Millwall build up thread

Disappointing it's not more really.

2500 is the most we have ever taken to Millwall, both at the Old and New Dens. We all know that if this was any other london club with 3,000 tickets we would have sold out.

I think we will win, Reading will draw and West Ham will lose.

Not a bad turn out today, if I got to the football I need to take my 10 year old or 3 year old, and that folks is the reason I am not going! I am sure that there are many in the same boat.

I'd imagine we'll sell a few more on-the-day, looks like we just gotta accept Millwall's reputation is always gonna put fans off...not surprising when you look at some sections of our support. Still, 2,500 to 3,000 is not a bad turnout...could be worse you could be a skate who only took 600.

Best travelling support in this division? Gotta be Wet Sham, taking 5,000 to Leeds today.

One or two people thought that we won't miss Lee today because we did well enough before he arrived. I'd say we may not miss him too much but not for that reason. To have Billy Sharp available as cover for an injured first choice international striker is just amazing and something most of us would not have dreamt possible back in December when we were not doing all that well at all (26Nov to 2 Jan was 8 points from 8 games). The strengthening up front could be making all the difference and if BS helps us to a win today Adkins' comments about squad depth will be proven right again.

Odd that Leeds are saying that this isnt true as the most the away end holds is 3,300 and it can't be increased due to STH sitting next to the away fans. Might be a mistake on the WHU OS but if it is true then that is a cracking effort from them

A little off topic, but it made me laugh. Just been on KUMB and a WHU fan has starting referring to us as 'Lambert FC'. Moron

Funny, coming from a Nolan FC fan.

(Said in jest because both comments are as stupid as each other)

Amazing. Why buy Sharp to leave him on the bench week-in, week-out? I can understand it when it's because of Lee's excellent form, but when he isn't available and we're playing a RM'er up front, something doesn't make sense.

That specific 11 have produced some amazing displays this year, reminds me of the teams which have taken apart Boro, Brum at home etc. It's got a good feel about it. Lots of movement on and off the ball, should be quite a dynamic/fluid formation.

That's why I don't think Billy is starting.

I think Adkins likes to start with Guly as it lets us be more flexible with formations as it means we dont have to play with 2 direct forwards.

If true, that suggests Lambert and Sharp cannot play together, or Sharp can only be a sub to come on later in games.

Why isn't Sharp being played ffs!? Something doesn't seem right when Guly is ahead of him.

Because Guly isn't actually that bad, and he enables us to be very dynamic tactically and in our formations. Gives NA more options if it isn't working, and he still has Billy on the bench.

Not surprised at all, I simply don't think Billy is fit enough or dynamic enough at the mo to play the way NA wants us to play.

Still no Sharp up front....Must be wondering what he has to do!!

Saints Vs Millwall: Davis. Richardson, Fonte, Hooiveld, Fox. Chaplow, Hammond©, Schneiderlin, Lallana. Guly, Lambert #saintsfc

give Guly a virus or something it's got to be in his contract that he has to play if 100% fit, strange not seeing Cork again, i don't think Hammond gives us what cork gives us. I thought Sharp looked so much better last saturday, his movement and link play with DC was quite good for the short time he was on.

Now you've done it. :uhoh:

Now you mention it, only three sides have been worse at home and we lost against two of them.

Also not surprised that Cork has been rested here, he tends to have a hard time against physically strong sides who close down and limit space.

I'm nervous (Again)

I am always a bag of nerves these days. Looking at fixtures and league tables. Does not help that I know loads of Reading fans, and a few West Ham. Also the fact I cannot stand West Ham. Knowing that one of these could stop us winning the league, or both could stop us going up makes me feel very sick!

Why is everyone crying over the fact we're playing Guly instead of Sharp? Guly knows the system in side and out. He has scored one fewer goal than Sharp in the league so you can't question his goalscoring credentials. Sharp has hardly set the place on fire when he's played.

Also, Hammond ahead of Cork...anyone questioning that should watch the Adkins pre match press conference for an explanation.

Stop second guessing, support all 16 of them, let's stuff Millwall!!!!! COYS

I'm desperate for promotion. If we get it, I think we will be living for a while in the comfort of mid table with no real nerve shredding table permutations. After the last couple of years I need the rest!

But Hammond and Morgan can't play together...or at least that's what we keep being told by some of the "experts" on this very forum.Although if the truth be known they can very well but the result just doesn't suit some of the Paine,Sydenham,Huxford and Walker fans.Probably none of them would get a game in today's football.
