timb289 Posted 10 March, 2012 Share Posted 10 March, 2012 Did anyone see this after MOTD 2 last Sunday, was a well made programme on their rise to the premier league. Do you think Cortese has been making one over the last two years? It would knock the **** out of QPR's documentary!
Dig Dig Posted 10 March, 2012 Share Posted 10 March, 2012 Don't think it would mate, I should imagine (hope) that we run a lot more of a stable ship (boat, bus whatever!) than those clowns at QPR. Would probably be less entertaining but would be great to take a look behind the scenes.
timb289 Posted 10 March, 2012 Author Share Posted 10 March, 2012 Yea, 8 managers in two seasons is definitely not a stable ship but as you said made a cracking programme!
Saint Garrett Posted 10 March, 2012 Share Posted 10 March, 2012 Sure as soon as Cortese knew about the position of the club, he had his long term and short term plans set out. I'm sure he has a plan if we get to the prem this year or next year.
Noodles34 Posted 10 March, 2012 Share Posted 10 March, 2012 I saw it and was amazed, though i could imagine NC in the stands calling Pards 'a f ucking idiot' and want to sack him! "tell him to bring on f ucking Guly! or he's fired" These owners have put big money in and expect big results instantly, that documentary proved you have to be a bit more pragmatic. Red And White Barmy Army Posted 10 March, 2012 Share Posted 10 March, 2012 Well made program? Are you serious?! Had biases left right and f*cking centre. Conveniently put in the bit where Flavio Briotorri (sp) told them to put on a certain player and then cut to a clip of him scoring a header a bit later on. I wonder how many times he told them to send on a player who fell on his ass. And they did well to brush over the quick hiring and firing of Paul Hart for some reason. There was something else which came to mind which I can't remember now. Made me feel very very lucky to have Cortese tbh! He may have a touch of arrogance about him but it is nothing compared to those freaks.
timb289 Posted 10 March, 2012 Author Share Posted 10 March, 2012 I was talking about from an entertainment perspective it was well made, disregarding the editing that favoured the chairmen.

Just cos of the subbing of Mahon request? you are the one who cant be serious as portrayed him as a mug and it was the Agag (asian guy) who was only one to come out ok and was his production funnily enough. gold tv though
September Saint Posted 10 March, 2012 Share Posted 10 March, 2012 Whatever issues we may have about Cortese he is infinitely better than Briatore Didn't he arrange for a crash in F1 because it suited his stategy? With that pillock Paladini in the film it seemed like a Scorsese movie. I was expecting DeNiro to come round the corner saying "You talkin' to me" P.S Where's Flyer when you need him? S-Clarke Posted 10 March, 2012 Share Posted 10 March, 2012 I thought it was bloody interesting, and it showed up Favio to be an utter knee-jerking, fickle idiot who is better away from any English football team. So interesting to hear their story from a behind the scenes view, and seeing what players actually think of all this chopping and changing. What was also interesting is that no matter how rich they are as individuals, all they were speaking about was cost cutting, selling a player to buy etc.
