RobM Posted 8 March, 2012 Share Posted 8 March, 2012 It would also fit in with our old-boys coaching recruitment policy, would love to see it happen.

Saint-Armstrong Posted 8 March, 2012 Share Posted 8 March, 2012 Jimmy Stannard is getting on... would like to see the club retain Kelv as a member of staff. Goalkeeper Coach anyone?
Crazy Diamond Posted 9 March, 2012 Share Posted 9 March, 2012 It's an interesting point - given the club's almost hostile attitude towards certain former players, how will they treat one of the current squad when they retire. Will they be welcomed back, given coaching or ambassadorial roles? I suppose it's possible, Murty was a signing under the Cortese regime. Maybe the likes of Le Tiss and Lawrie were just involved at a high level in the bad times, Lawrie as part of Wilde's 'we got our club back' rubbish and Le Tiss was part of the Fialka fiasko. david in sweden Posted 9 March, 2012 Share Posted 9 March, 2012 Jobs for the boys, love it. at least he'd have the club at heart. (like Stuart Gray - great as a coach..Gardner, Puckett, Doddsy..Is Jaidi going to coach when he retires ?) I recall the great Liverpool sides in the 1970-80's . They got through a whole succession of backroom trainers turned manager after Shankley's time, and it made no difference... they still won almost everything in sight ..in the end the tea-lady could have picked the side (probably did for all we know !)
