Henderson signed by West Ham with a 'substantial down payment', enough to ensure West Ham keep their 6 points.

Jason Pearce is also signing for them

Now Hayden Mullins is off on loan to Reading

Don't think they're deliberately doing it. They need to loan players out, West Ham don't want to lose the 6 points so will do what they can. Reading want to get promoted so will take advantage of any team offloading their better players which may make an impact at they're club. Don't forget these players were wanted by other clubs before but couldn't match the skates wages.

I reckon we should put in a bid too good to turn down for Pearce and then employ him soley as the guy who announces injury time or something. Just for banter.

Don't know, I don't know if he's any good or whether he would join us anyway. Is he a skate fan? To be honest, I don't think there is many of their players that would get in our matchday squad. Maybe Pearce/Ward ?

Loaning their players out to Portsmouth is one thing and obviously does not breach any league rules.....however paying Portsmouths bills, YES PAYING THEIR BILLS!....I can not believe there are no football league rules being broken by West Ham doing this!

I think the league will be more than happy with this as it ensures Pompey see out the season, which I think they would've done just about anyway. Pompey going bust is a headache they don't need right now. Can't see it helps West Ham out at all really. They're signing players that are no better than they have and weakening Pompey who we play in a few weeks.

Can't see Henderson displacing Green this season, however next season he could be their No.1 as Green is out of contract then.

Mullins, if he goes to Reading won't get into its team straight away either.

Joel Ward would be a decent signing, but he seems Pompey through and through, and he rejected the chance to leave in January as well.

The simple solution to the problem of a club temporarily propping up another for its own benefit is to not allow loans between clubs in the same division. Simple.

Would also stop clubs loaning out players to clubs their rivals are about to play e.g. Nouble to Barnsley and Piquionne to Doncaster
