland Hills before the M'bro match. Just priced it on Trainline at £120; £40 Taunton - P'boro; £20 onwards to M'bro (£40 1st class option) and £60 back on the Sunday.

Was going but now can't. Impossible to get back to Salisbury by train after the match. Daughter's birthday on the Sunday so no chance of an overnighter. Was the same for Leeds (not because of daughter's birthday) - couldn't get back same day or else would have gone.

we surely have enough fans based around the salisbury area to run a coach up to a game like this?

or so the short drive to southampton and go up from there and back in a day, gets you to the game (potential promotion decider) and back in time for the birthday.

as someone said above, for those who really want to be there, they'll find a way
