the saint in winchester Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Just been casting an eye over this. Looks like £3M is the benchmark for a midtable Prem side, up to £5M for a top 6 manager. http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/the-rundown/top-30-best-paid-managers-180530845.html The budget for salaries, wages etc will need to be reviewed when/if we have Premiership income from TV etc. It would be crass to speculate on what Adkins is getting now, but he's worth every pound!!
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 I expect Cortese has probably had the budget for a Premier League season sorted sice we were in League One.
old_southy Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 What is Big Sam on ? I would have thought he would have made the list.
benjii Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 at Villa and QPR. Paying those sort of sums for chumps like Hughes and McLeish. ****ing hell. So stupid.
pangy Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Eye watering and depressing You get paid what you can not what you are worth, fact of life
doggface Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Unbelievable sums! It's premier league btw it has not been premiership for years
Saint Garrett Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Surprised how much they earn to be honest. I thought it was far less than that on average.

Seem to recall that NA was said to be on circa 60k at Scunny and Cortese doubled that when he signed him. Not a lot really but we were in L1. However, it's anyone's guess what NA's current contract is worth now that it's been extended. Based on the earlier figures about 150 or 200k may be near the mark. TBH anything less than 1m in the PL would probably be short changing Nigel as it appears managers of lesser quality may well be getting much more than that and NA has a string of football and academic qualifications that few others can match, as well as a winning managerial record that few can match.
