BUDGET AS YET UNKNOWN. Like at least 55' , have a pump out, fixed double, really good MARINE engine, 10,6,4 hull prefered, solid fuel stove, central heating, cruiser stern a must.

Don't worry about blacking, as long as the boat passes asn in depth survey, to include electrics. We want brand new leisure batteries included in the sale and I know a little about good and bad boatbuilders; hence no ex-hire and definitely no 'East to West' and most importantly, we do not require a mooring as e are off to discover Britain's canals and will be constant cruising.

If it was 35ft you wanted, my parents are trying to sell theirs. Has only sunk once during a winter several years ago. Moored in Caversham if interested.

Plans scuppered by stingey bank manager. Damnit!

Still going to Crick though.

That 70 footer sounds nice Mr landford and thanks LVsaint for the heads up, 35 foot would be way too small....mrs h would take up most of that with her rubbish, leaving no room for the essentials (ie my rubbish).

Anyway, we're back on Morpheus in May with the option of extending the trip to 3 weeks. That would be immense but unfortunately the new job would mean taking unpaid leave, so quite disappointed to miss the opportunity putting up with each other at close quarters on a trial basis. Maybe it's for the best as she does have some filthy habits.. ;-)

Ah, sorry. I didn't realise your bank manager didn't like you AT ALL.. Perhaps he found out you were a football fan from the south coast: guilt by association and all that...

When I said he don't like me I didn't mean 'at all', it's just that his offer of 29.9% apr was a tad high especially considering that any boat would depreciate.

We viewed a couple of budgety 'require modernisation' types that in all honesty should be scrapped to free up some moorings, one didn't even have a water tank and the lady selling tried to convince us that 'you get used to it'!

Plan B is to wait 2 years, sell the big house, buy 1 x smaller house 1 x boat, sail away spending the rental money on red diesel and real ale as we go about our merry way.

End of the day, living down here is pretty much the icing on the cake, even if the cake hasn't quite risen as expected (yet).

Jeez, the banks do like to take the p***. Mind you, perhaps he's suggeting he doesn't see you as a good risk. [ducks] No family you could borrow from so that both sides could gain and leave out the sodding bank?
