Millwall build up thread

it means you are downstairs (with me). I think we are one of the few sides that have ever taken both tiers. Certainly we haven't before. West Ham, Wolves and not too many others have I think. Stattos?

And Norwich last season. (They only let West Ham have upper tier.)

#Saintsfc striker Tadanari Lee a major doubt for trip to Millwall with ankle injury. Was on crutches today. Connolly also doubtful.

Sharp and Lambert upfront then.

This is a could opportunity then for Sharp to show us what he's about.

****.

We'll miss him, big time.

Lee was great at stretching the field and making space for others, but this is what we have a big squad for. Opportunity knocks for Sharp now, or even Guly up front and Chaplow, De Ridder, or Puncheon coming into the team / squad. Lee was doing brilliantly but now Sharp can offer us something else and I am sure we'll do well.

Would like to see Sharp & Lambo given another go but could see Nige bringing in Chappers on the right with Guly up front.

We have plenty of cover for Lee and were doing pretty good before he signed so I see no reason to panic. Hope its nothing that will keep him out for too long though. He is brilliant at playing off the shoulder of the defender and getting in behind which creates space for others and gives us another attacking option. Not sure if Sharp plays like this or not. Not seen enough of him yet to judge.

other teams could fill the lower tier but are not given tickets on safety grounds, Leeds for example.

If Sharp starts, would like to see SDR given a chance.

Thought the tactics at Watford worked a treat - they squeezed up but we were able to keep them honest with Lee's pace in behind. If Lee can't do that, perhaps SDR can. Saying that he was poor against Millall in the cup and Puncheon shone.

Still dont think Chaplow has done nearly enough to start.

Love the fact that we are concerned about losing Lee for this game and may have to rely on 1.8m Billy Sharp, one of the divisions proven best strikers as his replacment!

Win or lose, we have come a long way from the not too distant past.

Thank you Markus & NC. A simple sentiment and I hope they knew/know how much joy we get from what they did.

Once again another very tricky game that could very easily end in disaster. 1-2 Millwall...lucky break to win the game in stoppage time.

You've predicted "banana skins" and "tricky games" for the last 3 games now, you said we'd lose them all. Carry on mate, seems to be working.

Am looking forward to this game as I love doing London games so this one will be no exception!

Will now be getting the train either from Cambridge into London or from Dartford as I'm going to

see my Brother who is coming back home for Easter so will get dropped off at one of them stations

and then on to Millwall!

Am Gutted that Lee will be missing But am still going for a 2-1 Saints win now with goals from

Lambert n Sharp/Lalanna But we'l see!

Am also debating on whether to get a drink before or not so where will fans be drinking before the game...!?!

Am also going to be in the Lower tier which should be Good!

Also hopefully Leeds and Barnsley will do us a favour v West Ham and Reading But we'l see!

COYR!!! :D

If he does that and history repeats itself, they will equalise from the kick-off :(

Rickie knows how to deal with that situation now. He'll manage to get back for a spectacular off-the-line clearance, then jump into the crowd to celebrate the final whistle with the Saints fans

I now think we're going to win easily. Then scrape a win at Hull, then thrash Donnie. In a week's time we'll be clear at the top.

I could see that happening although the Hull game will be very tough - I'd settle for a draw there.

I can't see Hammond being dropped. Adkins was glowing about his recent performances (particularly the ground he covered on the pitch and his pass completion rate).

He's usually glowing (on the OS) about people he's about to drop. I think he does it to keep their confidence up, has no-one else noticed this yet ?

That was horrendous at the time. I remember Stelling saying some of the Saints fans in the studios were celebrating and then were crushed after the equaliser.

I remember the Millwall fans streaming out hurling abuse, then piling back in again to hurl even more.

Any idea the best way to get a ticket for this now? I realise I am leaving it late but.....

you can probably pay on the day, we haven't sold out. Last time we played there you could buy tickets at the ground, probably the same again but give them a call to check

I got a ticket online earlier in the week, they said they take uncollected tickets up to the game with them and you can collect from the box office. Do I still take the away fans route to from the station if needing to collect?
