Lallana's Shooting

Adam is a wonderful player but I wish he would start taking 1st shots with some power

Too many times does he take extra touches before passing towards goal

He seems to have missed quite a few "sitters" this season. Hope this doesn't come back to haunt us like those sitters Prutton missed in our relegation year...

I wouldn't call any of his chances today 'sitters'. They were decent oppertunities that he didn't catch 100%.

10 goals from MF shows he's done more good than not in the goalscorring sense.

If Lallana wants to be a top class performer then he needs to be more prolific. If we get promoted he'll get less chances and the consequence of missing will be greater. At the moment the level of his finishing is well below that of his movement and close control.

He hit the target with one powerful shot today, it didn't go in. A few weeks back he passed one in. What's your point ?

This - why we didn't win - wasteful in the first half hour.

Dead right. He does a lot of flash work but football is about end product. Thats why matty was so good. Lambert has to create and score, again for me lambert is our best player.

What game were you watching; the pass from Hammond gave him an easy chance.. and he is so frustrating when he always has to take a touch when he can hit it first time. That said, for a wide midfielder his goals tally is not bad !

Agree with the above that the chance from Hammonds pass was a sitter!

Seriously though Lallana could cut it in La Liga and may in fact be more suited to it than to English football. BUT he's no way near good enough for Barcelona, not quick enough and his finishing isn't good enough. Mind you there's probably only a few players in the Premier League that could cut it in that Barca team.

He might well be if he could learn that little chip over that Messi often uses in 1 on 1 situations with the keeper.

Looked at the all angles and thought to myself that if Adam had done that we would have probably won 3-0 at least on Tuesday.

Still I guess it's far easier said than done but I noticed that we tried to slot the ball between the keeper and his right hand post

a few times when the little dink up and over might have been more effective.

He seems to lack conviction when he shoots. For whatever reason he just doesn't look comfortable with the ball at his feet in front of goal which is plain weird considering that anywhere else on the pitch he's completely in control of what he's doing.

Don't think he lacks conviction at all but always seems to want to place the ball low down inside the post giving the keeper the maximum chance when sliding it either over him or across his would be probably more successful. I mean opposing teams must look at videos of our games right, the young Ipswich keeper just seemed to know that Adam would try to slide it past his right hand because he was already going down that way on both occasions.

no idea what his goals were like, but lol at this thread... :)

Sat in the Chapel (Block 18, Row E)

When he hit the first one he looked like a man possessed.

Maybe he has seen this thread.

Second one, was thanks to Lee who just refused to give up.

Without lallana taking an extra touch we wouldn't have got half the goals we have scored this season.....I don't know the numbers but his assists are a big contribution.

During our first season in League 1, many of Adam's shots were powderpuffy. However I really think he has been working on that aspect of his game and his shooting power is so much stronger now. I would not wish to crticise though, as he is such a talented all round player.
