London Saint Posted 16 March, 2012 Share Posted 16 March, 2012 I would go with... Davis Richardson Fonte Hooiveld Fox Chaplow (if fit) Cork Morgan Lallana Sharp Lambert This team for me too. Think you need Chaplows energy and bite in midfield over Guly/SDR who can be more luxury options...

Saints Warrior Posted 16 March, 2012 Share Posted 16 March, 2012 Always plenty tickets on day as home gates are very low and loads go up with no ticket. Saints should have an almost sold out section though. betting says this is a close game, so i will take 1-0 to Saints

IFHP Posted 17 March, 2012 Share Posted 17 March, 2012 Disappointing it's not more really. 2500 is the most we have ever taken to Millwall, both at the Old and New Dens. We all know that if this was any other london club with 3,000 tickets we would have sold out.
Dr Who? Posted 17 March, 2012 Share Posted 17 March, 2012 I think we will win, Reading will draw and West Ham will lose. Not a bad turn out today, if I got to the football I need to take my 10 year old or 3 year old, and that folks is the reason I am not going! I am sure that there are many in the same boat. I'd imagine we'll sell a few more on-the-day, looks like we just gotta accept Millwall's reputation is always gonna put fans off...not surprising when you look at some sections of our support. Still, 2,500 to 3,000 is not a bad turnout...could be worse you could be a skate who only took 600. Best travelling support in this division? Gotta be Wet Sham, taking 5,000 to Leeds today. Professor Posted 17 March, 2012 Share Posted 17 March, 2012 One or two people thought that we won't miss Lee today because we did well enough before he arrived. I'd say we may not miss him too much but not for that reason. To have Billy Sharp available as cover for an injured first choice international striker is just amazing and something most of us would not have dreamt possible back in December when we were not doing all that well at all (26Nov to 2 Jan was 8 points from 8 games). The strengthening up front could be making all the difference and if BS helps us to a win today Adkins' comments about squad depth will be proven right again. Odd that Leeds are saying that this isnt true as the most the away end holds is 3,300 and it can't be increased due to STH sitting next to the away fans. Might be a mistake on the WHU OS but if it is true then that is a cracking effort from them

RobM Posted 17 March, 2012 Share Posted 17 March, 2012 Amazing. Why buy Sharp to leave him on the bench week-in, week-out? I can understand it when it's because of Lee's excellent form, but when he isn't available and we're playing a RM'er up front, something doesn't make sense. Saint Garrett Posted 17 March, 2012 Share Posted 17 March, 2012 I think Adkins likes to start with Guly as it lets us be more flexible with formations as it means we dont have to play with 2 direct forwards.
S-Clarke Posted 17 March, 2012 Share Posted 17 March, 2012 That specific 11 have produced some amazing displays this year, reminds me of the teams which have taken apart Boro, Brum at home etc. It's got a good feel about it. Lots of movement on and off the ball, should be quite a dynamic/fluid formation. That's why I don't think Billy is starting.

S-Clarke Posted 17 March, 2012 Share Posted 17 March, 2012 Why isn't Sharp being played ffs!? Something doesn't seem right when Guly is ahead of him. Because Guly isn't actually that bad, and he enables us to be very dynamic tactically and in our formations. Gives NA more options if it isn't working, and he still has Billy on the bench. Not surprised at all, I simply don't think Billy is fit enough or dynamic enough at the mo to play the way NA wants us to play.

MOSaint Posted 17 March, 2012 Share Posted 17 March, 2012 (edited) Now you've done it. Now you mention it, only three sides have been worse at home and we lost against two of them. Also not surprised that Cork has been rested here, he tends to have a hard time against physically strong sides who close down and limit space. Tom28 Posted 17 March, 2012 Share Posted 17 March, 2012 Why is everyone crying over the fact we're playing Guly instead of Sharp? Guly knows the system in side and out. He has scored one fewer goal than Sharp in the league so you can't question his goalscoring credentials. Sharp has hardly set the place on fire when he's played. Also, Hammond ahead of Cork...anyone questioning that should watch the Adkins pre match press conference for an explanation. Stop second guessing, support all 16 of them, let's stuff Millwall!!!!!
