hutch Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Here's my team for today: -------------GK---------------- LB------CB--------CB-------RB LM------CM-------CM-------RM ----------ST-------ST What do you think? And the bench? sub sub sub sub sub
trousers Posted 10 March, 2012 Author Posted 10 March, 2012 Just watching my son's under 12's team play away at Sandhurst, Berkshire....not exactly a hot bed of Saints supporters...but two 5 - 6 year old kids playing kick-about on the touch line. One says to the other: "I'll be Lambert, you be Kelvin Davis." For a part of the country where 80-90% of the kids support man utd, Liverpool, Chelsea etc, that was a heart warming moment! :-) Just felt the need to share the love!
ericofarabia Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 The programme guide on the Canal Satellite decoder says that we're on L'Equipe TV tomorrow afty. Don't know how many of you can access that.I have to go down the South Coast tomorrow so I won't be able to watch but I'll be putting it into the memory so that I can catch up on Sunday. Might be able to tune into the match thread for a bit though. I've an hour free in the afternoon so I might just WiFi in from Montpellier 2 or failing that I'll just go and have a mega bucket at KFC Perols and wifi up from there. Al Jism is featuring ghey boys v Skate Boys as their live 1500 Ko.
shurlock Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Good pre-match with Keith Hill http://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/articles/20120308/video-hill-on-saints-task_2264416_2641013/0,,10309~2641013~1,00.html
thorpie the sinner Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 I would like Sharp to start with Lee to come off the bench as an impact sub. Puncheon on the right with De Ridder to replace him should he fail to impress. I would like to see us attack from the off rather than wait until the last twenty minutes. How about giving Shaw a chance if Fox is still unfit? This lad deserves a chance to see what he can do. FWIW Sharp is desperate to start, but NA sees him as a long term option! I hope he does get a go today
revolution saint Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Good pre-match with Keith Hill http://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/articles/20120308/video-hill-on-saints-task_2264416_2641013/0,,10309~2641013~1,00.html Ha ha, that's superb - sounds like a good lad.
Saint Garrett Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Wasn't it Barnsley fans who were singing 'where's your son gone' to Billy Sharp?
S-Clarke Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Wasn't it Barnsley fans who were singing 'where's your son gone' to Billy Sharp? Apparently, yes. Sickos.
saintscottofthenortham Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Apparently, yes. Sickos. I heard this was just a sick rumour.
DrunkenSaint Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 ---------Davis Butterfield---Fonte---Jos----Fox/Shaw--- -----------------Morgan---------------- --------Punch----------------Chappers-- -----------------Lallana----------------- ------------Lee----------Lambo--------- Subs: Martin, De Ridder, Hammond, Sharp, Fox/Shaw If Fox isn't fit play Shaw but thats roughly the same side that beat Watford quite easily
Sheaf Saint Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 I heard this was just a sick rumour. I wouldn't be surprised. There's no love lost between Barnsley and Donny Rovers, I know that much. The only thing that unites them is their common hatred for Sheff Wednesday.
supersonic Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 He'd be as much out of his depth as those other youngsters who we blooded at an early stage. You know the ones; Walcott, Bale and Oxlade-Chamberlain. Have you ever thought that he hasn't played a first team league game yet because he isn't yet good enough?
Noodles34 Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Wasn't it Barnsley fans who were singing 'where's your son gone' to Billy Sharp? you will always get one or two idiots but i would be amazed if it was anymore than that. I can't believe humanity would descend that low on a wide scale, except down the road that is.
trousers Posted 10 March, 2012 Author Posted 10 March, 2012 Now sitting in the sun in 18 degree sunshine next to the BBQ at the King Alfred. Perfect day so far
THEVMAN Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Mr enigma starts again on the right and Fox is back in for Harding.

Saint Garrett Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Davis; Richardson, Fonte, Hooiveld, Fox; Guly, Hammond, Schneiderlin, Lallana; Lee, Lambert ?? Martin, Chaplow, De Ridder, Cork, Sharp ?
hutch Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Could someone please copy and paste the article on to here? Can't see it on the mobile site. It's a video. You need a player subscription. Amusing though.
saints-cris Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Jordan Sibley @jordansibley Saints Vs Barnsley: Davis. Richardson, Fonte, Hooiveld, Fox. Guly, Hammond©, Schneiderlin, Lallana. Lee, Lambert #saintsfc
saints-cris Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 On the bench for Saints today are: Cork, Sharp, Martin, Connolly and De Ridder. One change for Saints, Fox back in for Harding #saintsfc
Saint Garrett Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Davis; Richardson, Fonte, Hooiveld, Fox; Guly, Hammond, Schneiderlin, Lallana; Lee, Lambert ?? Martin, Chaplow, De Ridder, Cork, Sharp ?Pretty much spot on apart from Connolly and not Chaplow.
Saint_Jonny Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Cork should be in the team ahead of Hammond for me.
Saintjersey Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Would have started Chaplow and Cork ahead of Guly and Hammond.
opthomps Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Hammond is worse than every player on the bench in my opinion. Odd to start him again.
Saint Garrett Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Why the sudden hate for Hammond ? He's a good player,
trousers Posted 10 March, 2012 Author Posted 10 March, 2012 Saw 4 Japanese lads at the pub earlier...decked out in Saints gear with Japanese/Saints banners. Quality :-)
Saint Garrett Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Keith Hill hasnt travelled down today (Barnsley manager)
trousers Posted 10 March, 2012 Author Posted 10 March, 2012 Why the sudden hate for Hammond ? Because football fans are a fickle breed
trousers Posted 10 March, 2012 Author Posted 10 March, 2012 @jordansibley: In other news, Barnsley's manager Keith Hill has not traveled to the game today due to a viral infection. #saintsfc
dubai_phil Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Should be fine today. My interent is working fine. (For those not ITK, that was the reason we didn't win on Tuesday) Been a very strange weekend so far, 23C currently and no idea if my stomach can face any OSH today, keeping eyelids open is a pretty tough ask ATM
THEVMAN Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Why the sudden hate for Hammond ? He's a good player,Unfortunatly on this site your only good until some one better comes along, then your no use to no one it seems.
Saintjersey Posted 10 March, 2012 Posted 10 March, 2012 Why the sudden hate for Hammond ? He's a good player, Agreed he is a good player, however I still would have started Cork ahead of him.
