JackanorySFC Posted 9 March, 2012 Posted 9 March, 2012 After drinking for the evening in a bar following a hotly contested derby at his home ground, staunch Saints supporter **** was by his own admission “hammered”, after some lively discussion and some rowdy singing he them became abusive by shouting “this pub is full of skates”, when the Pompey fans pulled him up he lashed out attacking 3 Pompey fans and even a fellow Saints fan that tried to intervene. A witness said: “He was very drunk, angrier than anyone I’ve seen”. The OB turned up and grabbed one’s notebook and wrote “this is a Pompey country, good OB unite and make things right”. Now what do you think this fan got? 6 year banning order and 4 year sentence? Seems about right in this day and age yeah? Nah, £3k fine, ban from pubs for 3 months and 12 months conditional discharge. Sorry, this is the bit where I admit I lied, it wasn’t a Saints (or any other football fan) but in fact a MP. Oh, an MP who’s kept his job as well. One rule for them, one for Football supporters and one for everyone else it seems? This country's a joke! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/9133132/Hammered-Eric-Joyce-spared-jail-after-attacking-MPs.html

You're right mate, this country is an absolute joke.
buctootim Posted 9 March, 2012 Posted 9 March, 2012 (edited) can't see a problem here... Ditto. No-one received any injuries, he pleaded guilty at first opportunity has ruled out seeking election and will be suspended by the House of Commons for a period yet to be determined. I actually really liked his open and honest interview on that Telegraph site. He didnt try and hide away or wriggle out of anything. He messed up bigtime and has held his hands up to it. Could use more of that kind of honesty in parliament imo. As it happens my ex got a very similar sentence for the same kinds of offences involving me and the neighbours (except she wasnt drunk) so the 'one rule for them' stuff is junk. Lord Duckhunter Posted 9 March, 2012 Posted 9 March, 2012 If I acted like that during my works Xmas party I would be sacked. Let's hope the Labour party chuck him out, followed by the voters.

You should really try and google a conviction and stick to it, otherwise you just look like an empty vessel.

dune Posted 9 March, 2012 Posted 9 March, 2012 It's funny because when I heard the sentence given to the scum Socialist I thought he'd never have got such a light slap on the wrist if it had been in any way football related.
dune Posted 9 March, 2012 Posted 9 March, 2012 What are you on about now? I really wish you hadn't asked to spare us the nausea of the reply.

I saw two skates walking over the main road with blood pouring down their fishy faces that day. (I assume you are talking about the FA Cup match 2 years ago)

Turkish Posted 9 March, 2012 Posted 9 March, 2012 And he kept his 65K a year job for another 3 years........... Yet despite one of of the fence rattlers potentially losing his business and having to make 11 people redundant he was still jailed.as already said, joke.

I don't see why some people get so worked up about this..........Unless they feel causing trouble at football matches should be allowed......Honestly the whole world in unfair it's just life......

So who is to blame for this fella kicking off?
dubai_phil Posted 9 March, 2012 Posted 9 March, 2012 What hacks ME off about this is all he has to do is "keep" his job to the end of Parliament and he will be entitled to a 65k Relocation allowance when he (rightly) gets kicked out by his voters Anyone else getting into a public ruckus in a bar in UK would NEVER get THAT from their employer (or a Job again), so big eye on the Labour Party now to ensure he gets booted out before the next election. (Which IF that happens he'd ONLY pick up a 32k relocation allowance. God Bless Democracy eh?
The9 Posted 9 March, 2012 Posted 9 March, 2012 I would imagine the lack of nationally widespread MP violence involving large groups of people, causing civil disturbances in numerous town centres over a 15 year period, would be the reason for the different punishments.

Political violence/ disputes have taken far more lives than football violence, and spanning centuries not 15 years. One of the biggest pre arranged tear ups this country has ever seen was at Cable St when Mosley and his fascists were on their toes from the Commies.... Can't justify 2 years and loss of job for shaking a fence outside a football stadium when an MP can smash 3 members of the opposit party (and 1 of his own who tried to help) gets a slap on the wrist and his £65k a year job guaranteed. Disgusting.

Putting in fraudulent expense claims, employing illegal home helps, getting other people to take the blame for driving offences, phone tapping etc etc besides getting into bar fights shows that they are without doubt a fine bunch of upstanding individuals who shouldn't be treated like us mere mortals.
scotty Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Let's hope the Labour party chuck him out, followed by the voters. They did, as soon as he was convicted. He's now an independent.
