supersonic Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Just scored a first half hat-trick away at runaway leaders Charlton. With a few obsessing over Holmes setting up a few goals at Oxford (in the league below Notts County) and using the same logic, surely we should recall Forte and star using him?
Joesaint Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Well he did very well in that 1 all important match last year without which we may have had to go through play-offs.
the saint in winchester Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Would be interesting to read Notts County fans feedback on his performance to date.
Dr Who? Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Good league 1 player now then, as we head towards the Prem!

RECALL HIM ? ....CERTAINLY NOT. He's getting some games at last, whereas he'd be lucky to get on the bench if he were still at SMS. OK ...it's L1 but ....if he can carry on like this, a few people will need to revise their opinion of him......another half dozen before end of season, and he'd be worth keeping.
Roger Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Better than guly!! Are u mad? Guly did well today and is in a different league.
scotty Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 BWP surely we should resign him! Why, are we short on mobiles?

It was mostly tongue-in-cheek, although he's being doing the business in front of goal since going there. I said it more as a p*ss-take over the Lee Holmes thread.l I like Forte, he's quick and left-footed, which bring a natural different dimension to any team, but we now have better. Like Holmes, L1 is probably his level, although you could say Charlton's team are championship quality...
Whitey Grandad Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Good for him. I don't think we need him at the moment. Who would you drop for him?
Glasgow_Saint Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Good for him. I don't think we need him at the moment. Who would you drop for him? Guly
supersonic Posted 10 March, 2012 Author Posted 10 March, 2012 Good for him. I don't think we need him at the moment. Who would you drop for him? Probably Davis. JF scored more goals in 15 seconds v MK dons last year than he has in nearly 300 games
saintscottofthenortham Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Are u mad? Guly did well today and is in a different league. You're out for a reaction (again).
Roger Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 You're out for a reaction (again). No, just out for someone not talking absolute rubbish.
VectisSaint Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Are u mad? Guly did well today and is in a different league. True, difficult to argue that Guly actually is in a different league to Forte. But in any case there is no comparison, hard working, talented Brazilian playing regularly in top of the Championship table team, and a very poor, positionally crap player in league one who seems to have had one of those days when he could do nothing wrong, shame about the other 364 or 365 days of the year. Forte has one quality, speed. Sadly speed is no use when you have no footballing brain and always start a run from a standing start, whenever I have sen him he reminds me of the game we used to play at school, statues. But well done to the lad today.
SaintSteve Posted 11 March, 2012 Posted 11 March, 2012 Better than guly!! I hope that was a joke..otherwise you are.
Turkish Posted 11 March, 2012 Posted 11 March, 2012 Jonno quick is a class act that was basly treated by Nige. Im delighted to see him getting a chance. Pace and Power FACT.
VectisSaint Posted 11 March, 2012 Posted 11 March, 2012 Jonno quick is a class act that was basly treated by Nige. Im delighted to see him getting a chance. Pace and Power FACT. Of course, now run along.
derry Posted 11 March, 2012 Posted 11 March, 2012 Of course, now run along. To be fair, he was quick, and he showed good skill and awareness, good run for the first from deep into the goal area to finish, quick as a flash to nick the ball off the goalkeeper and a quality glancing header for the third.

LostBoys Posted 12 March, 2012 Posted 12 March, 2012 He looked good in the highlights - he needed games but he was never going to get them with SFC as we pushed on for the Championship and now the Promised Land
david in sweden Posted 12 March, 2012 Posted 12 March, 2012 this entire story is a hype to give him options at the end of season. IF ...we were still L1 and had him on loan we'd be screaming to sign him for next season, so too will Notts County. As it is - he's certainly good enough (and a bit to spare) for L1 and County are in the play-off slot right now. Unless he scores another couple of hat-tricks I'd say he bedding himself in for a move IF County go up, then he'll still be CC level - and v.good at that. If he becomes Jordan Rhodes mark 2 ..NO! I'm not comparing them.....then we'll have him back because he's still our player, and he'll be happy to sit on the bench - if /when we become a Prem. side.
alpine_saint Posted 12 March, 2012 Posted 12 March, 2012 Better than guly!! Christ you are such a mong.
Super_Uwe Posted 12 March, 2012 Posted 12 March, 2012 Jonathan Forte is the closest player to Mickey Evans we've had. He may never play for the Saints again, but he will go down in history as having been in the right place at the right time when we needed him most. For that I salute you sir!
